Hi all! I am about to file the N400 based on the 3 year marriage rule. We moved last year to a new apartment so our lease’s start date shows December of last year. Do we have to provide proof of us living together the past 3 years, or as long as we’re still living together we should be fine?

Also, any Philadelphia filers here? My ROC is still pending, I was wondering if they do dual interview. Thanks!

Hi @Keiko2325!  Philly does I-751/N-400 combo interviews, had mine in June of last year.  If you have already submitted the previous lease in your I-751 application, then it should be in your file when interviewed.  Regardless, it wouldn't hurt to resubmit it through the N-400 online system application.  If you guys didn't have a lease prior to December 2021, you may be asked to explain what kind of housing arrangements were made since becoming a permanent resident and provide relevant evidence.

    Good luck!

Any one from Philly had their interview scheduled or approved recently. Just need a little sanity check and some hope to know things are moving as expected!LOL

Hi, had my combo interview in Philly a couple of months ago.  Both cases were approved 10 days later and oath was scheduled for late July.  Feel free to check my timeline for exact dates.  In my case, the Philadelphia office scheduled my interview a couple of months ahead of the lower end of the estimated time range, published in the USCIS website:

  3. Hi folks,

I filed my N-400 application online on 9/30/2020 while my I-751 form is still pending.

As I am in the process of moving, I submitted the AR-11 form online, informing USCIS of my new address for both pending cases.

However, I am not able to change my address in my online profile in the new USCIS website (my.uscis.gov), from which I filed my N-400 online.  There is no "Edit" option provided for any of the fields, with the exception of "Daytime phone number."

Does anyone know how to change the address in their online profile?  I have read in the past that many applicants were able to do so.

  4. @Justkeepswimming Did you show your unexpired 2-year green card when you were hired?  If that's the case, then you're good.

As @mnk mentioned above, it is considered discrimination if your employer demands reverification.

I had to deal with the same situation in May 2019.  I forwarded the below links to my HR department and politely asked them to look into this, as "I do not believe reverification is required."  HR replied to me the next day, apologizing for the oversight on their part and stating that nothing is needed on my side, as employment will continue as before.

"You should treat individuals equally when recruiting and hiring, and when verifying employment authorization and identity.

    You should not:

    • Request that an employee who presented an unexpired Permanent Resident Card present a new document when the Permanent Resident Card expires."

"Reverification is never required for U.S. citizens or noncitizen nationals. Reverification is also never required when the following documents expire: U.S. passports, U.S. passport cards, Form I-551 (Alien Registration Receipt Cards/Permanent Resident Cards, which are also known as Green Cards), and List B documents."

Hello, any news yet? I put a service request

, why case taking longer time, let’s see what Responses come

No updates here.  According to USCIS, I-751 petitions that have been transferred to local field offices, are considered "outside normal processing time" if submitted before February 15, 2016.  https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

It's going to be tough for your case since you filed in June 2019.  Let's hope you get lucky and get some positive feedback!

    Hey any news yet ?

Still the same here.  I believe I saw a post somewhere that a NYC applicant got a phone call to schedule their interview and appear within the next few days at the office.  I can't remember if it was an I-751 or N-400 application.  Nonetheless, you might want keep an eye on incoming calls, as it seems that the field office may be trying to reach applicants over the phone in order to speed up the process.

Please keep me updated, we’re in the same boat

Of course.  I'll post as soon as I have any updates that may be helpful for others too.

I believe the New York-Queens field office reopened this morning as I am seeing a different message compared to other field offices (i.e. Los Angeles).  I can't be 100% sure though as it is not specified.

As per the USCIS website, "USCIS field offices will send notices to applicants and petitioners with previously scheduled appointments and interviews. Those attending appointments should follow the safety guidelines..."

    More to come...

Maybe they had an interview scheduled before but when cancelled their status went back to "ready to be scheduled"? If not then that's also good news, hopefully people get approved without ever having an interview scheduled in the first place. 👍

Yeap, we all hope for that!  Do we know which local offices have been following this trend?  Have the approved applicants mentioned their local office?

    hey, any news yet?

Hi!   No updates on my side.  Patiently waiting!

In the meantime, I initiated a new thread for I-751 cases that have been transferred to the local field offices of NYC and Long Island.  You can also post there with your details and timeline and get this thread going.  We may be able to gather more information this way.

  10. Hi everyone,

I am creating this thread for I-751 filers who have been transferred to their local field offices (five boroughs of New York City, Long Island, Rockland and Westchester counties) to be interviewed.

I have included all the details of my I-751 process in my signature and the Visa Journey timeline.  My window for the N-400 application is now open but I have not applied yet.

Note that, depending on your zip code, you may be residing at one county and belong at a field office of another county.  Check out the below USCIS link for details on your local field office.

In following the trends over the past year, CR-1s who have not been interviewed by USCIS before will have interviews scheduled for their ROCs if they filed after Dec 2018. Many MSC application numbers are CR-1, but not all.

    Correct.  It seems that way.

I have not had an interview with USCIS so far and since I applied for I-751 in February 2019, most probably the following applies:

Can you please share the trends that you have been following so we have more accurate figures?  It seems that the NBC spreadsheet and forum do not reflect those trends.

I would disagree, if you look through the forums there are people who got “card being produced” after transfer to NBC and also those who got transferred to their local office and then got approved without interview. What makes you say it is rare?

The NBC forum and the excel spreadsheet say otherwise.

I cannot find one case in the spreadsheet that was approved without an interview.  https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Id1duRRByZHJmhEzl9N25GqwzcnUyLCR4e4N9W6zGLg/edit#gid=969170919

You can also look through the pages of the NBC forum.  I'm pretty sure you'll find a very small number approved without an interview (through NBC).

But again, I may be wrong.

I guess USCIS is not following the national guidance on social distancing.

I presume they are following the CDC 6 feet distance guidance (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/prevention.html) at this point.  If the situation deteriorates, they will probably have to re-schedule as per CDC and government updated guidance.  I'm pretty sure they are obligated by law to follow specific rules and recommendations, otherwise, they would be in serious trouble with possible litigation down the road.

As of now, they have the following on their website (https://www.uscis.gov)

If you become ill for any reason, regardless of whether you were exposed to COVID-19, please do not come to appointments with any USCIS office. Please follow the instructions on your appointment notice to reschedule your appointment or interview if you:

    • Have traveled internationally to any country outside the U.S. within 14 days of your appointment;
    • Believe that you may have been exposed to COVID-19 (even if you have not travelled internationally); or
    • Are experiencing flu-like symptoms (such as a runny nose, headache, cough, sore throat or fever).

Visit CoronaVirus.gov for a complete list of CDC travel health notices.
