Jonathas & Laila got a reaction from Neonred in Filing petition for Mom and Dad. Plz help
Hello everyone! I hope this message finds everyone well. Little background info: My wife and I (both US citizens) are looking to file for green card for her parents. They currently have tourist visas and are here in the US visiting us for a month and their current tourist visas are good for another 3 plus years. Our question is:

    1) Should i wait for them to return to Brasil then file the form I-130?

    2) Once i file for their Green card, Can tell travel back and forth to the USA with their tourist visa without impaction our petition for their green card? I seen somewhere that if one is currently waiting for one's petition to be approved, they cant leave their country before they have a decision on their case because it would be considered "abandoning the case"...... (this is the main/most important question for us)

    3) Do i file a form i-130 for each of her parents or can i do them all together? Or which is better/safer?

    Thank you for your time!

Yea I see what you mean, but that’s not an option for us. We don’t wanna pursue this option.

    Hi all!

I filed for ROC on August 13, 2019 (that's when I mailed it, USCIS registered my case a couple of days later), I did the biometrics on September 19 and now, two days ago, on February 12 my case status changed to "Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview". Seems like it's moving on pretty well, and a little faster than the 12-18 months I anticipated. Has anyone else who filed in August 2019 got the same update?

Does anyone know how long it normally takes until I get my interview notice? Would be great to get that pretty soon, so I can plan an upcoming trip around it.

I came to the US on a CR-1 visa and my case is processed by the NBC.
