Nonsense,  It is your current annualized run rate which can be supported by the most recent paystub

I did write on the additional section what my annual is increased to, and I am going to include my offer letter as well just for additional document support. My annual income from this year will be slightly different from last beings I am making more due to the increase in pay this year than I did last year at a consistent rate. Do you think including the additional few pay stubs leading up to the interview showing the increase but also showing the internal promotion within the same company will be fine?

I'm gonna wait and see what others comment.  I've heard that even though people bring the income info to interview, Consul do not ask for it nor is it necessary to bring at the K1 level.

also, can tax transcripts be provided instead of tax returns? transcript is less pages and more concise.

    Catherine.

I read online that tax transcripts are accepted however I also included my W2 from last year as well just to be safe.

Either is fine. We left things blank but N/A is fine.

No you don't have to list assets if using income, especially if nothing much to show. I'd only say list it as 'extra' if substantial amount.

Annual income used will be from last years W2, not future projection for this year. Not how it works. While you have a promotion, use the new income as evidence with pay stubs, and sure I guess you can explain you got a raise, but for the annual amount earned you have to use the amount from 2017, not future estimates.

Thank You- I have included about 7 pay stubs showing that I have had had consistent income with the same employer and it notes the change in pay.  I will adjust the annual amount I have listed to coincide with last years annual income.

    Thank You :)

  4. I am going over my I-134 to make sure all my i's are dotted and t's are crossed. I realized that I did not place anything in the spaces that did not apply to me. I know with the I-129f form in the empty spaces I wrote "none" or "n/a". Should I also go back in and do this for the AOS form as well? Is there a difference if I write "n/a" vs "none"?

Also in the section where is asks about assets/ savings under Part 3- I do not have assets but I make more than enough annually to support my fiance. Do I need to list what is in my savings at this time? Right now there is barely anything there as I have been using that to afford this process. Can I leave that blank or will this get flagged?

Lastly - in Sept I took a promotion at work- increasing my hourly and annual income. I did explain this in detail on the additional information section on the last page, but want to make sure that is acceptable as I listed what my new annual income would be going forward- but clearly that would not be what I bring in this year.

Any clarity on these would be appreciated.

Vermont?  Only rarely when they need to load balance otherwise it is Calif for everyone

yes I was surprised by that also, but an agent at USCIS told me when I was awaiting my approval that California is moving faster only being 7.5 month  basically stated I was lucky I wasnt in vermont because they are 7-9 months waiting process ... I thought it was pretty interesting the difference in wait times, but happy I was in Cali processing center

    Awww thank you!

He is coming over to the UK from the US next year, and we are going to start the K1 process.

Did you get a lawyer to fill the visa form or do it your yourselves? I'm inclined to do it myelf due to the cost implications lol.

I would be so grateful of any help or advice as this is all new to me.

    Thank you so much again.☺️

I did not go through an attorney, I did everything on my own with the help of people who have gone through this process and if unsure of something I would post on here and would get clarity or answers. An attorney really cannot do anything for you, it does not expedite your process, and does not guarantee... You are going to spend a good amount but not as much as going through a lawyer. There are plenty of people, myself included who will help answer any questions we can.

Thank you so much for your help.

So do you apply for a K1 and then a a CR-1 after you are married?

    Thank you.

No- You either do the K1 or the CR 1. I did the K1 Visa and we are at the ending stage. He goes for his Physical next week and his interview is not until Dec. Once you get married you submit your marriage license, another affidavit of support - this one is different than the 1st one (I-864) and I believe a few other things. This is for his green card I believe, and there is a fee for this process as well. I am more than happy to try to help answer any questions regarding the K1 if you choose to go that route as this process is confusing and you will have many come up along the way. I do not know what I would have doe without help from people on here.  :)

    Hi I am new here.

My US fiance and I wish to get married and we are unsure where to begin with the visa process - I am from the UK.

I've seen the form online and we are completing that next year when he visits.

    I have several questions:

    1. Which K1 visa do we apply for? (He is a US born citizen and I am a UK born one).

    2. How long does it take to process?

    3. After it is approved, what happens?

    4. Is the next part of the application expedited if you are married?

    5. Can I have dual nationality and keep my UK passport as will need to come back periodically.

Sorry for all the questions, this is all new to both of us and I have read so much information I am unsure which route to take.

    Many thanks,

    Loli

    Hi Loli-

1.For the K1 Visa there is only the I-129F Form to be completed. This is for the Fiance Visa. IF you decide to get married then there is another visa mentioned above- the CR-1 visa (spouse Visa).

    2. The length of time depends on what location your documents are processed in. Some places take longer than others. Generally it takes anywhere from 6-7.5 months to be processed and approved by USCIS (take into account any holidays around the time you file, which can sometimes delay a little)

    3. Once approved the USCIS sends your paperwork to the NVC (National Visa Center). Here they process your paperwork (scan into a system) issue you a case and invoice number and send your documents to the Embassy in the Country of your fiance/spouse. Once the Embassy has obtained it you will be notified and will need to complete a DS-160 Form and pay $265 (this is the application for his Visa) - Make sure you save the confirmation pages via email, print or take a screen shot and print out. You will schedule a bio metrics appointment for you spouse (Physical) where they check him over and issue any vaccines he needs to enter the United States. Once that is complete they state you will need to complete a I-134 form (Affidavit of Support Form) and begin gathering all your important documents together: AOS Form, Tax transcript from previous year, pay stubs, confirmation page for DS-160 and Receipt Page for paying for the DS-160, Interview confirmation email stating you have an appointment scheduled with the Embassy. Your fiance or you will get notified where to send this or if he will bring to his interview. Allow 10 days between his bio metrics and his interview for the results to get sent to the embassy. After his interview if approved he will give them his passport and it can take from what I have read 10-12 business days to get his visa returned. Do not book his flight until he physically has his visa in his hand. If you need help finding any information everyone on here is wonderful with helping answer any questions. (this is the process for the K1-Visa)

    4. If you do the K1 Visa you have 90 days to get married once he arrives in the US. You then have another process to go through to get his status changed, obtain a work permit, be allowed to travel in and out of the country without issues, and obtain a social security number. This process is about 3-5 months from what I have been seeing but could be longer. If you do the CR-1 visa all of this will be bypassed as you are already married.

    5. HE should be able to maintain his passport and have dual citizenship here and in the UK.

Best of luck to you - this can be a stressful experience but worth it :)

HAHA no - this person didnt get their visa for almost 2 weeks after their interview, but they have a "V" number and she said she needed that when her husband went to his physical. It is a true understatement that everyone's process is very different, and experiences different things. Thank you as always for all your help :)

When you did your DS-160 form and paid for the visa on the co formation page did you have a number off to the right that started with a V? Apparently this is the number with the V she is talking about- she states she completed and paid for her husbands visa prior to getting the email that NVC was sending her documents to the embassy and that number did not circulate on the confirmation page, making it “legit”.

  10. 4 minutes ago, NuestraUnion said:

There is no V number. But there is an A number. Regardless, you have your case number, ID, and appointment. You are good to go.

I have a question... is the person that told you you needed a V number the same that told you you can get the visa issued the same day as the interview? Because if it is, then I would refrain from getting further advice from them. I know people are trying to help but you keep getting misinformation.

  11. I am trying to find out if anyone knows what a "V" Number is, where I would find it and what it is needed for. A friend who went through this process states that a V number is needed for the physical / medical portion, which our appointment is next week. We have our case number already which we received from NVC. I have called the NVC who state they have nothing to do with anything, and that they will only send me an email once they send our documents to the Dominican Embassy. I also called the Embassy in Santo Domingo DR and they basically were no help, sound like they read from a script regarding everything. I have tried researching to find out what this v number is, what its purpose is, or who I would get it from. Has anyone heard or have gotten a V number for a K1 Visa process?

    Hola,

La pagina de Servicios Medicos Consulares has the breakdown of prices for vaccines both on their web page and FB page.  You may also wanna look into getting the vaccines at Salud Publica and save the $$$.  Servicios Medicos Consulares accepts them. SMC is located in Santo Domingo.

    Catherine.

thank you very much, I finally was able to find something last night... I cant believe how much more expensive it is coming here during the flu season vs warmer season!

MBE is Mailboxes Etc. This is where they will deliver the passport for pickup if you do not want to go to the VAC at Galleria 360.  When you register at US Traveldocs it gives you the option of choosing pick up at the VAC, delivery to an MBE location, or home delivery (at an extra cost, I think it's about 500 pesos).

ah yes yes ok - he does not have reliable mail service which is why we went with picking up at the VAC. Hopefully they move just as quickly, not sure how paying for it way in advance helps but hopefully it ignites something to move it along quicker. Thank you for your help, it is very much appreciated

It is currently taking about four business days for the Embassy in Santo Domingo to return your passport with the visa printed in it.  That is if you have it delivered to MBE. I am not sure if it is any faster to pick it up at the VAC.

what is the MBE? Currently right now we have it listed as scheduled to pick up at the Galeria 360 in Santo Domingo.

Here is what I found so far about the breakdown in vaccine cost as per http://www.consultoriosdevisa.com/requisitos-tarifas/.

Precios a partir del 1 ero de Octubre del 2018.

The Santo Domingo consulate page is a year old but it has information on cost.

    https://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Dominican Republic&cty=Santo Domingo

Looks like the vaccinations are about $105 depending on which vaccines a person needs. This now sounds familiar now that I racked my aging brain, because I vaguely remember $400 for medical around the time my wife and I was going through the process ($275 + $105 = $380).

Keep in mind that those prices may have changed.

Thank you very much - You have been more than helpful

De nada. However, you may not like what I'm about to tell you. Because at that time of the interview it will be the end of the year so there will be a mad rush for people to have interviews. Basically, everybody wants their loved one(s) here for the holidays. It still may be possible for him to be here before Christmas, just be prepared that there is a possibility that there may be delays.

Also, the embassy has the same holiday schedule as the US. So there will be days where it will be closed and they will not be working on cases.

But don't fret. Stay positive and keep in mind that he will be here soon.

Staying positive is all I can do at this point. Do you happen to know where I can find the prices for the vaccines? Due to the season he will be coming in, I know he will have to get a flu shot and am not sure if that is included in the round of vaccines he will need or is seperate. I have looked online and only seem to find the list of vaccines he needs but not the prices.

    Thank You

He will be given a verbal approval or refusal. Visas are NOT issued at the time of the interview. The visa will be printed in his passport which is a whole other process that takes time.

It is true that the time frame from interview approval is about 1 to 2 weeks. Please be aware that it could take longer than that.

AVISO: You should not make any travel purchase until the visa is physically in his hands. Not when he is verbally approved at the interview. But that the visa is in his hands.

Thank You, I wasnt sure how that really worked, but hopefully due to the holidays he will not have to wait more than 2 weeks to get his visa

Personally, I have not seen a single person get his/her fiance visa at the interview.......The earliest is more likely to be a week or more......good luck.

I didnt think so either, and everyone I know who has went through this process has had to wait. We had an earlier date but  the agent scheduled the bioemtrics to close together and had to cancel it :( which pushed our date out

  19. My fiance and I just scheduled our interview which now is for Dec 3rd thanks to the agent who assisted us screwed up. :( We have already submitted his visa application, and paid for it. Beings his interview is over a month away, by the time he goes would getting his visa at his interview be a possibility? I have read and heard some cases that beneficiaries were given their visa at their interview if approved, where as some others had to wait for about 10-12 business days to get theirs. Has anyone gotten their visa at their interview or is this all hearsay?
