I would start by making an infopass appointment, bringing all those letters you have received, copies of you application, etc and demand to speak with a supervisor if the officer cannot figure it out..

Thanks for sharing your experience! My wife and I have our interview soon and were wondering if you could answer some questions:
- It sounds like you and your wife were together the entire time, so they didn't interview you separately? Did they direct most of the questions towards the sponsor or the applicant?
- Were there any personal questions about each other you didn't know the answer to? If so, how did you handle them?
- How was the demeanor of the interviewer? Did it feel like you were being grilled or was it more like a casual conversation?
Thanks again!
I know you didn't ask me this.. but I just had my interview yesterday so I thought I could help.
- My husband and I were together the entire time. There was only one couple that got interviewed separately and long while we were waiting (about an hour), we saw at least 5 other couples go in and come out (I didn't really count)
- They didn't ask any personal questions, just where in my country we went for our honeymoon. after that my husband was pretty much ignored the whole time and it was all about me and the I-485 form.
- It was neither.. in my case it felt like he was just doing it because "he had to check that box".. which I guess is good? but like I said in my previous post, he wasn't mean or disrespectful, he just seemed like he didn't wanna have a conversation but just get over the mandatory questions.
Hope this helps!

@logisticamente hi, how was your interview? Hope you can share your experience with us. Thanks in advance 🙂
Hi!
Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts.. Since I missed most of Monday for the interview, I've been crazy busy at work. but well.. this is what happened:
AOS interview was at 9:45. We arrived at 9:25, passed through security (guy was kind of bored) and went to the check in window where I got finger printed and photo taken.
At around 10:35 I got called in. We both swore to say the truth. The officer asked what evidence did we bring to the interview, so I told him what we brought and gave him the papers (we brought photos, joint bank statements, joint cellphone bill, receipt from ski trip, and health insurance bills) He went through all the photos and papers (he asked about our honeymoon) and then said ok, now we are going to go through your application. I interrupted him to tell him we were moving in a couple of days and asked him what should we do about that, he took the post in with my new address and updated it in the system. Then he literally asked me every single item in form I-485I screwed up in one of my previous addresses dates, so I had to explain to him that part.
For some reason he didn't have any of the paperwork I sent regarding my J1 so I gave him my copies of my waiver approval and J1 visa when he got to that part of form I-485.
And that was it.
He said he was going to recommend me for approval, that I will get GC in 2 weeks and that he recommends that every month we save some kind of proof to make it easier on us for whenever we do ROC in 2 years and he commented that we currently have a good proof.
He wasn't rude, but did not laugh at any of the jokes me or my husband made about our honeymoon or how we are working at the same office.
I asked if I had to do anything else regarding my new address.. he said no..
He did not ask for any originals of birth or marriage certificate or anything else but what I already said.. Interview took about ten minutes..
Today I got an email from my.uscis (not the case tracker) telling me a change was made and I logged in and it says my card is in production
.
I feel like this incredible burden was taken from me.. so at peace!! I'm a little worried about this new address thing but not even. The card will arrive when it arrives (if it does hehe)..
I hope this helps someone relax a bit about their interview.. cuz I was freaking out!

I just talked to a tier 2 officer, and he put in a request to expedite, explained to me that I will receive a letter requesting for documents/evidence. What kind of evidence would I need to submit to show that I will have a severe financial loss if I lose my job? I am currently working and will lose job as my OPT only lasts until May. I am trying to prepare myself so I can send it out as soon as I receive the letter... Thank you everyone! This forum is so helpful.
Well first a cover letter explaining why you need this..
maybe your employer can write a letter saying they dont want to loose you, I would add some paystubs, the work authorization document you have that is about yo expire..
also USCIS will tell you what they need in the letter.

Is there a specific way to request to expedite? I called USCIS today, and he wasn't helpful. I do have an infopass appointment on 3/30. I was hoping they can be more helpful...
You have to do it by phone, when you call just say you want to request an expedite based on financial lost due to loosing your job.. and then they will ask you some more questions to set up the request. there is plenty of info here on VJ about that.
I think that you cannot request an expedite in your infopass.. I read someone did it and they told them to mail a form or something.. but if you want to wait until the 30th you can try and let us know what they say.
Also thinking about what FrankJoseph said.. when you call you can also request more info regarding your case and they transfer you to a tier 2 who can tell you if your case has been assigned to an officer or is still in the waiting pile, maybe the officer at the infopass can tell you that too?? that could help you make an informed decision.
Good Luck

My receipt date is 12/4/2017 on the USCIS mycase status, but it shows 12/8/2017 on the myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov, so I'm not sure which is correct... I'm on day 108, raised two SRs online, received no response. I called them today and I was told I need to wait 30 days to receive a response on my recent SR, which was on 3/14. I made an infopass appointment on 3/30, so hopefully I get more update then. I am currently working with OPT expiring in May, so it's been slowly killing me with the thought of losing my job and not being able to work for a while. My I-485 has been at "ready to schedule for an interview" since mid-January, but I am currently more nervous about work authorization....
loosing your job is a good reason to request and expedite on the EAD. I would suggest you do that rather than wait for the SR expedites are taking about a month or more

We just got a notice for EAD saying "we are producing your card and will mail it to you", no change to advance parole status but assuming both will come together? Has anyone had this/how long did it take to receive the card?
Receipt notice was Dec 7th
For me it took about a week for it to say "card was mailed" and then 2 days after that for the card to come in the mail

My only comment to what @Sav&Har said is that to clarify you dont need to do the medical to schedule the interview. And that the results from the medical take only 5 days in both of the places authorized to do them.
Also note that you will have to make 2 appointments after you pay the fee, one for the VAC (where they take your photo and fingerprints), and the official interview.
In my case because I am not from Santo Domingo.. I went to the medical the same day of the VAC appointment. If you are doing it like me I will recommend you do the VAC early in the morning and then go to the medical, this is only because most people go to the medical very early, so there is a lot of people early in the morning, therefore a longer wait. Vs going after 10:00 am (they receive people until 11) when there is none one in line anymore so you just go straight to the actual medical exam.

We got a notification from the app as well this morning, but when we checked, it still said received. The notification did not alert for the I485 though. I thought it was another tool update. Was this what happened to you? By the way, it is Day 86 for me.....
Did you check in the other tracker someone posted last week? When I made an account there I noticed that there is a notification from jan 31 saying your case is ready for interview that Never showed up in myuscis and also my AP shows approved while still says received in myuscis

Thank you, I already appreciate it. So just to be clear, you was able to schedule the appointments, even without any notification that it was at the embassy?
yes. but note that you are at risk of not being able to make it to the appointment since you need that notification in order to go to the medical and it takes a week to get the results

@logisticamente, Hey there. I am still a long way to my NOA2 and interview. But just as you were, I am curious beforehand. I saw that you already went through most and are already applying for the next steps into the US. I am curious, did you follow or everything went as you was answered here by @marc941? any catch or anything differently that you went through? I would appreciate if you could help us out. Also getting the "Certificado de no antecedentes penales" electronically was enough for you? did it need translation on anything? did you go to the interview alone? We would appreciate as much information you could provide. Thank you!
PS. After I am done with this whole process, I plan to do a long write up with what I did and update the instructions provided in the K1 Visa wiki for SD.
Hi!
I did follow everything as it says here.
Something to note is you need to bring a copy of the beneficiary's birth certificate
the electronic version of the certificado de no antecedentes penales is enough (I know it looks kind of unofficial) no translations needed. All your docs should be in english or in spanish for this step.
I went to the interview with my husband. But there were plenty of people there who went alone and got approved. I must say they got asked TONS of questions while we only got asked where we met, how we met, if I was legally in the U.S. while I was working here, and I think that's it.
they didn't take my affidavit of support (even though is in the list they give you).. they said it wasn't needed for K1s but I would bring it anyways just in case. (and you need it for AOS anyways.. so it is not wasted time)
Let me know if you have any more questions. Im happy to help

When they mail out EAd/AP cards does it ship DHL?
I have an unidentified incoming package from Melrose park Illionois. Mailed Friday.
Was curious how others received their docs.
they use USPS priority mail

Hi!
I have my AOS interview on March 26 and my husband and I will be moving to a new place on April 1st. I am not sure when to fill out the address change form..
Should I fill out the form a week before the interview so when I get there they have already processed the change?
Should I just wait until the interview, because the officer will have power to change my address in the system then?
or should I wait until after the interview and when I actually move?
I am trying to avoid losing my Green Card to the amazing USPS limbo... which makes me wonder.. are GCs sent priority just like EADs or via regular snail?
Thanks in advance!

Hi, I was able to talk to my Attorney yesterday. do you guys have any receipt of items you purchased together? Here are the documents you gonna need basically;
joint bank account
credit cards
lease agreement
insurance policy
utility bill
Receipt of item you purchased together
photo of your trips if you have them
he also gave me some questions to go through with my husband , these are normal relationship questions like who does the laundry or groceries, favorite meals, your spouse siblings name and all of that. I think you should try and get some of those stuff even if it’s utility bill , you can also use your old joint bank account statement. They just want to be sure if you both really live together. If you need the questions I can forward them to your email then you can go through it with your spouse.
Thanks, this helps!
Please send the questions.. I will give you my email address through private message

Right now, I have our pictures, lease agreement ,utility bill and a joint bank account statement which we don’t use anymore, we haven’t taken any trips because I can get out of the country, but I’m going to see my attorney today so he can put me through. You can find whatever bill you both have your names on. I will keep you posted when I see my attorney.
Please do.. the only thing we have in both of our names is an old bank account.. we don't have any other paperwork as we were waiting for my EAD to decide if we were going to move or not, so we just left everything in his name.. We thought that the interview would take around 6 months to get scheduled so I was not worried about these things...

“Request for applicant to appear for interview” received today by mail. No EAD YET. Interview date : April 5th
What are you planning to bring as evidence? I have my interview March 26 and Im going around in circles for this as we haven't done things like lease name change and all that jazz

I would probably also send a couple of photos if you have any that might be useful at showing you at certain places along the years.. for my K1 I sent screenshots of some of my instagram posts as they show dates.
Also I would probably also send the travel history to the US.. you can get it in the website where you get your i-94.. it shows your last 10 entries and exits to the states.. (similar to your passport idea, just easier to read/interpret)
Phone bill/contract?

Just saw it, thanks! There is some differences between out cases though... I never received e-mail confirmation about them receiving my fax or that it is under review. It just shows in my case history that it is assigned to an officer and that expedite case is on hold while they look for my case file... Did you see anything like this in your case history?
I never received confirmation that they received my fax either.. a week after I sent it my case history updated saying case has been assigned to an officer and that it was closed (for the second time since requested expedite) and I received an email saying my case was under review.. no word after that until I got email saying card was sent to production 2 weeks later..
but it seems to me like you are getting more updates than me.. I would have liked to know someone was looking for my file

Do you mind sharing your expedite process and updates throughout the case? I requested mine on Feb 12th.
You can find it in my timeline under notes in the EAD section. 😊

Just a word of warning to everyone, and to vent a little ... be really careful when considering traveling with Advance Parole.
After sooooo many months apart, my husband came here in September, we were married in November, and life has been wonderful. His EAD/AP was approved and combo card received in January. We thought it would be really great for him to return to his home country (Dominican Republic) for a visit with family now that he could travel, and to do so before he gets a job that would interfere with potential travel. So, we bought him a round trip ticket and off he went 2 days ago.
His wallet was either lost or stolen in the airport during his arrival in Dom Rep. He no longer has his EAD/AP combo card. I wasn't too alarmed at first, as this kind of happens all the time and I'm sure there's a protocol for it. However, it seems there is not. The letter received with the combo card specifically says "if the card is lost or stolen while you are out of the country, contact the nearest embassy for a travel document". Of course, when contacting the embassy, they say they can't help with it and to contact USCIS. USCIS says to contact the embassy. USCIS also advises that he can apply for a new card, complete with the typical +/- 3 month wait time and paying all the fees again, but it can only be done from within the US. He can't get to the US without the card.
Of the dozens of people I've talked or emailed with at USCIS HQ, USCIS Dom Rep, State Dept, and Embassy, there's one common theme: It's not their agency that handles it.
Someone online suggested something called a "boarding foil" or "travel letter" but the embassy tells me those are only for if you lose your green card, and all of the info I can find online says the same. I read one story of someone in Rome getting it with a situation similar to ours (pending AOS w/ approved EAD/AP), but that seems to have been a fluke or a mistake on the embassy's part.
I just want to cry. This was supposed to be a happy trip for him to see his family and now we don't even know how many months may go by before he can come home.
Luckily he has photocopies of everything with him. After spending all day on the phone with government agencies, my only hope is that the airline will allow him to board the airplane with photocopies of the lost EAD/AP card and the approval notice, and that CBP will subsequently admit him. It seems like a long shot, but it seems logical that these things happen and CBP should be able to look in the computer, see that he has pending AOS and approved AP, and let him in. I imagine they'll give him a hard time, but hopefully they let him in. If not, I don't know what to do.
Had I known how unreasonable the government is in such a situation, I never would've encouraged my spouse to take this trip. I strongly encourage everyone to wait until you have LPR status before leaving the country.
SH*T that is rough!!
Good Luck with your plan!! let us know how it goes
Maybe also have him bring a letter from the police (or the embassy??) stating that he reported his wallet with EAD/AP card inside stolen and of course translate it to english
K1 After NOA2 Dominican Republic.

I got mine 3 days after my interview.. but I was obviously not put in AP.
Good Luck!! If the only thing "wrong" was the medical results you should be fine.. is just a little hiccup
