piste got a reaction from Maryland in Silly question
STOP BEING PARANOID ...... USCIS is a monster of admin delay no more ..... scams are scams and you have zero issues, there is always 1% who are F****** and they live everywhere .....
Rest easy, USCIS trips your mind ..... we have enough madness in our lives without worrying about the "system"

piste got a reaction from amishbaby in Will issue with the ESTA affect the U.S. Immigrant visa application? (merged)
DO NOT WORRY
The local in-country Embassy / Consular staff know nothing, I was referred to the Department of Homeland Security, another country visa office (Frankfurt issues their own) and USCIs and each pointed me to another Department.
It was ESTA and I-130 related and in the end I travelled and had no issues at entry into New York (just the usual questions no more) - I had to travel and thought F""" this .... if I am barred that will be the last trip and forget the USA as a life plan ( I have been married to a USC for 20 years and still treated as if I am 3rd rate criminal).
Your clue as to the lack of professionalism is .....Please visit Survey Monkey ..... so a non-Government server collects private information and can be accessed by anyone ...... DO NOT WORRY .... ignore 80% of the posts on VJ as well, you are the one who really knows your own facts and situation.
In fact the survey is meaningless as ANYONE can complete it ........ again pointing to the professionalism of the offices !!
the USCIS process means I will not be seen in life or death in Nebraska .....

Who knows if the children are yours ...... USCIS start at level 0 ..... someone in the past will have "borrowed a child" for interview purposes and children do not confirm bona-fide marriage.
USCIS may even think you got married for the children after you got pregnant and gave birth and it is part of the "deal" to get a Green Card.
USCIS tough, expect the worst and it will be easier.

Yep..I know..I had this app on my phone which could run 500 application numbers at one go and I know that quite a few applications from Aug 9 are still left..
I uninstalled the app because it was driving me crazy..but it would be interesting to see what the next official update is regarding processing timelines..
At least then there is a legitimate reason to raise an inquiry, schedule an appointment etc.

The snow around the glacier melts every spring ........no-one knows how long it will last, nor the strength of the summer sun to melt it for our migration.
ICE Age is such a good movie, puts our lives into perspective!

Thank you everyone who contributed to make this forum bearable and in honour of yunidmemma who I believe gave the best post string of the forum ....very funny ... loved it.
So what better way than to multi-quote" all those recently active and then only use their first two words which resulted in this:
And as the last one was edited, I was told by the USCIS website that I had been approved, so with mixed feelings move forward knowing there are still a number "stuck" and if you feel you want to message the "salt counter" privately, I would welcome the PM ..
Now I am off for a pizza and a glass or three of a fine French red, ......... far superior than any red produced or tasted to date from Switzerland ( White wine country)

http://britsimonsays.com/administrative-processing-fbi-name-checks/ - 12- 360 days for an FBI check according to this website.
The background check level you get depends on the application data or, specifically, nationality, you will be assigned one or more categories or class. These are code named:
Bear (for foreign government officials, representatives to international organisations, and their families)
Donkey (name hits, certain nationalities)
Merlin (for refugees and asylum seekers)
Eagle(certain nationals of Cuba, China, Russia, Iran, Vietnam)

It's easy to get caught up and depressed watching other cases get approved when they are right before or after your NOA1 date; but people seem to forget the following:
1 - Every case is different
2 - Some countries take longer than others
3 - ITs BUSINESS days, excluding Holidays and weekends! <-- biggest one that people seem to forget - The government does not work on weekends
4 - each case worker has a different case load
5 - every case worker works at a different pace
Geo's generated report is just a guestimate and stated I should have gotten my NOA2, 3-weeks ago; but I didn't toss in the towel because his report was off. VJ's timeline is a guestimate, they can be off as well. The only true accurate readings is the USCIS and by following their updates will give you a rough idea.
Not receiving a RFE is good news... remember NO news is good news. You can travel there and your FF can travel to the states all you want while the case is being processed. Nothing says you have to stay put. Just keep gathering your evidence for the interview

Not a bad plan, medical expenses and reality of "Post Trump" are thoughts for us to pull out and live here.
Look how meek he is when today he sees Frau Merkel .....LOL.
Life is where you are and many people change their plans, learn Spanish and be back for the next election. Chile is not slow to act and develop: http://www.oecd.org/economy/chile-economic-forecast-summary.htm
There are opportunities and a support network in place so a soft landing and you get to enjoy the culture and life of your partner more deeply ....never a negative

Our processing date was August 8th and still nothing from Nebraska. I completed the online inquiry and it instructed me to wait until March 31st for a reply. This is absolutely unacceptable. I swear to god Nebraska is the worst place on earth.

Yeah am in the same boat as you are, it looks like our officer is on vacation, also i read that the USCIS director is resigning so things dont look quite good for us, processing times were updated and it went from August 2nd to August 9th in a whole month, can't wait to get out of USCIS hands and you just hope don't get a RFE
