  1. All CR1/IR1 visa applications go through CDJ consulate. It does not matter where you live. You can request a medical exam at one of three approved clinics in Mexico. You should do this only after you have received the interview date. The consulate will let the NVC know when they are ready for your interview and the NVC will give you a date and time via email. Follow the steps below once you receive an interview date: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/CDJ-Ciudad-Juarez.html#medical_exam_instructions
  2. Last time i heard they were doing K1 visas on CDMX, but CR1/IR1 visas were going through CDJ.
  3. "Ready" means the NVC has everything they need from you. They are now waiting for the consulate to give you an interview date. All you can do now is just wait.
  4. That's the wrong link. The correct link is: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-mx/iv/ Login and there should be a button in there to upload additional documents.
  5. I don't know the situation in Mexico City, but i assume is the same as the consulate in Ciudad Juarez. Only the applicant will be able to enter the consulate building to drop off documents and for the interview. I don't have an answer the other questions. Good luck!
  6. Sounds like you are the petitioner. If their case is still with the NVC, submit a public inquiry to change the petitioner's address: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html You may also need to contact USCIS: https://egov.uscis.gov/coa/coaCreate.do If you have already received an interview date, you'll also need to contact the US Consulate: https://mx.usembassy.gov/contact/ It does take them 4-6 weeks to respond, so be patient.
  7. call the consulate! There is a chance they already have a date available for your appointment. It takes them a while to send out the email notification. From Mexico: (656) 227-3000 From the U.S.: 011 52 (656) 227-3000 Options 2, 3, 1, 1
  8. It was an IR-1 visa, but once your case is "Ready" I don't think it matters very much. They'll just schedule the appointment as soon as they can. I was notified four weeks prior to the appointment. Nov 8, 2021 - Changed to "Ready" Jan 13, 2022 - Received email with appointment date Feb 10, 2022 - Interview appointment.
  9. Not sure how long is taking now, but mine switched to "Ready" in November, 2021 and took two whole months to receive the interview appointment date.
  10. I did my process back in February 2022. There are two or three bridges. Have a taxi take you to "Puente Internacional Paso del Norte". They will leave you at the bridge. You walk the bridge and at the end of the bridge you'll see a building with multiple doors. You need to go through the doors on the right side labeled "Visas" to have your passport stamped. Then you go back out and enter through any of the other doors for inspection. If you get confused, simply ask any officer and they will tell you where to go. Once you're inspected, keep walking forward and you'll end up in El Paso in a small shopping district. You can call for an Uber/taxi from there to the airport, or wherever you want to go. Some taxis will take you to the bridge and pick you up on the other side, but not many do this.
