We received our case number from NVC last night.  
 
Just another routine nightly phone call to NVC and POOF!..... the man gave us a NUMBER instead of a 6 week answer.

And now I go back to sleep. In Germany we would say what a hard time giving birth but I'm sure that's not the right translation 😂😂 thanks to all for listening to my drama and frustration. Hope it will be send to the embassy soon 

I also believe that this is a way for the NVC to reduce human jobs basically. A supervisor we spoke to on the phone told us that the data they get from uscis is now entered into the system by a computer and not people typing it in (from what i understood). 
 
@Steve & Ligia I did, quite quickly even. Maybe because at the drop down menu, where you choose the reason for your email, i chose 'complaint'?  

We've sent several emails to the NVC since we've received our NOA 2 30 days ago.  They have never responded.
 
Has anyone ever received a response email from NVC?

Best place to start is to review the list of embassies/consulates that can handle electronic processing of IR-1/CR-1 and other immigrant visas. It's only these ones that are capable of doing it, and they seem to have just recently started trying to do parts of the K1 process (at these embassies) electronically too. If your embassy or consulate isn't there you're probably not on the electronic list. If it is, and some NVC agents are telling you that they haven't received your case or cant see it (and trust me they will insist on this), try calling the immigrant line and speaking to option 5. They're the people who deal with the electronic cases.

I sent them an email and got a response after almost a month. Emailing them is useless. 

Feel your pain personally, it was an agonizing wait for us too. Couldn't believe the incompetence at NVC, way worse than USCIS in my experiences. If you're an electronic case, make sure you're calling the immigrant line and selecting option 5, too. Those people seem to know what they're talking about.

Pleased to report that we FINALLY have our case number! I called this morning and they didn't have it, but we spoke to the same agent just now who confirmed our number. At long, long last. CC: @eastcoastgroove

Wow. That's incredibly long. So sorry to hear this. You will get NOA 2 soon, hang in there.
 
My fiance is from SP. We received NOA 2 at 120 days.
 
But now we are back in the waiting game again for the NVC case #.
 
This is a painful process of wait, wait, wait, and more wait.

you should start preparing your packet 3... go to your consulate portal and see what you require, it differs for different countries. 
also you can begin your ds-160 ...DO NOT SUBMIT just save, this takes about 75 minutes so ensure u start when free-----will not recommend skipping questions so have all your paperwork with you since the review is a pain so try to do it thoroughly on the first time. -you submit the ds160 when your consulate receives your case and its in READY STATUS.

Today was root canal day for me. I had a run in with a crappy dentist three weeks ago, who sent me to the ER after drilling into my sinus and pouring bleach into it. Today I had a specialist go in and fix all that damage, so I was extremely nervous and scared about today. However, I woke up and checked the informed delivery and there it was. The golden Wonka wrapper, the USCIS letter.
 
I didn't tell my fiancee because 1) until I opened that letter it could have been and RFE and 2) I wanted to record a video of me opening the letter so that she and I could get the good news at the same time.
 
I sat through the 1.5-hour root canal cleanup job, staggered out of there and headed toward home toward that mailbox. About 5 minutes from the house I started recording a video and talking like nothing was up. Then as I pulled into home, I changed my tone to be much more excited and told her that I hope to have a surprise for her. I walked to the mailbox, pulled out the letter so that the camera could see it, walked to the car and got in, took a deep breath and NOA2!!!!

Please hang in there everyone who is still waiting. I know how hard it is, but the good news is on the way. I have said it before, and I will say it again, you all are the strongest and greatest people I know.
