  1. Just had a quick question about the evidence of marriage.  I've asked my property manager multiple times for something listing my wife as an occupant in my apartment, but his boss will not return my emails to provide it.  I also just changed jobs recently so I do not have official documentation of her as a beneficiary/on my health insurance outside of the basic summary I was provided when electing benefits.

As a result, all we really have are photos together/with my family and her name listed on my bank account.  Is this going to be an issue?

No. If you have read this entire thread you would know that others have also had their interviews scheduled.  It depends on your local office.  Your office likely doesn't have a back log.

Sorry I haven't been checking the thread recently.  I figured none of this would happen for at least a few months so I didn't want to drive myself crazy checking all the time like I did with the K1

"Ready to be Scheduled" doesn't necessarily mean one will be scheduled immediately. Some people continue to wait a few months after it changes to that - it's typical after you've completed your biometrics. However, once the status changes to "Interview Has Been Scheduled", you should expect your interview summons in the mail within a few days.

How far out do they typically schedule them?  Ours is in the mail but I'm pretty surprised at how fast it happened after the biometrics appointment

Can you get him/her on your banking accounts? Add them to your life insurance? My credit union and work both offer free policies I easily added my spouse to. There's also car insurance, rental contract, etc. The more, the better, but at this point they're understanding. If you don't have much, you'll just need to get more together later on.

It’s going to be nearly impossible to get her added to my bank accounts/insurance. I’m time. By the time she gets her SS number in the mail after marriage we will have like a week before we hit the 90 day mark that she would have to leave

    NOA1

    June 6, 2017

    K1 VISA APPROVED today.

    Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

This part of our journey is now complete.  It's been long and we've had our share of anxiety.  Some of you have had it much harder than us....

We wish you all well on a successful completion.  This site and our June group has made the process much more bearable.  Thank you, all.

    Ana and Joe

If it makes you feel any better they are pretty fast after NOA2.  We are through Rio as well.  NOA2 date was 2/12 and we have her interview scheduled for April 10th already .

Did the embassy specifically ask you for tax returns or a w2, or are you self employed?  If the embassy asks for either then you need them, and if you are self employed you need a tax return, but otherwise the instructions don't ask for either of them.

They’ll ask for them and i’ll provide them of course.I mean I’m not gonna just rely on just my taxes/W2 as my sole evidence because they’d 100% reject us in that case. It’s frustrating that my tax return is the main factor in their decision because I make more than enough and it’s provable

They won't change their mind, in my case i had the wrong form instead of i-134 i had the i-864 form and they didn't take it. I wasn't rejected and they didnt ask for the i-134 neither, i had the last tax return and W2 with me and they said this was enough. Don't worry they won't rejects her.

She needs to have the 3 docs: i-134, Tax return, and W2. this will be enough to confirm you can support her until marriage

Ill need to focus on other proof. I make well above the poverty line but only worked July-Dec 31st in 2017 so my income looks lower on my taxes than it really is. I’m sending my taxes/w2, I-134, employee rletter, bank statement and like 7 months of pay stubs. Gonna get my mom to co-sponsor too since it appears they only care what your past taxes show

Dekd22, US embassy in Rio confirmed with me via e-mail they accept the form with printed signature, you dont need to send original file.

You can also confirm or clear any doubt at ImmigrationRio@state.gov

Ok fantastic, that will save me quite a bit of time and money in that case. If for some reason they change their minds would they outright reject the visa or allow us to send the original copy?
