There is a new thing on my online uscis account today! When I click on view case activity, it shows the estimated completion date! My fellow July 2017 filers have also checked theirs and confirmed the same thing!!! This is a new development! Hopefully it's true! .

So if you filed online, go check your account. 

Based on my personal experience, the filing online will help expediting the process up to fingerprinting. I filed online, got my NOA, cc charged on the same day. Within 2 days, my biometrics was scheduled for the next 13 days. 

After that, from what I observed, it depends on your field office. I got estimated completion date on April 2018 (8 months). And I consider that very fast since my application is processed by Dallas FO (which is considered the slowest in the country). 

This whole process will not happen in a month or two but, so far, my application has been moving along quite impressively. I am happy if they finish my application within a year.

Yeah, That's what I was asking yesterday It seems like they "touched" my application on 8/4 but I got everything by that date (NOA, FP letter). Guess that answers my question.

Let's hope that's true since I still have pending I751.

For those of you who filed online, I checked my USCIS online account today and when I click view case detail : There is a big green writing said Estimated case completion time : April 2018 (8 months). I never heard anyone mentioned it. Did any of you see it in your online acct?

I am quite happy if they finish my case within a year considering Dallas FO is one of the slowest in the country.

Hello, I was looking at my online account today (I filed online) and it said last updated on 8/4/17 but I didn't see anything new.

Background info: the system posted PDF bio-metrics online on 8/2 for appt. on 8/15, I got the letter in the mail 8/5. I wonder what they updated on 8/4. Has it happened to you?

My GC expired in Oct 2016. The extension will expire in Oct 2017. I would suggest that you plan to get a stamp soon. I personally don't think we will get the 10 years GC by this year (esp for CSC filers). The officer in my infopass told me it can take years.

I think it depends on the office where you are going. For Irving, TX I notice that they always have slot available when I checked at 5 am in the weekday.

I got my stamp last week when my GC extension expires in Oct. When I got there, I only said I needed the I 551 stamp. The officer just stamped me without any questions. Also, it may not work for everyone but I tried to make conversation (such as asking how their days are going, summer vacation ). At the end, she didn't even ask about my GC and started talking about her vacation .Good luck to you!

That is not true. You can apply for citizenship after 3 years GC (conditional or not) - 90 days if you are married to US citizen. The system does not differentiate conditional or permanent. I applied for N 400 last week with GC conditional date 10/18/14. I dont have 10 years GC yet.

Hi, I had the same issues as you as my GC card is 10/18/14. I waited for a week and it still has not moved. I decided to just skip the whole thing and went to N400 online application (you have that option when you first started). I think as long as the USCIS filing calculator shows you are eligible, just go ahead and apply. Make sure when you attach the docs, the file name does not contain coma or period, or other symbols. The max file is 6 mb. 

I applied last Wednesday and am currently waiting for my fp appointment letter to arrive in the mail. I am glad I filed online.

I woke up this morning with "scary" email from USCIS - We updated your case and It needs your attention (with exclamation symbol). I immediately signed in because I was worried that they are rejecting my application ( paranoid much  ). It turns out to be a good one. They scheduled my biometrics. No letter posted yet but last updated today. So hopefully the letter will be posted soon. But it was so quick, considering I e-filed on Wednesday.

Also, my I 751 is still pending (ROC extension exp Oct 2017). I went to infopass appt and the officer is very nice and stamped my passport without questions. Now I dont have to worry about my work authorization until next year if my N400 or I 751 are moving slow.

Hi All, My GC extension expires on 10/18/17. I went to info pass today and said that I needed I551 stamp. The officer is very nice and she just stamped on my passport without any questions. The expiration date a year from now (7/28/2018). She said as long as my case is still pending, I can keep coming back to get more stamp after. She mentioned that some i751 process can take years. 

Also, I submitted my N400 application online this week so hopefully that will adjudicate my I751.

@Going through is the NOA posted online basically saying the date I submitted the application? Also it mentions " we will begin reviewing application, background check etc etc". If it is then I got it. And you are right, I got an email saying my case has been updated. Now the waiting game begins....

Don't fret....I did too as soon as I filed online.  You will get the online NOA if not tomorrow then the next day.  One tip I learned from someone on another forum:

 

Watch the top right corner of your case status page---it will show a "last updated on" date.  This means that some sort of action has been taken on your case.  If your case status remains the same, but you notice the date changes, from my experience this normally means something has been physically mailed out...and then you can watch for it in the mail.

Yes I did! I got a text for password every time I log in to the website. 

@Going through Hi, I have several questions. How soon did you see the NOA was posted online after you submitted N400 online? I am presuming there will be an email or phone alert if immigration posted something online right? Also, do you remember when you finally got the NOA paper in the mail after submitting the application?

Yes, I have been reading a lot about the online filing. After days of deliberations, I decided to go ahead with it. It seems people have better and faster responses by filing it online.

The lesson that I learned today is when you upload the documents, do not name the file using coma or period. Just use dash (-). The system freaked out when I used coma or period and that delayed me for a few hours before my (nerd) husband figured it out!!!

GC-Date: The 'Resident Since' Date located on your first green card.
Sent: Date N-400 was mailed to USCIS.
Cashd: Date your check was cashed / credit card was charged by USCIS.
NOA: Receipt Notice Date Printed on your official I-797 notification.
Fprints:  Date assigned for fingerprinting (Biometrics). If you do your biometrics via walk-in prior to your scheduled appointment, please enter the date in bold blue.
In Line: Date you received e-notification about the start of your interview scheduling.
Int Ltr: Date you received the official letter in the mail regarding interview.
Interview: Date of your interview.

Yeah I read about the glitch but based on the forums, I noticed the online is still moving faster. My husband and I are leaning towards the online stuffs, of course until it rolls over one more day. It's so close yet so far..... Either way, I have all the papers and electronic version ready to go.. Good luck to both of us!!!

I actually just clicked yes the second option ("did you get your conditional GC between September 27,2012 and September 27 2014) just to see what would happen and it did in fact let me access the application. I thought that when I put in my GC anniversary date later it would maybe give me problems but it did in fact let me proceed even after I put that I received my GC on Sept 30th 2014. Not sure if it'll actually let me submit the entire thing...

Yes, I actually did select the option between Oct 17, 2012 - Oct 17, 2014 and it allowed me to go through! Then my husband got freaked out so I deleted the draft case. I think I will wait until next week and see if the date changes. It definitely moves from when I checked 2 weeks ago. I am guessing it rolls over every Monday. When are you planning to submit the application? I am sure you can do it now.
