  1. It would kill the I29F and you would need to file a CR1.
  2. Just search posts in this regional forum, there is a LOT of info on it. It is pretty simple. I don't know how long you have virtually known her but if it's been a long time and you are living together for a month for a visit, you could feasibly get it done the last few days before you leave. Or do it when you get back home but before going for another visit. Make sure you take lots of pics together while you are there including family and friends. You will need that when you apply for the visa.
  3. Utah weddings became a big thing during Covid when the Philippines was locked down, you would need a special visa that you could only get if you were married. So people started doing that, then they were able to go there to meet in person so they could file.
  4. Your marriage must be consummated before filing for a CR-1. Meaning that you will need to be together in person. If you are there when doing am online wedding you are good. If you are apart when doing the online wedding, you will need to go in person before filing.
  5. I almost wonder if they paused CR/IR visas to focus on clearing the K1 backlog
  6. I think you are spending too much time reading too much info in the wrong places. I believe CR1 is a much better choice. I would say almost all people that have gone the CR Route and many who have gone the K1 route would agree. Getting married there is not as daunting as it seems. Here are my man suggestions. 1. Have her go to her LCR and ask what are the requirements to marry an American in the Philippines. The reason is that it does vary depending on where she lives. Every LCR has some different policies. Make sure she writes down every requirement and then read it back to verify. The reason for this is things are not very detail oriented there. You do not want to miss any requirements. 2. One requirement in all of the Philippines is that it takes 10 business days to get a marriage license. Plan on a 3 week trip since it will take 14 days to get your license. Even more if there is a holiday so make sure you know the Philippines holidays. 3. Last make sure she asks if there is an expedite process for your PSA marriage certificate. That will make it faster to apply for the CR1. If you do not ask, and pay the expedite fee it may take 6 months or so to get your official marriage certificate. Your other option is an online Utah wedding. They are the only state that allows and has a process for online weddings. You can do this while you are together there or with you in USA and her in PH. You will need to be together in person during or after the wedding for you to be able to file for the CR-1
  7. If the poverty guidelines change between the time the petitioner signed the Affidavit of Support and the issuance of an immigrant visa, must the petitioner/sponsor and joint sponsor, if required, submit a new Form I-864? No, the Form I-864 remains valid indefinitely unless evidence of failure to meet the poverty guidelines in effect on the date of I-864 filing arises. The consular officer will determine whether the income claimed by the sponsor and documented with financial evidence meets the poverty guidelines in effect at the time the I-864 was filed. If the income claimed does not meet the poverty guidelines, then the consular officer may request that the sponsor submit current year income information. In other words wait till the interview. Otherwise you are probably just creating more headaches for yourself.
  8. All this reminds me of our case. We were probably 1 or 2 weeks away from IL an then the Embassy locked down due to Covid. When they finally opened up and we got the letter, my wife got flagged for sputum. When it was complete we could not reschedule interview due to backlog. We finally got the interview about a week from medical expiration. She had to redo medical and luckily no sputum the second time. Ours became an IR1 too.
  9. Why would you update it? I don't think they would request more current info until after 4/15. Why did you even file, you should have waited til after the interview.
  10. That was a waste of time and money. Also, the reason for the sputum test is that is much more accurate. This is why the just do the simple skin poke test that the other doctor did. Sadly there is nothing that you can do. The real shame is that we are letting millions through the southern border with no testing and we hand them a cell phone and cash when they arrive.
  11. I don't think you will need them but, if you want to send it go ahead. My recommendations based on service and price: 1. LBC if it is close 2. DHL 3. FedEx
  12. Just so you know, different countries are different. This is why the OP posted in a regional forum to get Philippine specific answers. It is very, very difficult to get a visitors visa in the Philippines.
  13. Do they own their property and house? That is a biggie. If so their chances are not bad, but it's always challenging getting a tourist visa in PH despite what others are saying. Best of luck and keep us posted.
  14. Keep in mind they will let her keep her old passport, they will just punch a hole through it, so she will have it along with the new one. She should show both if asked and I doubt there should be any problem.
  15. Probably not needed but better to bring everything and not need it than not bring it and need it. Just make sure she goes right away to get the new passport so she can receive if before she leaves.
  16. First thing that you need to tell her is to stop going to TikTok and FB Groups for advice. One Embassy interview and she may be confusing the CFO as a second interview. The CFO is something every Filipino must go through to exit the Philippines with immigration intent. Another thing that you need to understand is that Filipinos love to worry. If they have nothing to worry about they will go seek out something to worry about.
  17. For me when I arrive to the Philippines I put my passport in a safe place as soon as I arrive to where I am staying. I only carry my USA drivers license around while I am there so that I can be identified if something were to happen to me. Your wife has zero reason to be carrying the green card or any passport around with her while she is there so if that's the case she should not lose it. I wouldn't even worry about this, you can not begin to plan for every possible scenario of what "could" go wrong.
  18. Don't even waste your time worrying about this. Everyone in the Embassy knows that BCs have incorrect data more often than all correct. If your name, sex, and birth date are correct, it doesn't matter and they will most likely not even notice. My wife's BC says that her mom was 45 at birth. Is your BC notated in the top right corner with "Late Registration"? If so they will ask you for school records (and pictures), medical and a baptismal certificate (if you have one) from before the age 16. If you do not have that at the interview they may give you a 221G requesting the information and giving you time to get the info and send it to them. I am not sure where or why you got a " Affidavit of Delayed Registration" but I am guessing you read it in some FB group or something. My wife received a 221g for late registration. You know what they didn't ask for in the 221g? An Affidavit of Delayed Registration. If your Birth Certificate is not notated with Late Registration, like the pic, then you are worrying about nothing.
  19. Tell her stop watching YouTube videos, Facebook groups etc. I don't know if I will catch flack for this but Filipinos love to go out of their way to find things to worry about. The other thing that is real in the Philippines is they "they said" culture. You will hear the strangest things you can imagine and ask where they heard that from. The answer is...They said. Who is this "they"? You can't let a baby get a drop of rain on them but you can give them a bath. You can't eat watermelon after a c section or your wound will open up. I have really considered writing a book and calling it, they said. Stick to these forums whee you will get accurate information. Don't you let her pull you into this. You need to be the voice of reason.
  20. @mike876 Is your caps lock button broke? Asking for a friend Refer to my previous post: Do you think you are the first person to do this 2x? Stop worrying. She will get her CFO Show me 1 example of this. I'll wait,,,,
  21. It's very simple, you meet the requirements or you don't. There is no such thing as kinda.
  22. No worries. Just make sure that she gets a green card before going back. Why did she? Did you meet her in Guam?
  23. CFO is something that any Filipino must complete before leaving the country for any type of immigration intent. Yes, we had to do the medical again Fortunately, she was not flagged for sputum the second time. Our biggest issue was the covid shutdown. We did everything we could to try and reschedule the interview after having to go through the sputum. a little over 3 months later we finally got scheduled. We got a 221g and by the time that was fixed and they were ready to issue the visa we only had a few days of validity left and it did not give us enough time. The embassy said retake the medical and then they would issue the visa. Everything went smoothly from there. In your case she has the visa. If she does not use it before it expires it will be a more difficult process. That's why everyone here is suggesting to do anything you can to get the CFO on Monday. Hopefully they will take pity on her and let her through. As far as greasing the wheels, that is common in a lot of things in the Philippines, but don't even think about it with the CFO.
  24. It looks like you waited too long to come to this forum. CFO is a Philippines requirement and has nothing to do with the visa or the visa process. I agree with the above, show up on Monday and beg if you must. Make sure you can show verification of the plane ticket and explain that you had no idea that it was needed. She must bring her passport and 2 ID, and a copy of your passport and marriage certificate. I can pretty much guarantee that you will not be able to get an extension because it is your responsibility to know about the CFO. The expiration of visa is 6 months from the first appointment of the medical not when it is completed (after sputum). My wife had the same issue because after the sputum, we could not get an interview after the completion due to covid lockdown. Finally got the interview about 1 week before her medical expired so she had to re-take the medical. Best of luck to you.
