  1. Do you happen to know where this hospital is? Is this in Santo Domingo perhaps? Normally the vaccines arnt to much but beings he will be coming here during flu season he is required to obtain a flu shot as well which is an additional fee on top of the already priced vaccines.

  2. My fiance and I have been approved and received our case number from the NVC. The agent I spoke with at the NVC advised me to begin getting all documentations together while I wait for them to send our information to the Embassy. I explained to her we have already completed our DS-160 application - paid for it and have a receipt number. She explained to me what was needed, which most he has already or has obtained including the required police certificate. She mentioned that we needed to be sure that he has the "correct" birth certificate- where I am confused because I have not known of there being more than one kind. Next she stated to complete the Affidavit of Support and will need to have a copy of my recent tax return transcript. Again the agent stated to fill out the correct affidavit but did not nor would clarify which one - after some research I see there are 2 different forms: the I-134 and the I-864. Can anyone tell me which one I would need to complete for the K1-Visa? Also is there a fee to file the AOS form?Is this something that he will take with him when we have a scheduled interview or is this something we would need to mail to the Embassy first and then wait for them to review the information. I have seen some people have done it both ways, mail the packet or take to the interview. I like to be proactive and want to make sure we have what is needed and expected beings I have read cases have been denied due to missing information.

Thank You for any help provided.

  3. Good Morning,

I am in the process of waiting for my NVC case number but looking to be proactive and gather all paperwork needed for the next process. I know we will need to have a police certificate for the interview portion however, my fiance believes you have to pay a "tax" in order to get it. I understand there will be a fee to obtain the certificate. The amount he is finding online he has to pay is significant and I cannot imagine that being accurate. Can anyone advise me where in the Dominican Republic he will need to go to get this certificate and how much it is?

Also if anyone has a link to a site that explains what the next process with the NVC is, if anything is needed for them or if they just provide a case number, then submit to the embassy in the Dominican Republic.

    Any advisement is appreciate.

  4. I need any help I can get. My Fiance is from the Dominican Republic and I am from the US... we received our approval approval notice in 10/01 and have been waiting for over 2 weeks to get our NVC Case no. AS of right now neither USCIS or NVC can tell me anything about where my paperwork is nor provide me with my case number. The NVC states when they enter in my receipt number that nothing shows up, stating the USCIS has not sent the paperwork while USCIC is stating they sent everything electronically. I know every process if different however I know quite a few people who have went through this process and received their case no within one week of being approved by the USCIC. AS anyone going through this process knows that you cannot do anything until you have received your case number. Not even complete your DS-160form. Per a supervisor at USCIS they technically have "90 days" to send my approved paperwork to where it needs to go, and per NVC they can take up to "8 weeks" to review, process and send off to the embassy in the Dominican Republic. Noone seems to know where my paperwork is, each dept is placing blame on the other- NVC says: "it was not sent to us" while USCIC is saying "we sent it but they havnt refreshed their system"...Has anyone had a similar issue to mine, or can anyone guide me on where or who I need to talk to?? To say this process is anything than frustrating and draining is an understatement. Please help me before I loose my mind. I am in need of a case number and an invoice number.

    Thank you in advance!!

  5. So my fiance and I have just been approved and are currently waiting for our "official letter" to come in the mail. The question I have is if anyone knows exactly what the next process entails. I know he will need to go for a medical and  vaccinations, and I have looked online at the requirements and pricing. I am confused as it states that adults are one price, but that during flu season they are another. Does that mean we would have to pay the original fee on top of the additional for the flu shot? Also is the medical physical included in the initial price listed for vaccinations or is there a separate fee for the physical?  Also if anyone knows the financial aspect of what this next step is - just so we can get a head start on making sure we have that part set aside and ready. Any  help or feedback is appreciated. I will provide the website link with the information pertaining to the pricing of vaccines.

    Thank You in advance :)

  6. thank you everyone for your replies. My fiance and I wanted to do a destination wedding back in his country in Sept 2019 but now am worried that will be cutting it close. If all goes well we will be getting married in Dec and we could submit for the other required documents in January, but we do not want to book for something or plan something and him end up not being able to travel and not be able to get back in the US. To say this process is anything other than stressful is an understatement. Thank you all.

  7. So I understand most of the rules regarding a K1-Visa as far as you have 90 days from when they come here to get married, but does anyone know how long until you area able to travel together? IF we wanted to go back to his home country for a visit or go on a late honeymoon next year would that be OK, or is there a certain amount of time he has to stay here in the states after getting married before we can travel out of the country to go visit his family, or go on a cruise? Has anyone run into anything like this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

  8. thank you- that was one of my major concerns when I found out because I listed on the paperwork that he did not have any debts to find out that he did. SO it is comforting to know that it will not be a problem, especially beings that it has since been settled and we have at least 6 months before they start looking at out paperwork.

  9. So my fiance  inherited  a debt when his father passed away that he recently paid off & I had just found out about. He sent me copies of the receipts showing they were paid off and he is obtaining a letter from the bank to indicate that the debt has been taken care of but I am concerned how this will impact us when they begin to process our paperwork. Should I send in copies of these receipts and the letter to the processing center asap that way when they do begin processing our paperwork, they will have the documents that show this has been taken care of or will this not come up as a problem beings it was paid off? I know here in the states it can take some time to clear from your records that it was settled, I am not sure how this works in the Dominican Republic and would rather be safe now than sorry later. Any help or suggestions are much appreciated.

  10. I am at the final stages of collecting all my evidence and finishing my paperwork, and noticed on the instructions page of filling out the I-129F form it states to provide a copy of your passport photo... I gave my extra photo to my fiance to have for whenever he will need to go for his interview he has everything, however I did provide a color copy of my passport that includes my photo. Will this be enough or should I go get another photo done to include in my packet? Any help is appreciated
