Don't listen to any tout along that road they will confuse you to fill up their porket or give anyone your phone.....drop your phone in the car or at home if possible.

I only go with my documents.

My took two week before they receive my physical file and then immediately send me packet 3..

oh your case is still at nvc.....if that is the case you have to wait until it's says ready on ceac website, before doing anything.

Please when you book your appointment give like 2 weeks and four days after your medicals for your interview before the two weeks expire your packet 3 will be sent to you.

As for police report I paid 3k, don't negotiate when you get there just go with your passport and two passport photograph and tell them what you need the police report for, after they have done everything just give them 3k., after all it suppose to be free.

I saw ready on ceac website on June 28 and that day I print and schedule my appointment till 17th of this month and the next day I did my medicals, And at this point I have not received my packet 3.

So I called the embassy and they said they haven't received my physical file they only have electronic file and if they did not send me my packet 3 before my interview date,  I won't be able to attend the interview.

And God so good I receive my packet 3 5 days before the interview even though I have done everything with without packet 3.

So I did my interview and I was approved.

So if you went ahead and do all these,  and they haven't email you packet 3 interview won't take place.

And i spoke to so many people about the processs in the pakistani portal for k1.. no one waited for p3 or p4..and moved forward after ceac updated to ready. There are even several threads..

Yeah lagos embassy won't interview you until they sent you the next instructions, and that's is after they have received your physical file.

Well interview today was so interesting, and here is how it goes.

I arrived at the embassy (nigeria) today by 5:30am...we were separated as immigrants and non immigrants, after that security check.

So long story short I think the embassy had more than 500 non immigrants today, immigrants are just like 50.

  Now it's my turn, and I was called.

The Korean CO interviewed me.

CO : how are you

Me: am fine and you.

CO: raises his and up and asked me to swear, after that he asked.

CO: who is filling for you.

Me: name of my fiance.

CO:how did you meet.

Me: answer

CO: what kind of car is she driving.

Me: ( I never expected that question though) but I answered.

CO: which model.

Me: I don't know the model but I know it's 2017 Nissan.

CO: her best friends are...

Me: answer 

CO: did she live in a house or apartment

Me: answer 

CO: how many people live with her.

Me: answer

CO: why did she move from Seattle to Alaska.

Me: just to change environment.

Then he said you vusa will be ready and give me three form.

CO: OK thank you bye.

If you know your fiancee very well the questions are nothing but simple.

The question entails what you fill in some 160  and part of her life that is not documented like the kind of apartments, car, her friends etc.

Unless they tell me, the way they process files depends on case itself not embassy. Then I have no comments.

In my own case my electronic file was received on 28 of last month and I called for packet 3 but the response I got is that "they have received my electric file, but they are waiting for physical file in order to send me packet 3.

However, there is a lady here who's fiancee traveled to the states to visit her so when nvc process his case it was sent the second day it get to nvc and he got packet 3 the third day.

So what I see in it is that, that guy have already traveled to the state and they have his record and is easier for the government to speed up his petition.

So in many cases the way they process it is different from person to person.

Electronic file is ready within two day...some embassy process their file electronically and some embassies process file in both ways.

Waiting for packet 3...........

Well after I saw ready and the embassy confirm that they have my case electronically......I went ahead to schedule my interview and carry out my medicals.

I other for them to send me packet 3 they will need to receive my physical file which can take up to 1-5 day from DHL.

So within the three weeks before my interview my packet will be sent to me and then am good to go.

My was electronically done, and it took two Days and it says ready.

But when I called the embassy for packet 3 they said they haven't received my physical file yet they just have it electronically sent to them.

Maybe some embassies might have received your case from nvc electronically but still expecting the physical file.

So in that case they will tell you they haven't received it waiting for both electronically and physical file to be ready.

Thank you for your email.

According to our records, we have received the electronic file but we are yet to receive your physical file. Once we receive the physical case file we will contact regarding the next step in the process.

My Advice: When they reply with the Packet 3, reschedule (no payment is needed for it) the date. It's better to be safe than sorry.
