No interview, and we didn't provide any affidavits.
That's good, congrats for you both. I think it went well because you also provided your house deed with your name and your wife's name. That's good for you too. Thank you so much for your respond 😊

We provided bank statements, tax return transcripts, credit card statements, car insurance, electric bill (which is just in my name), water bill (just in hers) and a copy of the title of our house. We didn't think of the phone bill and forgot about the 401K beneficiary info.
My wife was approved with no RFE.
Wow congrats, but did your wife and you have interview? I heard some couple had interview for ROC. And did you send affidavit from friends or family?
Thank you much for your respond, I really appreciate it.

I don't think that's necessary. Do you have shared bank accounts? Shared credit card accounts? "Shared" car insurance? There are plenty of other ways to provide evidence besides utility bills.
I have shared bank accounts, joint tax return, family joint phone bills, driver license, bill for repairing car: my husband's name on the receipt and my name on the paid receipt, 401k me as beneficiary. That's it. But I heard some people did it. They change their parents bill name to their name. How about you? Did you do it?
Thanks for your response.

This VJ guide is very good, imo. https://www.visajourney.com/content/751guide/
Thank you so much for your information. May I ask you a question?
I and my husband live in my parents in law's house. All the bills are under my parents in law's name.
1. Should I change the bills name to my name? Or should I change the bills name that I and my husband can afford to pay every month?
Thank you so much for your respond 😊

Hello everyone,
My name is Tiur and I and my husband live in Kansas, with my parents in law.
I just want to know all of your experience who live with parents in law. When you want to ROC, what documents do you prepare? I and my husband live with my parents in law, we are students and part time workers.
Thanks 😊

Yes, ours is filed as of May.
Our list of proof for ROC is:
Joint Car loan for 2016 Nissan Rogue in both our names
Joint Car loan for 2016 Hyundai Accent in both our namesDocument showing we are each others beneficiaries for our own 401Ks and stock plans
Documents showing we are each others beneficiary to life insurance plans
2016 and 2017 tax returns filled jointly
Cable bill in his name to our home address
Electric bill in my name to our home address
Paystubs showing same home address
Apartment lease in both of our names for 2017 and 2018
School registration showing that he is an emergency contact for my daughter
Car insurance in both of our names
Renters insurance in his name for the houseJoint bank account where all of the money goes in both of our names
Christmas cards addressed to us
Pictures of us on vacation, out with my daughter, family gatherings etc.
Hotel bill from vacation
And then if we get RFE'd for a lease for 2016, I'm going to send a statement saying that I never had him added onto my apartment lease, but we have his drivers license with that address showing he lived there. It also was the addressed used for AOS and the entire K-1 process.
And then if we need more proof we'll add adoption of two cats, cell phone activity showing how much we text and talk, copy of records showing he can take my daughter to doctors appointments as an approved adult, updated info of anything out of date by the time they get to the case, statements from family and friends, and anything else I can find.Oh I see, I will discuss it to my husband. thank you so much for your help.

Agreed. Y’all need to start filing taxes as married. That’s one of the first things they look for is tax returns.
Start helping with the bills where you can, like the above said have some form of written agreement about the living situation. Open a joint checking account and if there are credit cards make sure you’re on each other’s cards.
anything that both of your names are on (insurance, car title, loan, bank account, bills, etc) is what you are looking for.
Oh I see, have you filed I-751? Thank you for your help

Get joint credit cards, joint bills, he should stop being on their tax return and you should file married (jointly or separately.), even if you two choose to live with your in laws you should create some sort of lease and contribute to bills and pay a little each month. At the very least this allows you some independence.
Oh I see, so we should have something that have our names on it right? So I got my social security number this month, December. What month and year do I need to file I-751?
Iam confused here, some people say I should file before my second anniversary so it will be like next year. This month is our first anniversary. And what I know it's 2 years green card.
Thank you before

Hello everyone, I just got my social security number and I came to US with spouse visa CR1. I and my husband live with my husband's parents. We think about the next step: removal of condition I751. I know even though it's too early I just want to prepare everything.
As a young couple, what documents should we have for removal of condition? My parents in law pay for every bills (gas water trash electricity) and my husband is still their dependant on their tax return. They support us financially even though my husband also works as a part time worker and he is also an university student. Do you have the same experience like this?
Thank you

Hello everyone. My case is at NVC. I have been working on my ds260. I am confused at part "work/education/training information".
I have quited from my job as teacher. And I started to study computer science by online, Udemy.com.
I want to write my online course on that part "work/education/training information". But it's online, how do I write the address of it?
Or should I not write that information on that part?
Please your advice. Thank you

Well, they could actually worry about you wanting to AOS in the US rather than doing a CR1/IR1 because your husband is in the US.
Family is not an important factor as a tie to Indonesia since your husband will be in the US and you are planning to move there through the IR1/CR1.
A good job might be a good tie.
You might want to apply for a visitor visa a.s.a.p. before marrying or submitting any form. If being able to get a visitor visa is important for your decision between a K1 and a spousal visa, then it is better to know whether you can actually get one. Otherwise, if you go the spousal visa route you won't be able to visit 12-14 months.
If i choose spouse visa, am i not allowed to visit him while they are working on my case?

Your ability to visit him with a visitor visa will depend on (1) ability to get visitor visa based on ties to your country (2) if you already have a visitor visa, keep the ties to your country in case you are asked about it when you enter the US.
Many people visit their fiance or spouse in the US. However, some are unable to get visitor visas and cannot visit, so it will depend on that. I'm not aware about how hard it is to get one in Indonesia.
I think to get a tourist visa is not that difficult. They just want to make sure that you won't be an illegal immigrant there. You will come back to your country for some reason like for your job and your family.
And for sure, i will come back because i don't want my case doesn't work.
Thank you for sharing this information with me

Haii everyone, please your advice.
I and my fiance are confused to choose what visa we should take. We were preparing our fiance visa but suddenly we want to do spouse visa. My question is after i get married with him and we apply for spouse visa, ( so the spouse visa is processing) can i visit him with the tourist visa?

Hi everyone, please your advice
I just started my new job as a teacher a few days ago, July 2017. The school asks me to work for at least a year. I can't get off day a few months later (until the sixth months) because i am a new teacher there. So i am confused what month should i apply for my fiance visa. If i want to have the visa on June 1, 2018, should i apply my visa on October or November? Please your advice everyone.
Thank you

No, you do not need a lawyer. Why throw away good money when you have the vj forum to walk you through the process. My wife came on a k1 and her 4 kids on a k2 and i did all the paperwork myself and using this forum. On June 27th this year my wife and the girls received their 10 year green cards. Next week we will be filing for us citizenship for my wife. During the whole process we did not receive an rfe for the visas, aos or roc partly due by reading the forums on vj.
I agree that if it is a straight forward case no no on the lawyer......
oh i see, Thank you for your advice. no need a laywer then

Oh i see, okay I wil tell my fiance's parents about this. They are just too worried about us because they really want me to get the visa. Yeah you are right, we just must believe ourself that we can get through this proccess. As long as we have a good intention, we will get the best result. Thank you guys for all of your advices @Scandi @KULtoATL @Bill & Katya @usmsbow @theanswerisdance I really appreciate it
