    Hello,

We've called the NVC and they've informed us that our scan date was the 10th of July, and they told us to wait up to 11 weeks.  Is there anything we could do to make the process go quicker? They have recieved all of our fees and the DS-260 aswell.

    Thanks

There are the standard reasons for an expedite, then there are reasons that aren't listed. I was chit chatting with an operator at the NVC and he suggested I request an expedite. I said, "its not one of the reasons listed". He said, "so"... The worst that will happen, 'they' will deny it. It affects nothing, you don't lose your spot in line etc. The expedite request will be sent to the Embassy that will be interviewing the beneficiary. They decide yes or no. From what I have read and based on my own experience you should have a decision in 2-4 business days.

If your case is granted, 'expedite'. Your file is pulled and sent to the Embassy. Basically switching you to consular filing. Our case was expedited because of getting the kids in school for the beginning of the school year. We were already into week 5 of the 11 week wait for NVC to check the file. From the timelines similar to ours it saved 6 weeks. Difference being, my boys will be sitting in class vs sitting at the Embassy waiting to be interviewed.

@PP_2016 congrats!! I cants believe they actually asked about the pamphlet. Brings to mind mandatory training at work lol.

Guess I'll have to make sure my husband reads through it hahaa any idea if it was specific to the embassy or if there's a chance it could come up in any interview?

I just asked Kim about the pamphlet. "What pamphlet"?

    She had 5 questions.

    Where does your husband live?

    Who does he work for?

    What type of company?

When are you looking to move?

    Where did we meet?

He said he couldn't approve her because they couldnt find her or the boys medicals. She was issued a 221g pending medicals. They were in AP for 3 business days and then CEAC flipped to "issued" yesterday (July 12th)

Congrats!!!!!!!!! Hope your family's transition here is a smooth one!!  Much appreciated for all the helping London insight :)

Thank you. It's you who deserves the praise though. You have helped countless people maneuver through the puzzle palace of US immigration. I wish you both well. If you think I might be of help through your London process don't hesitate to ask.

    Best regards,

For May and June, they didn't give out any dates after the 30th.. I hope this isn't the case for you guys.. mdpilot got one but i think it's because his case was expedited.. Keep us posted.

When we got expedited the process changed from NVC providing the interview date to scheduling it ourselves, basically it switches to DCF. Did anyone notify us of how to do anything? No. I found out what to do by researching on VJ. NVC said the Embassy would contact us. If that was the case I'd still be sitting here waiting.

Wow, these NVC situations never cease to amaze.  Hope it gets resolved soon!

I thought we bring the medical packet to the interview - did Knightsbridge send directly to the embassy and did you have to given them your original police certificate?  Also, did they expect photos in US format or UK format?

The medical is sent from Knightsbridge allow 5 business days (fairly painless 3 of them took about 2 hours). Yes they took their orginal police certificates to the medical. She is still in London and wont be back till tonight so will ask her about the pics. I don't remember her mentioning anything about the pics. I am actually in the Isle of Man now waiting for them to get back.

The Embassy/Consuate was pretty straightforward bar the medical issue.. Think they were there about 2 hours. They went in just before noon and were out by 1400. Just a few questions about me her where we met, and my children in the USA. That was it... he said they were approved pending the medical paperwork being joined. Said shouldn't be more than two days then exect the packet in two weeks.... Status on the CEAC website now says Aministrative Processing....

  10. This process never ceases to amaze me, I really can't believe this. My wife and step children attended their interviews today. One snag. They had their medicals on the 24/06. Showed at the Embassy today. THEY CANT FIND THEM!! They think they're in the mail room..."Think"?

They interviewed, were told they are approved pending medicals being found!!! These people.. sheesh... they said it should only be about two days to complete the file then two weeks for everything to be mailed.

I just called and it seems my checklist for court records was overturned :))))) I'm so happy I could cry.

    SD 5/04

    Checklist 6/28

    Case Complete 7/03

After all this paranoia, I almost feel as if I need to call a few more times to confirm case complete status but the rep said next steps are scheduling an interview with the embassy and the email notification which may take some time.

Will probably call again tomorrow just to check but finally, the end is near!

    Well done you!!!!

  14. Hello all....

My family has been expedited out of NVC directly to the London Consulate. The CEAC has updated to "READY". My wife has made MED appointments and managed to electronically set up her interview for July 5th.

Do any of you have any insight on the Consular process now? Ie. what happens at the Consulate vs NVC? All I know basically is their case files were pulled and sent immediately to

London. I keep reading about all the different checks. Do you know what the consulate looks at as far as background checks for the beneficiary and petitioner? I am an Airline pilot so quite used to theFeds poking around just wondering. Keep reading about AP and SAO. I am originally from the UK but grew up in the USA.

You have to stay calm now because I guarantee it gets more stressful in your 8 and 9th week of waiting.

Lol...Who says I am not calm.

Is the system fair and equitable to all users? No!  Is the the process antiquated and out of date. Yes.. Is it laden with pitfalls that cost applicants months in lost time? Yes!!

Do I stare at the calendar counting the days? No...

Because of my career (I have to stay calm doing it) I get to see my wife every month. So unlike others who have to be apart from their loved ones for an ordinate amount of time I am fortunate enough to see her.

Its not right that so many of you have to endure such a long period apart from your loved ones.
