my hubby also has his interview at New delhi embassy on 5/24/07. I am going to india next week and plan to attend the interview with him.......hopefully they will allow me. if not, then thats fine too...atleast i will be there by his side.

You may want to check with the Embassy's website to make sure this is still what they do, but when Suj's visa was approved they took his passport and he received his passport with visa in it just a couple days later by courier.

OH Boy,

It took you almost 4 months after receiving the approval. My wife will also be going thru New Delhi. I was hoping that it will take 2 or 2^1/2 months. Lets see what happens.

I'm confused. You mean the I129-F approval?

Because his visa was approved the same day as the interview.

I think he is saying it took approx 4 months from when NVC received the application and assigned a case # to when they got the interview.

Sandip's application just got to the NVC recently.

Looking at some folk's timelines, they have mailed aos payment and emailed the agent form as soon as NVC assigns a number but before NVC have produced the agent/aos bill...
James' short cuts say to wait until these documents are produced but mailing from the UK, I reckon the documents will be produced or nearly produced when my aos payment arrives at the NVC

Any successful experiences please ?

I sent mine off AFTER they were produced by NVC (verified by calling the automated NVC phone system). If you do what you are suggesting, it'll only save you a couple of days at the very most, and it may cause some issues if in fact NVC receives this information before it has been produced/generated. I would advise you on holding off until the automated message states clearly that they specific documents have been generated.

Have a quick question regarding the $380 DD. Did you not pay that at the NVC since you are doing a CR1 visa?

Why did you have to pay for it again?

we were trying the DCF rout(US citizen resident in India can walk-in to the Delhi embassy and file I-130), so it was not through NVC. That means we have to pay $380 at the time of the interview.

O.K.. good to know. Your timeline didn't indiciate DCF that's why I was wondering.

Does the NVC sends everything through DHL or just the package to the consulate after the case is complete? What method is used by NVC to send things such as DS 3032, IV bill and DS 230 to the beneficiary? It may be a simple question but I need this information. Thanks in advance.

Other than the official transfer of the petition, NVC will use the US Postal Service for communication with Petitioner and Beneficiary. The Consulates and Embassies tend to use in country courier delivery of some sort for their communication to the applicant/beneficiary.

Thanks. The thing that I am worried about is that this could really slow the process. In many countries such as India, the postal service system is not very reliable and is very slow. So if NVC sends something out to India through USPS, it would take more than 15 days just to get to the beneficiary.

That is where James's shortcuts come into play.

If you are doing the CR/IR1 process only, the NVC will send to your wife in India the Choice of Agent form. When the NVC sends it, you can actually send an e-mail to the NVC (through your wife's e-mail account, set one up if she does not have one) assigning yourself as the Choice of Agent. When NVC acknowledges this, the NVC will send all the documents that would have gone to your wife in India, to you here in the USA.

I have a lawyer who filled out G-28 Notice of Entry of Appearance as Attorney when we filled out I130. I spoke to the people at NVC and I was told that they will send everything to my lawyer. Does this mean that I don't have to worry about the mailing process to India?

If you have a lawyer then all the paperwork will go to him and not to your wife. The only thing that your wife will now get is most likely Packet 4 or the interview packet.
