For all that have used Jame's shortcut.. My NVC case number was just assigned today. I'll be using Jame's shortcuts, as many of you have said it works great.

I have a question on generating the barcode though.. do I just type in the numberical values of the case numer or do I have to type in the entier number incuding the 3 alpha characters? In my case would I enter it as BMB########## or just the ##########?

Does this apply for all the bar codes that need to be generated?

As I understand it they are increasing the fees because the immigration service is almost fully funded by the fee's people pay. If they do sigfinicantely increase the fee's which prices people out of the immigration process will mean fewer applications, thus less fees, thus a decrease in funding for the immigration department, which will lead to cutting staff and budget's and a much worser experience for those that can afford to go through the process..

I see nothing good in this.

My SO and I use webcams, unfortunately she is on dial-up (in India high-speed connection is too expensive where she lives) and I'm on high-speed. The connection using MSN and Yahoo are very bad for both video and chat.. how does this compare to using SKYPE? would the quality suck if I'm on broadband and she on dial-up?

I use hotmail, and e-mails from USCIS were being sent to my junk mail folder. The e-mails come from either USCIS-SRMT@dhs.gov or USCIS-CSSO@dhs.gov Add both to your approved list and you should be all set.

Don't worry about touches.. I submited my I-130 back in September.. I didn't have any touches, and then this past Monday, the approval came through.

I was getting worried, but honestly don't be. I think the average time for approval is about 70-80 days, if you go past 100 days or so, is when the worrying should start..

All I can advise is being patient... my NOA2 was approved yesterday.. I had no touches until yesterday when they sent me an e-mail stating that my I-130 was approved. During this time, I noticied that people who filed after me were getting approved before me.. sure I was gettting pissed.. but all you can do is wait and pray that your approval will come through sooner rather than later..

by the way.. not sure if these means anything or not, I had a dream about my wife last night (she's in India) and this morning an e-mail from USCIS was wating for me in my in-box.. coincidence????

It's a simpler version of the I-864.. the EZ form is used if you meet a certian criteria.. such as above the poverty line.. only sponsoring 1 person.. and if you don't have a co-sponsor

I just got my NOA2 approval for my CR1/IR1 application. It's now on it's way to the NVC. I have a couple of quick questions on the AOS I-864 application.

I have verified that I can submit the I-864EZ so I'm all good there.

My question is on part 4 - Sponser's Houshold size. The only person I'm sponsoring is my spouse.

Question 16A is already pre-populated with "2" which includes myself and the person i'm sponsoring.

Question 16B is for the spouse

Do I leave that blank since she is already included in 16A?

Also, what other evidence do I need to submit with my AOS? I read folks talk about submiting "bank letters" and "employment letters" etc..

Can someone provide me with a list of all evidence documents I need to submit with the I-864EZ?

I just don't want to get any RFE's

Looks like we are fairly close on our timelines.. want to bet on who finishes this marathon first?

Can't believe it.. filed for CR1/IR1 in September, and just received five e-mails from USCIS that my I-130 was approved on the 27th of November!

I had no touches at all and was begining to worry that my application was lost/misplaced..

I'm at work and when I checked my e-mail.. I let out a big WOHOO! and my co-workers asked if I had won the lottery.. honestly receiving my NOA2 feels better than winning the lottery:lol:

Well it's now time for NVC to do their thing.. hope it will be smooth sailing

For those of you still waiting and without any touches.. hang in there.. your time will soon come

I would have to say Charlotte NC.. I've lived here for the past 7 years and I love it. You have all 4 seasons.. the city of Charlotte is not like Atlanta and New York where you are constantly stuck in traffic jams. The cost of living is low compared to some of the other "bigger cities". The beach is about 3.5 hours away for the summer sun lovers.. the mountains are about 3 hours away for those who like winter sports.. and depending on the type of work you do, Charlotte is the second largest financial hub next to NYC.. several of the major banks are corporately headquarted here.. and lastly, it is a great place to bring up kids if you have any...

I have been using Reliance service to call India. It cost's about 13cents a min. I was wondering what calling plans other use to call India and the prices you pay. Is there anything cheaper out there? Calling my wife on a regualr basis is costing me a fortune, and was looking for something that may be a little cheaper

Go with Bank of America. They are the biggest consumer bank in the country have branches in almost every state, as well as on-line banking etc.. I'm with Bank of America, and a U.K ex-pat, I go back to the U.K often, and I believe Bank of America and Natwest have some sort of relationship where they don't charge you an extra fee to use your Bank of America ATM card at a Natwest ATM in the U.K

I am so mad at myself right now- I just got a court date for speeding. What is up with that! In NC, I guess if you are over a certian amt you get a court date......

I'm in NC as well. I got done for speeding a while back, and was also given a court order. I was advised to get a lawyer to plead my case. I spoke to several work mates and they said that I can get away without a lawyer if I plead for a "prayer for judgement" or something to that effect. Essentially what the prayer for judgement does is, the judge will keep your file on record for 2 year (more or less not sure). You'll have to go to traffic school for about 5 hours and pay court fees etc.. If within 2 years you re-offend, they'll hit you up for both offences!

I pleaded for a prayer for judgement, paid my fees went to traffic school etc.. and all was fine. I did not get points on my licence and my insurance did not go up either.

Not sure if other North Carolian folks have done the "prayer for judgement" and can offer more advice or clarification on this..

All I've ever seen is the odd old Champions League game/Premiership game on ESPN, anyone have the Fox Soccer Channel, is that any good?

If you want Premiership games you don't have much choice, FSC is the only channel that shows them.

As for whether they're any good, well they show the football with English commentators during the game, but there's no decent pre-game or mid-game punditry (mid game is basically diet pill adverts), and the guy who does the "announcing" is f***ing annoying. Still, beggars can't be choosers and they do show more Premiership games on TV on FSC than they do on Sky Sports in the UK I believe (as Saturday 3pm games are shown, unlike in the UK).

If you don't have FSC (Fox Soccer Channel) try downloading this attached .exe file. It is a internet TV player mostly based out of Asia. If you have highspeed internet connection it should work fine for you. There are a couple of sports channels listed to the left hand side. The one you want to connect to is "10006 Star Sports" they show premiership as well as champions league games with proper English commentators. I actually got to see the England (home game qualifer for the European Championships)

Not sure exactly which game(s) they show on this channel, but typically I'll check to see what games are on and at what time, and then check out the TVU player.. if it's on then sweet!

Any September i-130 filers received their elusive NOA2's yet? I been reading some posts by August filers that they have theirs.. so I guess CSC should be working through September.. hopfully some of us September folks may truly have something to be thankful for come Thanksgiving..

Should I get my hopes up this Thanksgiving and give my Turkey a reprive as I would be so greatful and thankful to CSC for getting of their backside and doing thier job , or do you think Santa will coming knocking on my door bearing a christmas gift from CSC by year end?

I've just begun this long and ardous journey, and I'm am very optimistic that this journey will be painfree (somewhat), based on postings that I have read.

I'm a Naturalized citizen got married in India in early August, and came back to the States at the end of August. I applied through the i130 process (CSC) in Sept and received my NOA1 on Sep 15th or so. Looking at some of the time lines, it seems as though CSC is working on August and some Sept applications, and so I hope that means I'll have my NOA2 by end of December at the latest. Am I being too optomistic???

My question is, does the process go any faster if I had also applied for a K3 visa as well? or does it not make a difference?

If it does, is it too late for me to submit a K3 application (i.e. will it make a significant difference to my timeline at the point?)

Reading other post's and time lines it seems on average once the NVC get's the approved application, the process with NVC take on average about 2 months before it get's sent to the embassy abroad. Is that 2 month average about right?

Finally for those of you how have been through the entire process or coming to the end of your process, I've heard conflicting responses as to how long the embassy process takes i.e. the time from when the embassy receives the application from NVC to the Interview date.

Is there anyone who is applying through the Mumbai office? What has your experience been with them?

Overall, assuming everything goes smoothly (assuming and smoothly being the operative words here) is an 8 month journey starting in Sept 06 and finishing in May 07 in my stars or am I just dreaming?
