Thanks. They ask for "Government issued ID" I'll be honest I don't know if there is a legal definition of that, but when the IO asked for that I asked "do you mean my drivers' license?" and she said yes. But of course not everyone has one so there must be an alternative open to you to show. My husband showed his drivers license too, and when he produced his passport she said she didn't need to see it. They didn't ask to see his birth certificate either, despite it being listed on the interview letter that you had to bring it. The only thing she took from me was my confirmation email that I had notified USCIS of my change of address.

Just had our interview this morning, in Baltimore.

Our appointment was 7.30 and we checked in about 10 minutes early. We were given the number K11 but told to listen out for my name. At least 13 couples got called before we did so the number didn't mean all that much. We were called through at about 7.55. The woman was friendly enough and professional. She told us that it is now standard practice in Baltimore for the interviews to be video recorded. Have others been told this because no-one else seems to have mentioned it?! She just said "ignore the camera" which is a tiny web cam on the corner of her computer screen so it was very easy to ignore! She asked my husband my full name, date of birth, where I was born, my parents' names and whether he has met them. She asked me the same questions about him, but also asked me when we got married and where. As I'm still unemployed she also asked me what my husband's previous job was. He has 2 jobs so I mentioned the previous full time job and she said she had his part-time job written down, so we explained he has 2 jobs and where he has worked on his part-time job as he has changed that since I've known him but not his main job.

She also spent  bit of time sorting out our address as we moved in December and  I hadn't heard back from them apart from by email so I knew they still had the old address on file. She went through all the 'terrorism' and other form questions, then asked again where my husband was born and when we got married. She asked if it was the 10th February but that's the date I picked up the Certificate, so we count our wedding day as the day we were married, which was the 18th.

Then she said she was printing out the paper that confirms the interview is over and that we will hear from them. She said "we have 120 days to write to you but it's usually much sooner" but gave no other indication of whether or not we were 'ok'. Other people have posted similar things on here so I wasn't too surprised, but then again, many people seem to say "we were told there and then that we were successful" so maybe it depends on the officer in question. As others have said they checked none of our paperwork, nothing that is mentioned as being essential on the form, no photos, nothing. Maybe they will ask for more in 2 years.

So that's it. On line status still says "case is ready to be scheduled for interview" so that's useless as well. So I guess we are just waiting for the mail to come now!

Yeah, you should call them to make sure they have your new address. They mailed my green card to our old address too, I wouldn't have known if my ex-housemates didn't contact me.

Ah, sorry for the confusion, it's for the I-485, Adjustment of Status to Green Card. My consulate interview was in London in order to get approved for the K1.

Baltimore's field office does appear to be one of the slower ones, but hang on in there! We've taken 8 months from application to interview.

Yes, they're getting through them it seems. Ignoring the official info on the USCIS site about processing times which tells us they are stuck in Nov 2016. I suspect that is perhaps info on their oldest case? Either way, I'm sure you'll hear something soon :-)

Just received our interview date! Jan 25th. We were May 2017 filers. My case status hasn't changed on line either.

They actually sent it on Dec 20th but sent to our old address (we have auto-forwarding) even though I notified them on 17th Dec that we had moved (we moved on the 16th). That generated an auto-reply saying they would contact me by 29th Dec. I didn't receive any further contact so perhaps I should call them to make sure they have our new address.

Now to read up on what to take to the interview!

As an update, I came back into the US after Christmas with the family (the first one with my husband, it was awesome!) and used my second and final remaining AP form. As others have already said, it is just  case of them stamping it and returning it to you. I had mentioned to the initial passport officer that I had brought photocopies but he just shrugged and said "ok". No one asked to see them. They made their own copy and stamped it with the seal and also the new date stamp (a year rather than 3 months). So if I travel outside the US again before I get my GC I will just keep taking this stamped one with me.

    All very simple.

So for those wondering about current timeframes for the Baltimore Office, my asawa just received her interview notice for January 30th, 2018.  We filed June 5th, no RFEs, Biometrics July 5th, received EAD/AP Combo card October 7th.  So about 8 months from start to interview.

    Good luck to everyone waiting.

Just had a wonderful surprise when I opened the mailbox today. I received my Advance Parole. I'm so happy as I was so sure I wasn't going to get it in time for my travel in November (which is day 100 after I applied).

It has comes as a I-512L form. I have 2 copies. I have read now in other forum posts that I take both with me when I travel and hey will stamp them and either keep 1 or give it back to me, and I use the other one as my travel document. I had been worried that they were only giving me 2 passes and that was it.

Anyone else receive their AP in this way? I did not get a combo card as I applied for my EAD before my AP (I have my EAD and it expressly states it is not a combo card).

Interestingly, my on line case status still just says 'received'.

Infopass appointments are so popular they always go really quickly. When you log on you’ll always see any they have available ‘14 days from today’ so it is always 2 weeks from the date you’re looking the first time I tried to book one I must have got lucky as I had a choice of lots of different time slots. This last time it took me about 2 weeks to even get to log on and see available appointments and there were only 4 left so I grabbed one. If you see one, take it. You can cancel any time if you no longer need it.

EAD is approved by the NVC as far as I know so there isn’t anyone at the Baltimore office who can actually approve it on the spot. If anyone else has different advice please say. What they can do is see your case file and of course contact someone at the NVC on the phone.

I was told you can get the decision on whether they will expedite your case quickly. But that’s not the same as getting the actual card in your hand. I will only have 2 weeks before I’m due to fly so time isn’t on my side at all and I would love it if I could leave there on Tuesday with my AP but I know I won’t.

Good luck and keep us updated.

Update. Finally got notification my EAD is being produced today. So happy! One less thing to worry about. I applied on 24th May so it's past 90 days. Only on Tuesday this week I had to call as they had not replied to my SR and was told there was nothing showing on my case so she raised a second SR over the phone. Don't need to chase that up anymore!

i only applied for AP 2 months later so I don't expect it to be a combo card, but I would love it if it was!

Ok thanks. It's generally the field office in your state as far as I know. Your application came before mine but your biometrics happened after. Either way, it must be a great feeling! Here's hoping the I-485 interview is on the way soon for you too :-)

It's helpful for others if you can fill out your timeline. Up to you but it shouldn't take too long and it helps when calculating stats for average times in your area etc. Only a suggestion :-)

It appears as though you are right :-( I just checked the Tip Sheet for EAD. It says the clock will reset on the date they receive the information they need.

"To determine whether your case has been pending more than 75 days, you must consider the following:
If USCIS issues a request for initial evidence, the 90-day regulatory timeframe will start over from the date USCIS receives the initial evidence. For example, if your case is pending 60 days when USCIS issues a request for initial evidence, and you respond 30 days later, the “clock” will be reset to Day 1 on the date USCIS receives the evidence." I have seen other posters say that the request had no impact on their EAD, only the I-485. I guess I will find out either next week when my initial 90 days passes, or 5 Sept when (if!) I get my response to my SR. I will update everyone on here.

For info, the case status on my EAD never changed the whole time that they were seeking initial evidence, only my I-485 status changed to show they were awaiting initial evidence. For my I-485 I've been 'ready to be scheduled for interview' since Jun 29. In fact my EAD status has been the same ever since it was created ('case was received 24 May')

It's funny isn't it. No matter how many times we read on here that everything is going to be fine and it's all routine stuff, we can't help but be nervous. I was all over the place at my Embassy interview last year, including giving out my work number instead of my personal one.

Just relax and focus on your breathing. It isn't a tricky exam, it's about what will be one of your favourite subjects. You and your other half :-)

Yes. I'll be a sweat-soaked wreck on my interview day too :-)

My Pd is May 24th too. That's super quick for your interview, congrats! I've had 'case read to be scheduled for interview' since June 29th. I'm expecting a long wait, looking at Baltimore Office processing times. Will send SR for my EAD as soon as 75 days are up.

    Good luck!

    Hi,

Very interested in your case progress as I am also with the Baltimore Field Office, although live in Laurel, MD which is pretty much same distance between Baltimore and DC. I had my case received on 24th May. Had biometrics on 20th June. Didn't file my AP with my initial application as I misunderstood that you didn't need to give a travel date. Filed for that two weeks ago and received written NOA just today for that. I arrived on a K1, I don't have an I-130 application.

My EAD 75 days will happen early August and I will submit SR as soon as I can. I see you got yours pretty quickly, did you expedite it (I didn't know you could and must read up on that!)? I had a request for initial evidence after filing my AOS, and the letter worryingly said "you didn't get married in time" even though we did. All I had to do was send a certified copy of my marriage license (I had only sent a photocopy with the original application) and that cleared it up. So my AOS is 'ready to be scheduled for interview' since June 29th. I am hoping they update their processing time info because for Baltimore it was last updated May 31st 2017, stating they are currently dealing with case dated 6 May 2016! Their stats show only something like 6 cases in the last 12 months so I hope that means the next update shows a significant shift!

Incidentally, the tax transcripts thing was the reason it took so long for us to get the application all sorted in the first place. He hadn't filed for 3 years and so had to play catch up. So although we were married in Feb we didn't have everything ready until May. That said, it wasn't a cause for the RFE, thankfully.

Anyway, just wanted to say 'hello' to a fellow Brit in the Baltimore system, and good luck :-)
