    Hi,

I'm sure that you had your visa interview yesterday.  How was it? Hopefully everything went well. Right. Could please share some of your experience. Did the embassy asked you questions about public charge, which is the new rule? It was in effect since Feb 24.

Did they adjudicate your case using the older rule?

Sorry for the late response...My wife got her visa approved. she was was interviewed a week ahead of the official date. WE were not asked questions related to the new public rule, she was asked few questions such as:

who is petitioning for you? when was the last time he visited you? was i married before? what is my occupation? they pointed a finger on a person in her album and asked who that person was?.. She was approved .Thank you and good luck to you on your journey...

Hi, I am filling out the I-864 and am stuck at the 'Applicant's mailing address' part. I am sponsoring my wife who is in West Africa. She doesn't have a mailing address because the postal system is not the same as here and people don't have mailing addresses. Can I use my own US mailing address?

i did it for my wife as well, you don't actually have to put the address as it is in USA. Just put her city and her town/country that she live in you will be fine.

  4. Hello everyone,

i been searching online to see if anyone has answered this one already. I am actually gathering the documents required at National Visa Center. So my question is, i had more than one job in the previous years and quite frankly i can't find my W-2 but can surely get all my tax transcripts. Do i need to get those W-2 or will tax transcript get the job done? For those who went through NVC please HELP. Thank you

The first time I applied for the expedite on 4/8/2019 they denied it without requesting documentation.

I learned about this by calling the USCIS for a second time 4/19/2019 to find the status of the original expedition. I was very emotional on the call because at the beginning of it I learned of the first expedition denial. I was shocked they did this because of the true nature of my wife's medical situation, but upon asking the customer service representative what the original representative had wrote for my reason of expedite, she told me all that was in the case file was "expedite for medical emergency". The original representative on the first call did not write any of the details that I had explained to her over the phone and the USCIS didn't need any supporting documentation before they denied it.

On the second call 4/19/2019, the representative told me I could file another expedition request and she would write down all the details. Without explaining everything I said because its of a personal nature, I told her in precise detail my living situation and all of my wife's medical complications. I also told her I have a doctors note and additional medical records to explain everything and the reason needed for expedition. The representative read back everything she had wrote down and expressed to me that it did indeed sound like an emergency, she also wrote in the case notes that I have supporting documentation to be reviewed.

I waited about a week for a response and received no mail or email, so I called on 4/30/2019 at the USCIS number for a third time to find out when they would need the supporting documentation. The representative told me it wasn't necessary because the expedition and petition had already been approved that day. I was shocked again because I thought it was near certain to get denied because of the original denial and the USA's stance toward immigration at the moment. I am very lucky when I called on 4/19/2019, the representative was very compassionate and understanding. I think the only reason it was approved was because I got the right person on the phone. It is my belief the USCIS approves less than 2-3% of expeditions.

Thank you. I am about to request an expedite for a pregnant wife with complications as well.

I would like to share my experience just in case some of you may be in a similar situation.

My wife and I applied for her CR1 Spouse visa on 11/29/2018 and we were approved for an expedite by the USCIS on 4/22/2019. Within a week, her NOA 2 was Approved on 4/30/2019 and is currently being sent to the NVC. The situation that caused my wife to receive the expedite was she is pregnant and has had extreme complications throughout the pregnancy. She has been admitted to the hospital many times over the past 5 months and the doctor has instructed her she remain on bed rest for the remainder of the pregnancy because of an increased chance to lose the baby and she is not able to give birth naturally. This has also caused an extreme financial hardship because I have had to relocate to Bogota, Colombia to take care of her at all times in the day. I work as an investment professional and it is extremely important I visit clients face to face, as a result of my living situation I have lost business.

I applied for an expedite 2 times in April, which the first one was denied and the second approved.

I applied for an expedite in early April and was denied because the representative did not record the reason for my expedite. I only found out about this when I called the USCIS 10 days later and they told me the reason they denied it was because of insufficient evidence. I spoke with the initial representative for over 20 minutes and she only recorded for official record that I had a medical emergency and no details. After speaking with the different USCIS representative on a second phone call in middle April, she included all details in a second request for expedite. Then it was approved.

Now we move onto the NVC process and I am hoping to expedite this as well because I want my wife to have American medical care when the baby is born. I am terrified of complications and want my wife and our future baby happy and healthy.

I hope for a speedy visa process for all, I shared this because it is possible to get an expedite if you have a genuine medical or financial emergency.

Thank you for sharing your experiences. I have a question about that..Did you have to submit some evidence to prove the complication? Congratulations on your quick approval and will keep your family in my prayers for a safe delivery...

I’m just amazed that anyone can be ready to marry someone after one visit. And that someone can be sure that someone else is a suitable step-parent for their children after one meeting. This aside from all the immigration matters.

How good is her English? Or do you speak Russian? Have you petitioned anyone before? Was she married to the father of her children? If so, how long ago did that marriage end?

I am shocked when some of y'all are here just to judge people. You have to understand one thing this is a support group for all of us, not a place to go about judging each other. It  works for everyone differently so please before you say something irrelevant think about all factors involved...Show some respects and compassion...

  8. Toc Toc Toc!

I been asking the same question after being ignored so many times. I taught we were a support group. So my fiancee went for her interview on July 25th..The C.O asked few questions kept all of her official documents(copies not original), returned her passport and told her she will be contacted in the next 60 days. So far she been in Administrative Processing. Each time i emailed the Embassy i am been told that i will be contacted or she will be soon. This whole process has been crazy and stressful, i don't know if anyone had some almost same experience to share with me. i just need to know where we are standing in the process...

  9. Please Help!!!

    Spoiler

My embassy is in Togo, so after my fiancee interview this morning, the CO kept my affidavit of support, my fiancee 2 passports pictures and her birth certificate. He gave her a pink slip stating further investigation and they will call her back. They returned her passport to her, can someone please tell me if they know any similar experience. Please help me, it is stressing me out not knowing what is going on.

can you please start sending me the mail you sent to the embassy? second, you may know that the embassy may be very busy by this times why? its the summer and a lot of visitors visa are being processing and at the same time a lot of diversity visa. you may also be aware that the for K1 vIsa, K3 AND ALL FAMILY BASED VISA, the embassy have only 2 day per week for that and if THERE is no window available for appointment,  your fiancee may not be contacted yet. if you mail the embassy, you'll need to wait at least for 5 bussiness days no weekend include to receive an answer

Thank you @jean baptiste i finally got an email this morning, she should go on monday to pick up the letter. Welcome to America brother....
