I am happy to say that my journey ended today with my interview being held this morning. I am in the NYC area. Interview went well no questions were asked except for my medical, passport and birth certificate originals. They were looked and given back. I was approved on spot... I must add my lawyer was presence. 

My timeline

I-360, I-485,I-765 filed Dec 6 2016

1st EAD approved Feb 2017

Sent renewal EAD November 2017 Approved 2nd EAD Mar 2018.

I-360 Approval July 6, 2018

EAD C31 received July 11 2018

I-485 transferred to local office August 2018.

Interview  and medical notice received Jan 29, 2019

Interview scheduled for Feb 25, 2019

Interview held approved 

Feb 25, 2019 Update Card is being produced. 

 

Now waiting for card in the mail.

Yes you should receive it within 1week or so, uscis now partner with SSA to issue SSN immediately after they issue EAD, their reason is to speed up the process of getting SSN. If you read the EAD form carefully you will see the information written on it.

ooh i see they don’t give notifications online for medicals,they just mailed them out!Maybe it’s transferred to local office,just be patient and wait for your attorney to get back to you then!I know its heart breaking when ur attorney don’t get back to u in time.

what do you mean by it was reopened and approved in Nov?because when you vawa gets approved,your I-485 gets transfer to NBC then NBC transfers it to local office and NBC will issue you courtesy letter for medicals and then ur local office schedules ur interview and it also depends on ur field office too.So when did u get online notifications that ur 1-485 was transferred to another office?

I attended my interview today everything went well. I did not take my lawyer to me.

 

The interview lasted about 10 minutes I was sworn in and finger printed then asked to confirm my name. My medical and passport was checked and I was asked some yes or no questions from the i485 form. She never mentioned the abuse, marriage etc. she did ask if I was divorced and took a copy of the divorce decree.

 

After the above she told me I was approved and my GC will be sent to my Lawyer’s office. Within 5 minutes I received an update that my card was being produced.

 

I am so elated that the process is over. I wish you all the very best...and thank you to everyone for your support.

im confused tho. When I asked them to put I-485 on hold until VAWA adjudication w/c they did, wouldn’t that automatically make my previous 485 based on VAWA? 

how many times have you filed for I-485?becuase from my understanding it seems you had filed twice already.My best advice for you now is to hire an experienced attorney!Look for money and do that it’s worth trying because experience attorney will know what to do.

@MGJ_NY sorry my dear,they seem to be a problem with EAD file in August,because the EAD that i filed in August is still pending it was category C-14,but the one i filed in october category C09 was approved and mailed out already.So i think you should do info pass.Its really sad!

i believe she use to live in Atlanta before and the she moved to Pennsylvania before the interview was scheduled!Remeber on ur 1-485 it is said that you should give ur physical address and the lawyer address is for him to deal with immigration directly .Well i believe my lawyer won’t lie to me.I have been doing my biometrics at my local office so why then will i go and do my interview somewhere else??

nope your local office is where you live not your lawyer!i was so worried and confused so i asked my lawyer she said i will have my interview where i live not she lives.because in youyforms you put ur address there .

@MsSara it’s been a while please i need some information from you!I can understand ur ex spouse was a lpr and since ur vawa approval did u get ur interview already?and please can you share ur timeline please!!Thanks a lot

As Sandra mentioned here several times, once your 360 is approved, Vermont will ship your 485 to NBC after 30/45 days, your case will be at NBC for another 30/45 days (mine was there for more than 90 days) and then NBC will ship your case to your local office where you are living (your address on your 485 form) and your interview will be scheduled there.

 

Some people got update when their case transferred/received at local office, but I only received one update “Case Was Transferred And A New Office Has Jurisdiction” since my 360 approval and the status keep the same until now, even when I already received interview notice.

 

We never know how long does it take to get the interview notice. So better keep praying and update your address with uscis if you move.

 

My experience with updating my address was painful. I did send 2 notarized letter to Vermont but none of them got response.

 

But finally, when my case is at local office. I was able to change my address by making an InfoPass and change the address there successfully!

okay!thanks alot ,the problem is that i file my adjustment of status in october 2018 so i guess that might slow down my own interview!
