    Hi everyone,

after reading through countless forums  (and deeming this one the best :P ) I just wanted to ask the other November applicants for their opinion.

I applied for the usual I485-I765-I131 package and USCIS received my case Nov. 27th. Went in for bio on Jan. 12th (had to reschedule from Dec. 23rd because I was heading my wife's family for xmas, halfway across the country). On April 20th I received an RFIE for employment proof of our co-sponsor (father in law) to which we replied 1 week later. On May 16th the status of my I485 changed to "interview to be scheduled". No update though on EAD and AP.

Is anyone else in this situation? I know no-one can tell me what the processing times are (or even hope to be). I just wanted to know if we're a bit screwed because of the RFIE. I don't mind if the GC takes another 6 months or whatever. I care about EAD mainly and AP so I can start working (don't have any employment offers to be able to expedite the case) and maybe am able to travel outside of the US (visit family and such).

USCIS hotline is (as most of you probably know) not in any way, shape or form helpful. When I filed an online ticket mid March, I was told I'd receive a response by April 1.st. The response came mid May with a copy of the USCIS online status page (basically telling us what we already knew). So yeah...

    Thank you for any insight.

    Hi there,

Sorry to hear you haven't gotten the EAD/AP combo yet! The GC is a separate application from the EAD/AP applications but it seems like the document they wanted you to provide with the rfi relates to all of them (proof of employment of cosponsor), so it definitely delayed your EAD approval. The good news is they are working on your case and have cleared you for the interview phase. You should be getting the EAD/AP shortly.

The '' we are scheduling your interview '' status online can last anywhere from a couple of weeks to more than 6 months. Mine recently changed from scheduling an interview to interview was scheduled. I had the '' we are scheduling an interview '' since February 5 and they just scheduled it May 24. I had no rfi's and I got my EAD/AP combo back in January.

Keep the faith, you're getting there.

Hey everyone. I received one RFE in the mail on Monday August 7th, then I sent the information back and the CSC notified me they received it on Thursday August 10th.  Does anyone have any guesses as to when an NOA2 would come. Is there a number I should call to check on it? Is there any aggregated data on this website that could show me averages for how long it takes? thanks for your help!

Also I wanted to ask if most people received a text about their update first, then checked the website, then got something in the mail.  Will the website say I've been approved, or will it say I need to check the mail?

It usually takes around 2 weeks to a month. Ours was adjudicated a week after they received our response. You will not be getting any notification via email or phone, the NOA2 is a hardcopy and arrives via mail.

Hi Guys! Feb filer here. Getting more worried and stressed as time goes by. We got an RFE dated June 13, got the hard copy on June 28 (Yeah! took so long before we received it) and we already sent our response on July 5. But till now the tracker still says Request for additional evidence was mailed. Haaaaays! What happened to them, didn't bother to update it from the time they received it (checked that they received it at USPS tracker). Anyone here just like me? Thank you and Goodluck to everyone!

No worries, you should check your mailbox frequently. They don't update the tracker after they update for response received. We got approved after a week they got the response, and the tracker still says 'response received'. :)

Our RFE response letter is done, we we're wondering what are we going to write on the envelope that was provided by the USCIS?

(ie would we just need to write down our return address)

In the USCIS form filing tips, they said:

"Mark the envelope and the cover letter with the nature of the submission. For example, Original Submission, Brief for an Appeal, or Response to Request for Additional Information."

And which carrier did you guys used to send your RFE responses? On the USCIS website, they stated that FedEx can be used as a carrier but from my knowledge FedEx doesn't ship to PO box. Has anyone tried sending their RFE response thru FedEx?

We wrote in "I-129" next to the "RFE" and of course your name and address.  We used USPS overnight delivery and they received it the following day.

Our RFE letter arrived today and they were asking for beneficiary's intent to marry (i'm the beneficiary) thank goodness that's all :D In the packet, we have sent them our LOI stating "we intend to marry" with both of our signatures in just one letter. It seems like they want the LOI be individualized for the petitioner and beneficiary.

I'm just wondering if I can include some of our text conversations about the wedding plans (since we haven't booked any venues yet) in the LOI? And is it necessary to have a RFE cover letter?

Absolutely nothing other than the intent to marry. Write a statement, sign it and mail it asap. I you add more stuff it'll just confuse them, and delay the approval. We talked to a tier 2 when we got our RFE, and he was pretty clear about only sending what you are specifically asked for. Good luck

Now I'll wait until my tonight to see if Scott got the email with the number. Otherwise I'll call again tonight and then on Monday! :)

I'm interested when you'll get the email. Still no email for us. Also, curious how fast it'll go for you since you are one of the few electronic cases. I'm guessing electronic cases are country specific if all German applicants are electronic ones.

Stubborn German called again, using option 5 instead of option 7 ( @Eric&Olya:D:D:D )....

So the wait was about 1 minute, the very, very nice lady on the phone said we're one of the new electronic cases, they've received our petition on Tuesday, but it's not in the system yet.
So our number should be generated soon! Hooray!
No medical still - but at least they have it! :D:D:D

See, it pays off to be stubborn, sometimes! Congrats :D

Whatever happens, happens. We are just getting into a very rough time right now. I don't know if we're still going to continue with this process.

Anyway, congratulations to those who got noa2s, even rfes. :))

    @SolFreeman Goodluck ate! :))

im still going to be a silent reader here. ^^ Goodluck everyone!

I'm very sorry to hear that. The case will get updated eventually, this whole process is about patience because everything (other than the actual romantic relationship) is out of our control. I hope you two come out of this stronger.

    Thank you! :)
    Not received yet!

He said - like the woman on Tuesday - that as soon as it's in the system the email goes out to all parties on the petition.

I'll give them til Tuesday now, if nothing is there I'll call again :)

But it was really quick - only 4 minutes incl. waiting line. 13 minutes on Tuesday! (Ugh, since I'm calling from German cell phone and see my Euros disappearing hehe)

Bummer, i thought you'll get a number since you were ahead of us with the NOA2.

Not a problem though, it should be any day now

Btw, no email from NVC yet. I'm curious when they will send us one :D

congrats .. I see you had RFE in June though, so at least they touched your case.

I was wondering, what are the chances of mail going missing in the US. We sometimes get it here in the UK, when mail just gets misplaced/lost or whatever. For all you know, USCIS is waiting for RFE reply or something, but we never got the snail mail ?

If they would just fix that online tracker, it would make life so much easier.

The tracker works for RFE's. Also, they notify you via email/text as well so you'd know if you got one.

We didn't get any kind of updates. Our received date is 03/21, NOA1 notice is 03/27 (my bday). I would like to look on the bright side but I have to say this is a bummer. Now my fiancé and I are getting paranoid.

No reason whatsoever to get paranoid! It's a delay, especially after waiting this long but again, it usually speeds up the process after you submit your response. The most  frustrating part at least for us was waiting for the hardcopy to arrive in the mail without any insight about what the rfe is for. Anyway, don't stress over it, you will get approved!

About obtaining your case number from NVC... Try to call on the 7th day. You might be in luck because we got ours on the 7th day and I started to track the case file thereafter. The best time to call NVC with little to zero traffic is first thing they open in the morning and 10 pm or 11 pm onwards EST time.

Like a crazy woman, I stalked the tracker on a daily basis and found out the exact day the case file was marked as 'In Transit' and 'Ready'. Once it shown as 'Ready', I took the initiative to e-mail my embassy's consular section to inquire about the Packet 3, which they promptly sent to me and I completed swiftly to send them the payment and appointment confirmation pages :jest:

I wish everyone all the best :)

@Estibaliz I can't wait to hear about your NOA2 :goofy:

Wow, thank you for the advice, so not only you were proactive but you  really got lucky there as well! :D

Calling this week would be too early, I guess. I've read about an average of 21 days for them to process it. Our notice date is June 23rd, so we should be "due" by the end of this week.

As far as I know they send an email with the number.

We won't call, because I don't want to have Scott hanging in a waiting line for 45 frustrating minutes to end with no result.
If you learn on the phone that you've got a number, then the email would be out that day as well. So - for my feeling - no need to call.

Thank you! In that case, i will hold off on making Todd call and we'll just wait for the email. I thought there was no email notification, so this is simple.
