Suggestion! For those who have received their NOA2. It takes about 3 weeks for NVC to receive your Petition. Then 5-7 days to process.
If you haven't already done so, visit your Embassy website and look for your country's Packet 3 or4 information. Will give you step by step instructions on what you need to do to prepare for the interview.
Example: Here is the Packet 3/4 for Columbia!

My fiance's divorce decree is only 3-4 pages long. Makes me wonder if we have the right document
Don't worry. Your divorce depends on the complexity. We had a no contest divorce. I gave her everything and went my way. We never even went to court. So no long decree was needed.

Many people on this forum are WAY more knowledgeable about K1 than I.
Have you read on VJ the information submitted by a former K1 Visa agent? One thing he says is that the neater and more concise the information the more likely he was to process first. He stated that there were very specific things he as looking for. The easier he could find what he needed the more likely he was to process the case first. I would strongly recommend reading for those who have not read before.

Congrats!!!
Yes, it was mentioned, but I never really though that mattered. I think it's either random chance that people wait longer, or maybe it's the fact that my divorce decree is like 60 pages long and my lawyer had us send like 30 photos and 60 pages of e-mails and chat logs, etc. The stack looks like a dictionary. They might be scared to look at it.

So two things:
1. Are we the only ones who didn't submit proof of financial status/support with our petition? It wasn't included in the list of requirements, yet I see people talking about that on here. I do, however, see that requirement for when we apply for the visa itself. Im just a little confused, and worried, that we missed that requirement with the petition and will end up with an RFE.
2. I just checked the Case Status Checker on the USCIS website and it's currently down, apparently they're doing maintenance and HOPEFULLY they're finally going to fix it, or at least update the damn thing at the least.
Don't worry about the financial support. We did not file any information either. Not required at this stage!

HI everyone, I have posted a few times on this forum and have read everyone's comments. I am so thankful for everyone and the advice I have read. I have received my NOA2 and my case now has a case number...but it's still at the NVC. I was so happy to receive the NOA2 and thought that we are on the right track and everything will go smoothly. Unfortunately, it didn't work out that way for me. I'm not giving much detail, but I am currently in Ecuador visiting my fiance. Everything was fine, but Tuesday he told me he didn't want to continue with the visa because his friend told him it was virtually impossible for it to be approved. Just to let you all know...please tell your fiance/es not to listen to discouraging remarks from others. I am devastated. I've known him since 2004 and we have been in a relationship for over three years. He has helped me through a lot especially through the death of my daughter back in August. His son has decided to live with his mom and didn't want to come to the US, so I do know my fiance didn't want to leave his son. I understand this, but It is still difficult to deal with. I have changed my flight and will return to the states on Monday (this was going to be a month long visit). I'll be ok. My faith in God is strong and I know He has me in His hands. I wish you all the best of luck in your visa process. God bless you all.
I am very sorry, I have considered you a friend for awhile!

My case was received by the USCIS on February 17, 2017
Notice date on NoA2 May 17, 2017. Sent to NVC
Hard copy of NoA2 received on May 22. 2017
After reading some of the replies in this topic and how much evidence some people sent, I'm now a little bit nervous. Can the NVC reject your application? Some are saying they sent 40+ pictures and didn't get approved yet or received an RFE, I feel bad for you. My fiance and I have been together for a year and a half now, but we're friends for about half a year before that. She's from Mexico and I've been to visit her 5 times since late June of 2016. The last visit was after I filed the k1.
All I sent for evidence of our relationship was 4(four)pictures of us together,(1 with the engagement ring) but none of the pictures prove we took them in Mexico and evidence of visits was plane tickets and boarding passes. It shocks me that mine was approved and some of the people who sent way more evidence then me hasn't been approved yet. To top it off, she's from Mexico so I was wondering if it would be harder now with the current...administration. I'm really hoping it works out for you guys, and you receive your approval soon
Can the NVC reject your application? Or ask for more evidence?
For us, I could not have imagined doing this process on my own. If I made a mistake and received a RFE or been denied, I would have really hated myself. We paid Rapid Visa to do our Application.
They only allowed 10 photos. We copied the photos onto a Word document with an explanation of date, location, names of those in the photos. They also suggested we send no proof of ongoing relationship. No texts, emails, additional photos, call logs nothing. They recommended we save this for the interview!
I know VJ Members say otherwise, but worked for us!

I would recommend that you call USCIS and ask to talk to an officer if possible. If you are lucky enough to get an officer ask him what exactly they need and explained your concern. Hope this helps.
Try very hard to reach Tier 2. I think is always your best aid!

Does anyone know how to do the scans?
If you simply look in the App Store, USCIS Tracker, there are several apps. My NOA2 is not showing in the Scan or USCIS website!
I do not know if true, but I read that if you can reach Tier 2, your approval comes ins week. I know only circumstantial evidence, but worked for us.
I detailed my experience with Tier 2 on this discussion group. I really hope this helps. I am a timid person. Hopefully my detailed story helps.

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I have read that if you reach Tier 2 your Petition is approved sometimes the same week. On May 30, I called and spoke with Tier 2. Both agents were very polite and cordial to me.
I just went to the mailbox. There was a USCIS letter. Quickly ripping it open, we were approved on May 30. The same day I called Tier 2. I just called Wendy on Video. All I could do is cry and 4 months of emotions have taken their toll. The look on Wendy's face when I was able to share the good news was Priceless!
God Bless You All! EVERYONE, we thank you for all the support you are and will continue to be.
TriloByte, "brother"! Everyone on this forum meets with someone who touches them differently than the other members. I PRAY, soon your wait is over. Through your painful journey, you have been a source of strength and encouragement to me!
GRACIAS

I did a Google search on USCIS random processing. Evidently this is no new phenomenon. Was a subject of many discussions on VJ for several years. Is this the level of professionalism we can expect from now to Citizenship? I am a United States citizen trying to represent my country to my Fiancé. Trying to give her hope in our future together. I am embarrassed this is the level of Professionalism we can expect.

I want to say thank you 😊 to everyone who gave me advice to help my Fiancé cope with the waiting time. Today we discussed ideas of what she can be doing each week.
We have no doubt GOD has brought us together. As HE has Blessed us, we need in turn share blessings with others. Someone inquired about her English. She studied "British English ". She says is better than my English. I tell her she needs to learn Gringo English. Starting this week, she is going to spend her free time tutoring English to younger children in her family.
She is such an incredibly loving woman. So I suggested she start doing home visits with a couple of the older women at church. Wendy is a nurse. So I suggested she make sure on her visits, they are eating well, taking their medication, maybe help clean their house. Maybe they have lonely moments also. Just sit, hold their hands and show them God through her!
She had a much better attitude today. I think this week will be much easier for her!
thanks

I have a favor to ask. Is there a woman or women on this forum that is the Fiancé of a United States Citizen? I am not sure how to word that question any better.
My Fiancé is really struggling sitting at home starring at the walls. Here county has an employment contract for basically every job, so she can not find work. Because of the problems with USCIS, she is losing faith in our way of governing. The distance and time is growing daily. I imagine once NOA2 is complete, it will be easier.
Here is my favor. What advice would you give to the other women that are in this position with you?

I say 6 months from now we host a Visa Journey Couples Retreat (in the U.S.) since our soon to be spouses can't travel internationally for a while! 😂 This process seriously prompts for a vacation! Hang in there friends, time is of the essence! Once the NOA2 is received, the ball really starts rolling.
I Love the idea!
Post Visa Recovery!

I have considered that maybe there's something unusual about my case, however there really isn't anything I can think of other than a background check that's taking too long. I've had criminal background checks before and that's never been an issue. When I was working with the State of Florida a few years ago they even did a deep criminal background check because I had access to and would be analyzing Government data. It came back fine. The divorce should be fine as I scanned in the full decree that's signed by the judge and stamped as filed by the county clerk. Everything else about the case is vanilla. We have plenty of supporting evidence, etc.
I think they really do work out of order and it boils down to boxes and stacks on desks. I think I just ended up being the case in THAT box.
😫😫😫 Don't worry! You have company in THAT BOX!

USCIS Tier 2 Update!
I was not sure they would call back. They did! I forgot and missed their call. 11 minutes later they called again. I missed the phone call again. 11 minutes later they called again. Caller ID is (800) 000-0000. I answered the call and heard a recorded message saying this was my third and final call. I waited 3 minutes and then the Agent answered the call.
Very nice Agent. He asked for the reason I had called. I explained that I know that there are many applications after ours that have been approved but not appearing in the tracking. After he had my information, he put me on hold. **All I could do is CRY and PRAY while I waited.** He came back and said they were still processing December Petitions. I said but there are February Petitions being approved. He told me he could not confirm when ours would be processed. But while I was on hold, he had looked into the system and saw no pending issues with our Petition. He said, "Mr. Hornsby, I know this is a stressful time in your life. Please try and be patient and we will get to your application. "
Unlike the first phone call, I knew there was no were else to go from here. Even though he did not give me the answer I wanted, still gave me a little peace of mine. I called my Fiance. She is not happy with the length of time, but to hear him say everything looks fine will give her peace at least for awhile.
I hope this bring a little hope to someone.

Success 😂😂 Well success on reaching Tier 2! I am writing this for those who have not called before!
Called and spoke with Michelle. She gave me all the information expected. They are working on December cases. I need wait another 2 months.
I said "Michelle, I know USCIS had averaged 100 approvals a day. Current USCIS Tracking is showing less than 10 a day." She questioned my sources. I told her there are many online trackers. She said she was not aware of them.
"Michelle, I know for fact there are 100's of approved cases in February that were received 2 weeks after mine. People are receiving approvals in the mail and to date, the tracking information is incorrect! Can I please talk to a Tier 2 and express my concerns and see if indeed I am one of those affected cases?"
Michelle said, you know is a long wait and they will only tell you what I have stated! I said "Michelle, I realize you can only tell me what you see on your computer, but I fact many people I have been in contact with who talked to Tier 2 were actually approved. I understand is a long wait. But my Fiancé is worth my waiting!
She transferred me! 😳 The wait is approximately 285 minutes. They have an automatic call back when your turn.
Here is my advice!
1 Never critize or demean Your Michelle.
2 Sympathize with her position and the tools at her disposal.
3 Don't argue. She keep pushing back my comments.
4 Hold your ground. She relented!
😘 Thanks Michelle
Now I am waiting my call back!

On my job, many ask me for relationship updates. They understand how therapeutic it is for me to talk. If you have a story you feel comfortable sharing, please feel free. Sorry if this is to long. I need Therapy today.
We met in September. Since then I have traveled to Ecuador for times to see her 4 times. Many people have asked why I do not find a woman here. I prayed for a special and different relationship though I really did not know what to expect. After being married 28 years, all I expected was to be content. Did not believe I could find love. Makes me sad to admit, but for the first time in 49 years, I TRULY feel LOVED. First time I saw her eyes I saw PURE LOVE! New for me. I have met all her family many of her friends. OUR mommy introduces me as her Gringo son. When I am in town, OUR mommy treats me like the King was coming. Very humbling. We have celebrated Christmas together, birthdays, gave OUR sister in law a surprise birthday dinner. OUR nephew and niece call me TIO "Uncle". We live in the same time zone so communicating is much easier. I Thank God everyday for WhatsApp and Skype. We talk on video 4-5 times a day. Nothing better than rushing out the door in the morning for work and she calls on video only to wish me a good day. I talk to her son a little every night on video. Speak to mommy twice a week. Her family is planning our Visa part for July. Just waiting for a date.
Best Wishes to you as we all wait together.

I will be calling USCIS in the morning. Have my appeal to them in my head. Imagine to hear, sorry not yet, will make the weight of waiting worse.
Once we receive NOA2, is there an easier process to track our Petition through NVC?

I need some advice. My Fiancé is about to lose her mind. She understands absolutely nothing about the K1 Process. Long Story!
She wants me to call USCIS Tuesday. Sounds like the only way to get a decent answer is Tier 2. Do I speak with the Customer Service first? And then ask for Tier 2? Or do I just ask for Tier 2 straight out of the gate?

On a more positive note. When I was still scanning the data, I noticed that those who submit the proper forms/fees correctly don't seem to get denied at the USCIS stage. In fact, the data shows that only about 2% of all who have petitioned recently get denied. An RFE is not ideal, but at least your case is touched and on the way to approval. The wait, the lackadaisical/rude attitude from USCIS and lack of transparency are definitely discouraging, but hang in there, our time will likely be soon. We can help each other over the finish line.
Thanks for staying positive. I find everyday getting harder. I imagine it is like a woman in pregnancy. Once the baby is born, the remberance of the Journey fades quickly. I imagine, once the Interviewer says congratulations, the pain of the journey will no longer be in our thoughts.
But it until then. 😫😩😤😫😩😤😫😩😤
Have a Great Memorial Day everyone!
