Landurerason got a reaction from Carla Pas in K1 interview & J1 2 year home residency requirement + limited dates to schedule K1 interview
Good to know. We actually contacted the consulate and we were told we can go to the interview on Nov. 28th and if all goes well, they will issue our visa after the 30th.

Landurerason reacted to T_P in K1 Medical Exam São Paulo
Hello @Landurerason I did all my exams in Sao Paulo. Just so you know I have already gone through that phase, and currently on the AOS stage, but going back to your point.
Yes you can do everything in one day, yes it is very expensive, yet you can finish all the exams in one day you would need to get back to the medical appointment to receive your packet which is something I recommened, why? K1 visa is a long journey, and although they offer you the option to send your packet direct to the embassy I`m sure you dont want anything to go wrong and delay all of your process.
Like I said, if possible, visit SP again one week later to get your packet at the Medical Office your attended initially. One thing you want to make sure, give some time between the interview (which is supposed to be in Rio) and receiving your medical docs.
Feel free to ask any questions and I will be happy to help since I know how complex this process can be specially at the beginning.

Landurerason got a reaction from Larissa & Johnson in K1 Medical Exam São Paulo
Answering my own question for anyone that may be in the same situation. We called São Paulo and we were told that we can do everything needed in one day for the K1 medical exam. We were emailed a bunch of forms to fill out. However, it is much more expensive than we originally thought. For everything EXCEPT the vaccinations, the cost is R$1.200.
In addition, it takes ONE WEEK to receive the document from the medical exam from the interview. We were told this could get sent to us if the doctor agrees, or we can pick it up. Since we live so far from São Paulo, we're hoping that the doctor will send us the documents.

Landurerason reacted to geowrian in Received NOA2, Visa Status is READY on CEAC website, but consulate in Rio has no record?? Help!
Dang. I tried a bunch of queries myself from mid-Sept. to now and no luck either. I see packages for other countries, but none for Brazil. =\
Edit: nvm on the rest..of course NVC got it already since you have a case number.

It might just take awhile to be input in their system. My consulate was Canada, and they weren't actually ready for me to go to the next step (which I think is when they put me in their system), until 3 weeks after my tracker said ready. Even more annoying is that I was told we were a pivot case, and were being trialled in the new electronic system.... So it's not like there was any actual mailing involved. Hopefully they will have it soon! I would definitely keep contacting them at least once a week just to check in.

Landurerason reacted to CB & FM in Police Certificates from Paraguay and Brazil for K1
I know of a girl who studied for one or more years in Germany and she had to get this certificate for herself. She found out at the interview. She was put on administrative hold while she got the remaining evidence for her visa request. So wherever your fiancè has lived for more than 6 months month since he turned 16 years of age he must have these documents. Also every state of Brazil that he has ever lived in for the same period, he must have the certificate from each one. Good luck.

Landurerason reacted to rocklobstermass in Brazilian K1 procedure
My fiance and I are wrapping up this process and we are awaiting the return of his passport nearly 4 weeks after the interview. Although they took fingerprints from him during the interview at the Consulate, Biometrics is a process that happens in the US when your fiance applies to adjust status after your marriage.
A word of caution on State Police Certificates in Brazil: While the Federal certificate IS available online and many State certificates are as well, NOT all states provide Police Certificates online. We learned this the hard way when we brought what we thought was a State Police Certificate obtained online and it was not the correct document. My fiance was sent home to obtain the correct certificate IN PERSON from the State Police in Rio Grande do Norte.
Just be sure that if you do download a document, that it is the exact document asked for in the requirements (Certificado de Antecedentes provided by the Secretaria de Seguranca Publica e da Defesa Social in your fiance's state).
Good luck!

Landurerason got a reaction from AZSunshine78 in i129f k-1 fiance visa form questions
Yes. So for my country, we used Postal code, and my fiancé (the U.S. citizen) used Zip Code.
Hang in there!!

Whatever doesn't work online, just write by hand with black ink. We had to do the same thing for a few areas, such as my city in Brazil. Just make sure it's neat and clean. Also, make sure you have the new version of the I-129F that expires in 2018. As far as your other addresses, are you referring to the I-129F or the G-325a?

Landurerason reacted to geowrian in If Petitioner overstays in Beneficiary's native country, could this effect the K1 visa?
No, it won't affect the K-1.
However, I can't speak to exactly how it affects your future chances of entering Brazil (or even other countries) in the future. A quick search shows that it's uncommon for entry to be denied because of a previous overstay, but has occurred (usually when they were unable to pay the fine upon arrival due to banks being closed and such). And some other countries require disclosing any past immigration violations, which may impact the ability to enter those countries (i.e. if you overstayed in Brazil, you might overstay in those countries, too). For instance USCs need a visa to visit Australia, which asks "Have you ever...overstayed a visa in any country (including Australia)?"

Nope. I don't think it matters. What matters is if YOU overstay in US territory. Everything in K1 is mostly about you and your relationship. Proof of spending time together is actually a good thing. Just make sure to know what the consequences are for her if she does overstay in Brazil.

It shouldn't. Brazilian immigration laws have nothing to do with US immigration laws. Just know the risks and do what is best for the two of you.
