Congrats!! And thank you for sharing!!  Did you have to have a translated birth certificate with you? Sorry I have so many questions! (since my F will be having interview in Bucharest as well) lol My F is not sure how some of his vaccines are translated in comparison to what is needed... does he need to worry about that or just not worry and get whatever is missing at the medical? Was it quick to get your interview when you scheduled it or are they booked out a ways? I guess I am wondering how long the process took once it got to Bucharest. Any info will be much appreciated!

Thank you! Feel free to message me, i will gladly answer any question as best as i can. I did not have a translated birth certificate. As long as it's in romanian. It says so on the embassy website: all documents must be translated IF they're not in english or romanian. He is bound to have a list of vaccines from highschool. It;s an old little piece of paper, that's what i had, i took it to the medical examination and they knew exactly what to do with it, i didn't have to get any extra vaccines (just a blood test - which will be done at the medical examination). If he doesn't have that vaccine piece of paper, he should ask his family doctor... they're gonna have it for sure. My file left the NVC and arrived at the embassy early July. I asked for them to schedule me at the beginning of August. I could've done it anytime. When i called the embassy, the lady said "Pick a date", then she gave me a time frame, which i can't remember. Either after 11 am or any day except Friday, something like that. So I could've had this interview done last month, but my fiance didn't send the proof of income, so i didn't want to risk having an interview and no papers. I hope this helps. I can guide you step by step if you have any questions, just message me.

How long does it take for the embassy to actually receive and process the k1 visa petition?

I called the NVC last week and they said that they sent the package to the seoul embassy on June 15th. It is now July 3rd. Is it normal to take more than 3 weeks to hear from the embassy?

My finacee called the embassy but they didn't tell her if they had received the package or not.. in fact they were very vague and general. All they said was to wait and that they'd email something once they process it.

My NVC case tracker said "ready" yesterday so i assumed they got my file. I went and paid the visa fee but they said the payment takes 5h to go through, and once the 5 hours were done, the work day was finished so i had to wait til today. I called today for an appointment, they asked me if i received a package with instructions, i told them i didnt. Finally they said they can't do anything because it's 4th of July. I'm done trusting this "email" jibber jabber i've been waiting for emails from USCIS, NVC and got nothing, i doubt the embassy is any different. I'd say keep tryin but the whole 4th of July might have something to do with delays :) Good luck

  3. So i called the embassy to set up an appointment, they told me they created an account for me on this platform called "cgifederal.secure.force.com" to schedule the interview.

I log in, add all my info, delivery preferences for when my passport is sent back to me by the embassy once i get the visa, the visa fee receipt number and finally it says "Transaction complete" with a PDF file attached containing a barcode that i have to print and bring to the embassy.

My problem is there is absolutely no way for me to schedule the appointment on this platform. The option exists but if follow the steps required, the end of the road is the PDF file. Im sorry if i blabber i'm a bit tilted because it's too late to call the embassy, but i would like to know if anyone else had to go through cgifederal.secure.force.com to schedule the interview appointment.

  4. I just called the NVC to see if they received my file. The lady who answered was ever so lovely she even apologized for making me wait while she was typing some bits.

I had this feeling they received it because usually the conversation ends shortly after i give them my USCIS case number, by telling me they don't have it, but this time they asked me for my DOB, full name and my fiance's full name. And i was right. They gave me a case track number, and an invoice number (which i dunno what it's for, I'm hoping one of you dears would shine a light on that for me).

I went to the CEAC website and it says my file is "At NVC". Unfortunately i didn't ask when they received it, so i don't really know what update to do on my timeline, should i just add today;s date? That would be a bit confusing...

I don't really understand either.  Our Status says Ready on NVC site. Haven't heard from the embassy yet, but I sent an email to them today so might hear from them tomorrow. Not sure what I need to do?!

I agree. I thought once your status says Ready, you call the embassy to schedule an appointment and they send u Packet 3 afterwards. At least for the US embassy in my country. Because they tell you where to go for the medical examination. So i know Packet 3 (or whatever it's called) has that information. I repeat... US embassy in my country.
