YOU ARE ALMOST THERE. We all are. In 10 years You two are going to look back at this and laugh. This is such a small part in the grand scheme of life. you are going to spend forever with your loved one. That is worth being apart for a little bit. We're all lucky to have found a love that is so strong that we're taking this journey on. It is so worth it. We all have truly special relationships. It's a blessing.

Ha! I do try to be. We went through the whole depression phase since they are so incredibly slow and might not realize that they are "playing" with people's lives. Delaying everything brought us serious financial Problems.  
 
BUT this is the one life we have and we are going to be together. In the end, love wins and distance does nothing to a strong relationship. We will all be with our loved ones in the end. Life is good!

Hi everybody. I just discovered this forum AND I LOVE IT.
So many helpful tips and estimates that really do help us have some realistic expectations. As many of you, I thought I would be with my fiancé in the states by the end of this year. ( I'm the German beneficiary) 
I am now hoping for a NOA2 in early December and POA in feb/ march. My NOA1 was June 9th  
I love the general positivity in here. We are getting close and I'm looking forward to see the first June cases actually touched. 
Praying for all of us. Time IS passing everybody. I know it doesn't feel like it, but it is passing.

I love that!! You're so awesome. I haven't met my fiancé's immediate family yet; I'm going to Sweden beginning of the year to do just that, and of course familiarize myself more with where he's from before he comes here permanently. I was so worried about his parents and sister accepting this because they haven't met me yet, but you sound a lot like his mom.  She says she knows I'm the one by how happy I make her son. We have one another on social media and I chat with them all as much as I can to get to know them as much as I can in the meantime.
 
He has people on his end who don't understand, too. We met online, and a lot of people can't understand that. We knew that going into this what the situation was, and would be, but the support from those who matter is truly the most important thing. I wish the greatest of luck to Carl and Jona!!

Thank you.  I knew she was "the one" while he was stationed in South Korea.  Carl never smiles in pictures, but from the day he met Jona, he was nothing but smiles in every picture he posted.  I know he's truly happy when he's with her and that's all that matters to me.  Unfortunately, I know what you mean about some family members.  Carl's sisters and I are excited for him and have been chatting with Jona over facetime to get to know her so she'll feel more comfortable once she gets here.  But the rest of the family has made some ridiculous comments.  Just don't understand their problem.  One of the big ones people bring up is - you barely know her, you got engaged within six months.  Then I remind them that my husband and I got engaged after just two months and have been together for 25 years now - while all of them are on marriage 2 or 3!  When you know, you know.

I just wanted to tell you how beautiful it is to see a family member being so incredibly and actively supportive. I see a lot of people go through similar processes and have zero support on one, or both, sides. I personally have great support from immediate family, but have experienced the opposite from some extended family, and it sucks. Taking the time to research this topic and be all in with your son and his partner is an incredible thing, and I'm sure it's safe to say it means the world to the both of them.

I was super nervous that my shy, quiet (then) boyfriend from a super small family would be scared off by my large, loud, crazy family. He loved them from the first moment he met them!! And they loved him too, he and my brother are like siblings now, which can be annoying at times. I need you to counter, not encourage, the annoying little sibling!! Lol. I'm sure things will turn out great for you guys as well, especially since she has such a caring future Mother In Law!!
