Hey everyone - we just had our interview and it went really well. The appointment was scheduled for 9:30 and we walked in around 9:15. We left our cell phones in the car so I'm not sure what time they called us back for the interview but we got out of there at 10:15. The lady doing our interview was Officer Nichols. She was serious but nice. Once we got inside her office she swore us in and then asked Lotfi all the questions on the I-485 form. Once that was finished, she asked what other countries he's visited, how and when we met, if we know each other's families, how my family felt about him, where we got engaged, who proposed, when did we realize we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together, etc. Basically, if your relationship is real then you don't need to worry about any of the questions!
We took with us A LOT of documents/evidence - better too have too much and not need it than need something and not have it!!
We brought all originals and copies of:
everything we received from the government
his EAD/AP combo card
both our social security cards
both our birth certificates (his with certified translation)
both driver's licenses
his insurance cards (he's on my insurance through work)
his medical bills
home/auto insurance with both our names
utility bills with both our names
marriage certificate
photo album which included his arrival to US, holidays and trips together, our legal wedding and our family/friends wedding and reception, photos with my family, ultrasound photos
anything and everything else... we literally had one of those accordion expandable folders, a plastic zipper file folder, and a huge photo album LOL
She kept copies of the items listed above and she even kept a few of our wedding/reception pictures. At the end she said she needs to review all these documents and then she gave us a paper that said we are recommended for approval and that we will receive an official notice in the mail.
All in all it was a pleasant experience. Good luck to all of you!!

You can make an account here to check https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ that is the new site or the old site which is still working. Both are updating for me but some find one updates and not the other. lol Gotta love the government. This is the old site: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do
Congrats on the Baby Boy coming! That is awesome news.
Thank you so much for the information and congratulations! Much appreciated<3

Hi everyone,
Hope you all are doing well and moving right along in all of this. I'm wondering if there is a place to check online if you have an interview date scheduled or what your current status is in the AOS process? I'm starting to question whether I've missed something in the mail...
In completely other kind of news... we are expecting our first child (a boy) on September 30th!!

Hi everyone - just wanted to give a quick update. We had our AOS interview this morning and it went really well. We brought a ton of documents/evidence/photos with us and it seemed to pay off. The questions weren't hard or anything out of the ordinary. Basically, if your relationship is real then you have nothing to worry or be nervous about! At the end of the interview the officer said she has to keep the copies to review but she is recommending us for approval and we will get an official notice by mail. She also handed us a letter that said the same thing, "Your application/petition has been recommended for approval. At this time, it appears that you have established your eligibility for the immigration benefit for which you have applied. If final approval is granted, you will receive your approval notice by mail." All in all it was a pleasant experience and I hope the same for all of you!!
