My green card was mailed out on April 15 and I still haven't received it. I approached USPS and created multiple service requests reached out to the post office but they have no clue where the card is as it was never delivered. Any one have any idea what my next steps should be? I really appreciate any help. Thank you in advance.

USPS has one job and they can't do it properly... They deserve an award!!!!! And nobody over there is ever held accountable for the poor service provided.

This happened to me in 2018 when I first came. My green card was never delivered. I applied for an i90 and didn’t pay because there’s a category for a fee waiver if your document is lost in transit, after waiting several months I got denied because I didn’t pay the fee and the waiver didn’t apply to me because “the lost card was never returned to uscis”. Long story short, I reapplied for the i90 and paid this time around and got my replacement green card within 7-8 months.
If your temporary i551 stamp on your passport expires and you haven’t received the replacement GC, you can always schedule an appointment with uscis and have your passport restamped as an evidence of permanent residence.

    Hello,

I am hoping that someone can help me. I applied for my green card renewal in May 2019, and I received I-797 (green card extension letter) which would be active for 18 months.

After I went for my finger print last year, I have not received any more update from USCIS. I have called and they keep saying they will contact their back office. My extension letter is about to expire in September and I don’t know what to do.

If you’ve been in the US up to 3 years and married to the same US citizen spouse that filed for you then you can go ahead and apply for your citizenship whether you have gotten your approval or not.
Im waiting for my own i751 too and I called uscis on Friday and they told me that by November I can go ahead and apply for my citizenship whether I have gotten my removal of condition or not, as long as I’m still married to my husband.

    Hi guys,

So I finally travelled to the US yesterday and got in around 9pm local time. My POE was Newark, I wasn't asked a single question , the Immigration officer took my packet, stamped my visa and welcomed me to the United States. Within 1hr I was done, the only sad part was they took my suya (😭😭😭 , my Nigerian folks would understand) the journey has been a tedious one and I'm so glad to be with my dear hubby. I wish every one success , and my prayers are with you guys. Just hang in there, it would soon be over .

    Yaayyy! Thank God. Finally!!

I didn't even bother carrying any foodstuffs except roasted Isam (periwinkle) for my hubby bcs he can't do without it ooh. I was surprised they let me through with it.

Welcome sis, and thank God for Journey mercies. Enjoy your new life!

Last update...we picked up my husbands visa yesterday!! They included the letter that said since we are part of the new modernized system, there is no packet to bring to the U.S. Everything is now electronic. We're going to wait until after our 2 year anniversary to move back, so he can get the IR-1.

I can't believe this process is finished!! Took a little over 13 months. We could not have done it without the help & support of everyone on this site. We're so grateful & it was really helpful to know that we weren't alone...and that it's normal to go through so many emotions during this process! I wish you all the best as you come to the end of this journey! 💖

    Finally.. Congratulations!

Congrats!! ceac now shows issued today, still waiting for the alert to pickup. Safe trip to the USA!!

Thanks a lot. U should get ur pickup notification later today. Hopefully it comes early enough so u can pick it up today. In any case, u can still go to the dhl office at about 4pm today, they'll give it to you if they already have it, even though u don't receive the notification on time.. otherwise your next pickup will be Wednesday. They close at 4:30pm.

Pls did u take all your immunization shots? I was asked to take two more shots after one month of the initial medical. Just wondering if that can be taken when one arrive in the US instead of waiting one month to take it here in Nigeria.

I didn't take any more shots. I was told I have one more for the 30th of May but I'd take that in America, hence the immunisation paper given to you to hand to the cbp officer at the poe.

Question guys, My child is 7 years old and immigrating with me in the US. Do we still have to pay Green Card Fee (Immigration Fee) since it is automatic for her to become us citizen when she come to US.

Thank you very much for the answer?

Let your petitioner Call uscis. They are in a better position to answer that question. Good luck to you and yours.

Thanks to God for your success!!! My husband got approved today and need to know if he is getting any packet and how to pay the GC fee since the Alien/DOS number were not on the white paper issued.

Congratulations to your husband. Once he has collected his visa package which should be by Fri, you will find the A number on it. The DOS number though is your nvc case number.

Hope he has registered for his pickup? If he hasn't, the information is in one of the white papers given to him by the CO. Good luck!

So guys our interview is coming up in 4 weeks

on 20 June at Islamabad embassy.

So any recent interview at Islamabad embassy who was given 5535 form for secuirty checks?

I have heard they are giving it to many people and it is taking more than 6 months to visa issued at Islamabad embassy after replying to this form.

Someone sent a Download link for the form 5535 and advised that it should be taken to the interview and Given to the CO.. Apparently that reduces the waiting time. Check the last 2 or 3 pages, you will find the link somewhere. Good luck to you!

Of course you can get bad eggs anywhere, the comment is about frequency.

To quote an Immigration Lawyer USCIS grades Consulates into 4 levels, Low, Moderate, High and Lagos.

He had set fees for most things, but not Lagos.

Posters fiancé or whatever he is is definitely a scam.. but I think your quote is actually a bit of an exaggeration..

I'm Nigerian and this process from uscis to interview has been smooth sailing for me(you can check my timeline) and it's been the same for a whole lot of other Nigerians in this forum.

There are a FEW glaring fraud cases, yes.. but definitely not Low, Moderate, High and "Lagos" as you or the Immigration Lawyer put it.

Ps: Immigrants at the embassy in Nigeria(Lagos) are given priority and preferential treatments if I may say so. 😊

I dont understand? Is that how they ask people if the use drugs before ? With out differentiating what type of smoke they are talking about,if it cegeritte or marijuana?

I don't quite understand ur concern. It's a standard thing to ask during any type of medical exercise if u smoke or use drugs. I was also asked the same at Q life.

If drug testing is part of the requirements, they have ur blood and urine so they will test on it and find out. So that's what you should be concerned about!  Plus cigarette smoking is not a crime and not a reason why u would be denied a visa if at all.
