Since your wife’s total annual household income (adjusted gross income on IRS form 1040) now meets the minimum requirement when compared to the federal poverty guideline for your wife’s household size, you don’t need a joint sponsor anymore.

Take only your wife’s updated form I-864 and the copy of her 2017 tax returns or transcript with you to the interview. At the interview let the CO know that you have a new I-864 for your wife and you no longer need your joint sponsor. The CO will collect the new documents from you and check to confirm. If all is good, then the CO will return your joint sponsor documents back to you.

If you are going to have your 2017 tax returns documents at the interview, I would suggest that you update your Form I-864s to reflect your finances/income as seen in the 2017 tax returns or tax transcripts.

Hello everyone. I got my interview on April/20/2018 (F2A). My question is, Do I need to bring an updated I-864 from my joint sponsor or just 2017 tax documents.

You don't need new certificates if you obtained the previous ones AFTER you ceased residing there. When you think about it that makes perfect sense.

    See State Dept

Police certificates expire after one year, unless the certificate was issued from your country of previous residence and you have not returned there since the police certificate was issued.

Interesting... I went through the London embassy 6 months ago and my police certificate dated 2007 from Germany was accepted without a second glance. It even had my maiden name on and I have been married and divorced and now married again.

Do you have a link to the post about the old certificate being refused? I like to keep my London information current for the benefit of newbies to the process.

Ah totally different matter - his problem was not having a current certificate from his country of origin. We are talking about random third countries people may have lived in at some point during adulthood. For that purpose they don't need to be current. But they do for your current country of residence AND your country of origin (if that's different from your current country of residence).

Yes, it is 1 year for the currant Country you live in. If you lived in any previous Country, and you need the Police certificate, they do not expire as long as you have not returned since obtaining the report.

Call NVC to know when they received your documents. Try to call NVC Monday to Friday in the morning time from 7am to 9am ( USA time). If u call this time you can speak with them without waiting. After 9am usually you have to wait around 30min to talk with a representative.

no this will not be an issue, you have a case complete. The only time this is an issue is before the IV has been invoiced.

Yeah, our AOS fee also finally changed to "paid" today, and our IV fee was finally invoiced this past friday (actually it was invoiced twice). It should be clearing my bank today and hopefully the status update for it will go more smoothly.

I have the exact same issue!! I spoke to a guy on the phone and he didn't seem to concerned with the fact it says my payment is in process yet my status says the payments were received. He just told me to email them with proof that the money had cleared my account. So far that hasnt made a difference! Hoping they sort this out soon because my documents are already sitting in their office but the next step can't start until I submit the ds260... Ughhhh.
Nope. Hasn't worked for me for a few weeks. Always says there is an application error. You'll get a cover sheet in your welcome email.

Yes they will review them at a different time to your DS-260 so its no problem to send the packages now. You also don’t need to wait for the aos or IV fee to change to PAID before sending the packages. You can send them whilst they are in process.

If you read some other threads of the forum this is what a lot of people have done to make their process faster.
