  1. Hi. I have a question regarding your ROC. Did you receive a letter with the 15 month extension or was the letter to inform you that your prior fingerprints were being used?  Thanks!

Glad you asked! Didn't realize that they were two separate letters, so now I know to be on the lookout for another NOA. We only got the letter informing that they applied his previous biometrics to his I-751. We have not received the true NOA1 with the 15 month extension yet.

  2. Hi there. Just wondering if you’re still around and how everything went after you got your NOA2.

  3. Congratulations on your AOS approval!

      Thank you so much!!

  4. Hello. I was just reviewing your timeline. I noticed your POE was in Canada rather than the US. Why is that?  Just curious. Thanks!

      Hi there,

The US has agreements with some countries to have customs in the airport before they fly, Canada included. This means you go through customs and secondary to activate your visa before you even board your flight, and then afterwards you enter a U.S. Pre-clearance area of the airport and from there on out, the flight is basically U.S. Domestic. This means that the moment you land, you can go pick up your luggage and be on your way without having to check into customs or with a CBP officer, as you just did before your flight in your home country.

Thanks for the information. Do you know which countries in particular?  Is this something we should be aware of when my fiancé travels on his K1 visa next month from Switzerland?

  5. Hello,

My fiancé' and I will be marrying soon. He will be taking my name when we are married.  Do you think this will present a problem with USCIS when we apply for AOS?  When you filed your paperwork for AOS, did you use your new married name?  What about the DMV?  Was it a problem there to get a drivers license in your married name?  Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

  6. Hello,

I have a question for you.  I hope you know the answer.  I have heard that the USCIS website is only updated once per month.  We check the site daily for any change from the receipt of the K1 application.  They received that on October 31, 2016. How long did you have to wait for any other news after the initial application was received?  Where was your K1 processed? Thank you for any information that you may have.  I, too, live in Georgia.  Our application was sent to California.
