I am also a bit confused here! I am applying for my husband from overseas. I am not sure what proof of assets should we give. We live in Dubai and we can't buy a property or do anything here.

Don't worry about any thing now. Just wait for a few months. You will need a mailing address which is in 'USA. USCIS will not mail any letters overseas. I had the same issue.

Case not approved your looking at a 6 month wait. Case once approved will go to NVC and another 3 months from there. in total your looking at 10 months till you get the green card.

So I paid the AOS and the applicant fee to NVC. Does anyone know how long will it take from here for an interview?

Hello people,
I have my CR1 interview in a weeks’s time at abu dhabi embassy. When we sent the Affidavit of support and supporting documents to NVC (i.e last year) my husbands income was sufficient. But for this year his income is a little below the required amount. So we decided to have a joint sponsor, and his income is way more than enough.
My question is—During interview, do i need to show ORIGINAL Affidavit of support of joint sponsor, or is copy of it sufficient?
How much income do you need to sponsor?

Hello people, Me and my husband both live in Dubai and have applied for his green card. We received the welcome letter and I have also chosen an agent. However I don't have a bank account in the US. I would like to know if I can pay the fee by using my fathers US bank account.

i'm actually in the same boat, i found out it means it has to be from a bank in the US and not a foreign one.. kind of sucks if the foreign spouse wants to pay but you/they can always transfer the money if they want to help.
Can we use a relatives account to pay??

Hi All I am not sure how to pay the NVC fee. It does mention to pay online however on nvc.state.gov it also says You will need a bank routing number and checking or savings account number from a US bank. I am not sure what this means? Could someone please help me!

Hi All,
Just wanted to know a few things. I just choose an agent on Friday. What are the next few steps. I have to mail documents to NVC, how long will it take to schedule an interview for my husband?
After the interview hoe long does it take to get his psychical green card as I believe it will be mailed to my address in the US.

Anybody, whether in the US or elsewhere, has to earn a certain level of income before they are required to file a tax return. It's based on your filing status....Married, single, joint, etc.
In 2016 and 2017, for you with a status Married Filing Separately the cut off is earning equivalent to $4050. If you earned more than that, file a tax return. If you earned less than $4050, you do not file. 2015 was $4000. If you were single for all of a tax year, the amount earned before filing is over $10,000.
Your married affidavit of support (I-864) has instructions telling you what to provide instead of a tax return when you were not required by the IRS to file. Read the instructions before trying to do the form.
@Wuozopo thanks for the advice. What if I send the documents to NVC and write a letter that I couldn't pay taxes. Is there a chance they would delay my husband's green card

Hello People, So me and my husband got an email from NVC (welcome letter). I need some advice here. I have lived all my life outside USA. I was born in NY and moved overseas at the age of 6. I haven't paid any taxes and my income is below the overseas tax credit. What should I do in this case?

At this stage she has to apply for I130 wait for 6 months and then wait for NVC to get back to you
-
@NikLR are there any forms for NVC?

I apologies for the confusion I thought DCF is if you apply without an attorney or lawyer.

@Jorge V Thank you for the info. I believe that if my income is below USD 90000 annually I wont be charged tax? I have been living outside USA since the age of 16. Could you please guide me how to go about this. My case is now at the NVC and we will get our case number is a couple of days. I want to get my paperwork ready asap

Hi There, anyone over here knows what documents you need at the NVC stage when applying DCF. Also I have been living outside USA since the age of 16 and have applied for my husband for a green card and want to move back. I really don't know about the taxes system and is there any forum for NVC.
