  1. Went to SS office yesterday and they didn't have anything about my wife's SS card in their system. They entered all the information and gave us a confirmation letter that we applied for the SS card. As per SS office, we should get the card now in two weeks.

The whole immigration system is broken as #######. They have no respect of their time and ours.

  2. My wife had her CR1 interview on 08/24 and she was approved. However, we haven't heard anything since from the Amsterdam embassy. The "Case Last Updated" field updates every couple of days on CEAC status site, but status itself hasn't changed from READY. She has still not gotten her passport back. I am starting to freak out a little. Is it somewhat normal?

Hi, when I look at this table for Child (under 21 and unmarried) column, there is no stick for Petitioner's marriage terminate record but if I look at the list per country, I saw this sentence:

"If you are the petitioner’s stepchild:  The original marriage certificate of the petitioner and your biological parent and a photocopy along with divorce records for any previous marriages of either parent."

Any idea if the original divorce records need to be prepared for the interview or a copy should be fine? Thanks.

They want to see original documents at the interview. I am quite positive that you will need to take the original divorce records with you. Call NVC and confirm.

Right. What I am asking is for people receiving CCs in August, when will they receive notification of an interview assignment? I know the actual interview date depends on the beneficiary's country. Thanks.

You receive notification when they actually schedule interview. If your country is backlogged and let's say you get an interview for Oct (hopefully, it is sooner than that), then NVC will schedule your interview some time in September and that's when you will get notification from NVC.

You can, but nobody is going to pick up.
