The website says "You will receive an appointment when you have submitted your notice of readiness confirming that you have all the required paperwork in your possession. Embassy Belgrade will notify you of your interview date and time and paying the MRV application fee by an appointment letter."

If you can go ahead and schedule the interview yourself, then I would.  If there isn't a link to schedule it, it sounds like they hand out appointments themselves and you have to wait on it.  Can you email the embassy and ask for the interview?

My fiance is scared to call the embassy.   Not sure why hes initimidated.    If he goes on the site it does ask if he recieved the letter notifying him to schedule but i dont believe the letter will have his actual appt on it. I have emailed them once before but they were not very helpful.  They basically told me to ask him or have him call. I told him if he doesn't get mail tomorrow he should try to schedule it anyway.  Just wasn't sure if anyone else had this experience.   I know one person who hasn't recieved anything from their embassy since it was transferred from nvc

I had to do that, it's the normal processing for Spain.

However, the Embassy's website for Serbia since to point out they have to send a form of readiness when they have all the required documents in their possession, so kind of confusing.

    https://rs.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee/the-interview/

Anyway, that should be clearly explained in the instructions. Mine said in bold letters to mail them the documents and wait for the authorization to schedule the interview, stating also how them documents couldn't be emailed or faxed, so sure they make the important things to stand out.

Thank you he says his form says all documents have to get mailed in.  But he has had the Instructions 2 weeks and just told me this today.    Now he wants me to rush and I am angry and I can't read the form

  3. Help please

After receiving packet 3 (instructions) and completing ds160 online. Has anyone had to mail all docs to the embassy?  Like the copy of the d's 160. I 134 etc?  I believe the answer is no my fiance says he needs to mail it all ( cause that's what he did for j1)  I know all countries arendifferent but please someone tell me if they had to do this i think hes confused

  4. I'm going to jump in here and hope for some answers as well instead of starting a new thread....

I was able to get our NVC case number   The guy on the phone said they would send it out very soon since they were only doing minimal processing, when I check case status it says to refer to the list of 6 items I was sent ?   What is this?  Is this mail that I'm looking for?  The list on the website doesn't look like anything I've heard everyone talk about   Assigning an Agent and a ds-260   I thought we were doing a ds 160   Please help this is going fast and I don't want to screw up and delay anything

That is from receipt to when it ends up at the embassy.  I believe the suggestion is to start calling 14 days after NOA2.  It will take, at least, 7-10 days business for NVC to receive your file from USCIS after you receive the NOA2, then another 2-5 business days for NVC to get your file in their system.

My understanding is that police certificates are required for ANY country that the beneficiary has lived for more than 6 months after the age of 16.  Yes, he will need one from Serbia to allow the CO to see that he is not a fugitive or criminal with outstanding warrants.

In my case, my fiancee had to get police certificates from Ireland and Korea, on top of the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) clearance from the Philippines.  She has two children.  The son is 17 so she needs his NBI clearance but her daughter is 14 so she does not need the clearance.

John thank you for the info I will get him on that right away!

Congratulations!!!  Things are starting to get into your court now.  Start getting all the rest of the paperwork together.  DS-160, Police Certificates, Financial records, prepare for scheduling medical... Now you have to wait for NVC.  I believe that is about a month, give or take.  Not a bad idea to be able to hit the ground running when the NVC approves you!!!

Since when did NVC go to a month?  Please don't say that :(  also I have heard mixed reviews on police reports as to who needs them and from where ?!   He needs a police report from his home country?
