  1. We use a maid who is here in USA legally and legally allowed to work, ( we know because when we interviewed her we required she show proof. )

We chose Not to use Merry maids because they hire illegals who are not legally authorized to work in the USA, I refuse to support that.

HOw do you know that? That's not what their website says.

AS if their website will come out and tell you that they indeed hire illegals.

Our Neighbor used merry maiods until she found that the cleaning lady was in usa illegally and she asked her to show legal proof of residancy and work eligibility and she could not, A call to merry mads only confirmed that the cleaning ladies legal status was "in process" BS.

If you use merry maids request Id of the cleaning ;lady that comes to your house.

  3. If you start looking at Americans over 90 years old, particularly women, I think quite a few would not have birth certificates.

How do we know they're not illegal aliens?

I mean, of course they're not, but my point is - what the heck are we doing complaining about people being here illegally when we don't even know who *is* allowed to be here?

In Ca we are required to show either a State Issued Dl/ID card or US passport each time we vote. In Ca. one can not get a sate issued ID without proving legally residancy

  4. Look at all the college kids who get fake Id's to go drinking at the bar. If someone was set on voter fraud through impersonation, do you really think a photo ID would stop them?

There are so many easier ways of committing fraud that we should be worried about, instead of infringing on a persons right to vote.

Infringing on Rights?? ####### It is neccesary to PROTECT persons Rights that they are awarded from those who defraud the Voting process by voting with out the legal right.

There is no infringing on rights it is a measure meant to protect those legally allowed to vote.

  5. A national ID card would solve the whole thing. Make the required documentation free to attain and the card free and no one would have room to gripe.

exactly you don't see too many griping about how easy it is to receive govt subsidized services such as no cost health care or housing assistance whih rarely require one to prove legal residancy,

free or not those who legally are not allowed to vote will still come up with some argument on how this is profiling or discrimination by the us in enforcing our own laws or protecting our freedoms and election process.

  6. How is it discrimination to require individuals to submit valid ID, it si the law with other things such as driving. It is not an issue of discrimination, if one is here legally then there should not be any problem for them to obtain proper identification, Hell they manage to apply for public benefits and social services with no problem.

& you are correct voting is a right for those legally here & eligible to vote.

The question is to whether a photo ID is necessary, not ID in general.

valid id would include photo id issued from us govt. or local state govt.

And Yes a PHOTO id is neccesary.

  7. Which segments of the population would be unfairly discriminated against? Who doesn't have some sort of photo id? How can you live your life without some kind of photo identification? I think that's B.S. Of course you should have to show id to vote.

A lot of my clients have no photo ID. I'm against this also, and completely agree that voting machines are the bigger issue.

I agree. Voting is a right, not a privilege.

  8. It only makes sense to make sure you are entitled to vote before you vote. Any illegal votes disenfranchises a legitimate voters vote.

I agree, we should be required to show ID, to vote and there shoul dbe better regualtion to be sure there are no fraudulent voters.

  9. It's been six months since we applied (7/23) and I was just reading this forum and feeling sorry for myself when I got that e-mail ping... Application accepted! NOA2 sent! Two days of short of six months, so I guess they're still on track at the CSC. Sorta.

I am in total shock... We hadn't received so much as a touch since July, as far as I know! So it looks like the next step is to send Masayo (my wife to be) a copy of the NOA2 so she can get her police report thingy, and then a few weeks later she'll receive a packet with more forms to fill out? And I should be doing my affidavit of support and sending that her way in the near future?

Anything I'm missing? Looks like Tokyo for the interview (although she lives in Miyazaki). The Fukuoka embassy doesn't do interviews, right?

    Thanks all!

    Takuhi-

It looks as though things are moving along for you, don't be discouraged by " no action or no touches" before you know it things will roll in order .

My wife is from Miyazaki, She grew up in Obi just outside the walls of obi castle( Nichinan area), I love Miyazaki! We married at Aoshima Shrine.

I am not sure where her interview will be held I would think Nagasaki would be more likely a place than Tokyo, of course one of our friends who is from Nagasaki had to fly all the way to Osaka for her interview. You definatly should have the affidavit of support prepared and sent as soon as you can. Remember to include all requested info ( pay stubs, letter from employer on Co. letterhead varifying your employment status, wage and how long you have been employed. Staement of Account from your bank & tax transcripts.) I think its a great idea that you send her copies of everything you receive (such as Noa's ect.). & she should do the same that way if eiother of you are asked for info you will both be prepared and have wht you need

My wife & I had our interview here in CA., main reason is because she was already residing in the USA on a student Visa, we got married in Japan & USA and applied for AOS while she was in USA.

Best of Luck to you and your spouse. My wife was so happy to find someone here from Miyazaki.

The INS officer will have your file there, I brought an extra copy along incase they lost it along with all my originals. Dress professionally, and arrive early and everything should be fine.

As lissa mentions bring copies of everything you submitted with you roriginal package, The USCIS has been known to misplace things.

Our IO asked me for my tax return & current pay stub even though I had submitted them with my AOS package.

So it helped to have it ready when he asked made his job easier and the interview went smooth we were well prepared. put everything togther neatly in abinder so you can easily access it .

You dont' want to come accross as unorganized or unprepared, after all this is the most important step in your live together respect it as such.

    Arrive at least 15-30minutes early.

Should we bring our son? :P

Absolutly & bring his Birth Cert.

Having a child between the two of you shows definate validity to the relationship & Marriage, Just be sure he is well behaved ;)

  13. It's conceivable that we have the technology to cleanse and filter the toilet water to tap water. However, it just seems to be unpalatable (just darn right unappealing to think about).

####### to glass. Its a tough sell.

I can't wait to see the reaction from the usual suspects to that photo!

You call that an "####" looks Like Hank Hill's bare #######

  14. MSNBC saying about 20 Klansmen have arrived to join the protests.

hmmm..there be a few posters missing on vj today then....... ...that was just wrong

I doubt this " protest" will turn into anything significant. Similiar to the Illegal Aliens' Protests.

a bunch of reactionary chopf##ks..haters..who like to wrap themselves in the rhetoric of chrisitnaity and arryan superiority

Exactly, they don't even deserve the press or aknowledgement.

  15. I need help. Please.

My fiance sent a package in July. Well, he included 6 pictures of us. BUT, one of those pictures has a wrong date. It was only taken by his cellphone. He took all of them to Walgreen to develop. OK, the picture which was taken by his cell has a correct date on the back of the picture. Usually any pictures taken by cellphones show dates. He thought that the date was a file number. He got stressed out and tried his best to find the date. (well, it was there!). And he remember it was something summer, so he estimated that the date was July 10th. It caused trouble. It was taken by sep 9th, 2006 AND, on July 10th, I was visiting my family in Japan, so there was no way we could take a picture together. Well, now, I have no idea what to do. A lawyer said do not call USCIS and just wait. BUT, if I do not get RFE or any chances to fix this problem, I need to do that before my interview at the embassy. I do not want to swear before I fix. Should I send a letter to the embassy if I get NOA2? Or what should I do? How should I explain about this stupid mistake? I hope that USCIS deny us due to dishonesty. It was a simple error and we included other pictures which are fine. Ahh Pls. Help me. :crying:

You can be relieved in the fact that sending personal pictures with your package as "support" evidence is usually unnecessary and will have little if No bearing on the outcome of your case.

When you get the interview in front of USCIS officer that is when you submit "support evidence " of the relation ship joint account info, pictures, receipts for wedding rings ect.. When my wife & I were interviewed they didnt even glance at our pictures.

Unless the rules have changed since 2006 I wouldn't worry about this. I wouldn't worry about it unless you do get an RFE, then when or if that time comes re -submit what they ask for.

    Good Luck!

  16.

Bottomline is they lied to USCIS and it caught up with them.

Feel sorry for them as they appear to be very productive illegal immigrants when LOTS aren't.

Can't change the law for a few tho.

:diablo: Very true! If I am going to stick to my guns on the immigration issue than it's paalam "goodbye" to that couple... One less set of illegal immigrants! I'll even go one better, if they had kids, they should be deported with them... Unfortunately we have that stupid studid birth rule...

  17. Illegal Smuggling Odd man in Suitcase

EL PASO, Texas - A man hiding in a suitcase and a driver have been detained by Customs and Border Protection officers after a failed smuggling attempt. Authorities believe both men were headed for Denver.

The discovery came during a stop at the Paso del Norte port of entry on Tuesday. The large suitcase was in the back seat of a car.

The driver, 42-year-old Martin Enriquez Hernandez of Denver, was charged with alien smuggling.

  18. Did anyone click the link on the OP in this Thread?

Scroll down and look at the comments

Majority of America feels the same way

Illegal Immigrants should NOT be Immune or above the law, Immigration enforcement is WELCOMED.

The HIGH MAJORITY SUPPORTS & APPLAUDS the offorts of law enforcement & These Kind of Laws and Supports this knd of enfrocement.

    Kudos to the Police !

Notice how the Nice choice of wording in the headline baited people into believing a U.S. Citizen was arrested however notice that was an account made by the SHARPTONITE Hispanic Advocate. The individual was arrested forTRANSPORTING an ILLEGAL , ACCORDING TO THE Rev. Victor Orta II There was an arrest of US. Citizen. Also it is funny how the media likes to soften the truth by labeling ADVOCATES for ILLEGALS as "Hispanic Advocates"

So it makes those of us who support LEGAL Immigration out as RACIST or "anti-Immigrant"

  19. I suspect you sincerely believe it is that simple, if you are legal, your inconvenience would be appropriate and there would be no negative impact on your day to day life.

It's also interesting that anyone who questions this supposition is automatically supporting illegals and couldn't possibly have any other motivation.

    Thats where you are Wrong

OK Lets talk about Negativly Impacted by:

EVERY Day LEGAL USA CITIZENS & Legal Residents are Negativly Impacted by Illegal Immigrants

USA Middle class is Negativly Impacted by Illegal ALiens

Americas Social Services are Negativly Impacted by Illegals Criminals

Legal Children are Negative impacted by illegal Aliens in schools over run by on english speaking children of Illegals who require more attention and DEMAND special treatement to accomodate their deficiencies.

Legal Liscensed USA Drivers are Negativly Impacted paying higher insurance because Illegal Aliens who defy the law and drive illegally everyday.

Legal Citizens /residents are Negativly Impacted by The Higher cost of Health care due to Illegal Aliens draing the respurces of Health care facilities.

Legal Tax paying Citizens & residents are Negativly Impacted by illegal Aliens Working illegally Not paying taxes yet putting the burden of supporting their ilegal criminal asses on the USA TAX PAYERS in tune of 10+ Billion / year.

So I could care less about the minor inconveneince of you having to occasionally be asked about your citizenship status. WHA F*@KING WHA!

  20. You might think that's a price worth paying, but then again unless you're the one negatively impacted by it - you won't be paying that price will you?

OK Number 6 you brought it on Lets talk about Negativly Impacted by:

EVERY Day LEGAL USA CITIZENS are Negativly Impacted by Illegal Immigrants

USA Middle class is Negativly Impacted by Illegal ALiens

The 5th AmendmentPeople forget their rights

Exactly if you dont like to be asked your status then refuse & see what happens.

The minor inconveneince of having to prove or show your legal status is well worth the price of security, freedom & keeping illegals off our streets, the benefit outweighs the cost.
