All cases around mine got RFE and just me and one more number are right in the middle of around 30 RFE Thats funny
im sure that they worked on more cases but maybe they are trying to keep in until NVC will process some cases because right now maybe they have busy time there so they are focusing on RFEs? Because it will take some time to get responses on them? Hmm maybe that is the case. Im glad that they are working on my received day and other february cases

Microsoft just released a major security patch for a vulnerability on patch Tuesday. I am guessing they may have Microsoft SQL servers as a back end. Outage will be short if that is the case

I still don't think it was expedited because of the wording of the response of your congressman. Also the period of time was too short to pull and expedite a case, don't you think? I still believe there are cases approved not updated in the system.
Nonetheless happy you are moving forward!!! And don't forget to let us know when your statuses change online or u are in a receipt of an email.

An arrest record and a conviction record is 2 different things. If you were arrested for murder but were not convicted of murder, you're gonna need a certified court record/copy of the arrest record that shows the final disposition. Disposition means what the outcome or ending of your arrest case (ex. where the charges dropped/dismissed, did you take a plea that after you finish the terms of the agreement the charges were dropped/arrest record expunged etc.) If you were convicted, you are still gonna have to provide a certify court record/copy of the what the sentencing was. Whether you do the K1 or spousal visa, I would advise you fully disclose and make sure you have all court documentation to provide proof of each or any offense.
And no I'm not a lawyer, just have been working in the legal/compliance industry for 10+ years, but this not legal advice.

I don't know what is going on there, and I've decided to stop speculating and trying to figure it out - it's making me crazy. But i agree that it's concerning. I posted earlier about the fact that there are a bunch of RFEs being sent out... true, those cases are being touched and that is a good thing. But if none of the responses are being turned into approvals, then is it really considered progress?? It's just adding more cases back into the pile that need approval/attention.
We contacted our senator this morning, and I will keep the forum updated on any news we hear. We didn't address the issue from the perspective of "we want our case approved right now", because I don't believe that will get us anywhere and there are plenty of people who have already had a much longer wait than us. Instead, we asked for support in determining the following:
- Why the processing rate (specifically approvals) has pretty much stopped for this month
- Why we are essentially being lied to by USCIS when they tell us that they're not processing January cases at all yet
- Where our fees are being spent, if it is taking some people up to (and over) 7 months to hear anything
I backed all of this up by providing a spreadsheet of case numbers for January filers, and included their current status, and also pointed out that this data is public domain and fairly obtained. Anyone can get their hands on it without any kind of scan or coding, if you have the time and patience to do manual searches on the app and website, and it contradicts everything we're being told by USCIS online and on the phone.
Like I said, I don't imagine this enquiry resulting in an approval for us, and I'm not even overly optimistic about getting any of the information we asked for either. But I cannot take the daily disappointment anymore without at least doing *something* to try and get answers.
I will post again if/when I hear anything.

There are so many variables involved with planning due to waiting on the USCIS. This stresses me out because I can't plan any specifics; however, there are several things I have been thinking about. The housing situation is taken care of. I have a house and it's ready for my fiance and his son (14 yr old). When they arrive, I need to get his son enrolled in school. I'm not sure when we will marry. I wanted to do it as soon as he arrived, but his sister wants to attend. I'll be traveling to Ecuador in two weeks. I will be there for a month, so we will discuss that in more detail later; but we have talked about marrying at the courthouse and then having a larger wedding (renewing of vows) at a later date. My fiance doesn't speak English, so he will be spending a lot of time learning the language. I currently have a master's degree and I am a high school teacher (Web and Digital Design); but I am finishing up my last graduate course in ESOL (English to Speakers of other Languages). I will be officially certified to teach him English and help his son as well. We are an older couple (he is 53 and I am 49). We have experienced a lot in life so I believe we will be able to handle the difficulties. I know there will be some. I've been single for many years and my daughter (29) just passed away in August. He has also had a daughter that passed away. She was 13. I have traveled to Europe and South America. He was in the Ecuadorian military and has lived in Spain for many years. I just hope his son adjusts well. He and his father are very close, and he will have all the support he needs from the both of us; but he is still a kid. This is going to be challenging.
I thought that our applications would have been processed by now and I was hoping for an interview date in June while I am there visiting. It still may be possible, but there is nothing that can speed up the process. I have, however, gathered all of the paperwork needed for the interview process. We still need to get medical done and get several copies of their records (marriage/divorce, birth certificates, letter from employer, school transcripts). I know we will need certain original certifications in order to apply for jobs, school, licenses, etc. I hope to get a letter of recommendation from his employer as well. I'm excited about our future, but also have a little anxiety. We just need to take one day at a time. I was very excited yesterday when I checked my case status online and discovered that the case logged right after mine received an RFE. I was hoping to get an approval yesterday...Still hopeful to receive one soon. My NOA1 was Feb 1.
Edit: You guys make a nice-looking couple and young too! What have y'all been preparing for?

All online case status movement stopped on 5/5 and 5/4 too (including RFEs, etc). So many speculated that maybe nothing was processed at all in the past few days (nobody did anything, or they were doing something else). Approvals have not been seen since about 5/2 or 5/3. The good news is that today, 5/8, we are seeing cases showing as being touched on 5/4 and 5/5, which means there was some sort of delay getting the cases updated in the online system. The hope now is that approvals have happened and have been mailed, and will hit the system delayed, maybe tonight.

Confirmed. I am seeing RFE movement into 5/4/17 and 5/5/17. I know there were no 5/5 dates in my data last week or over the weekend. This means that there was a delay in cases being entered into online status. Now I'm hoping we see a backlog of approvals hit during today or tonight. I have my fingers, arms, legs, toes and eyes crossed.

Hello dear February Filers!! 😍
I've gotten more and more frustrated, especially since last week. Therefore, I began to search online why processing have been vastly slowed down. And by doing that, I thankfully found you! So I decided to say Hi.
I was reading all of your comments for the last few hours...hahah...It encourages me and I'm thankful for all the advice, encouragement and the scans you provide. It's just awesome to finde people you can relate to.
I wish you all a speedy and less frustrating process. 😘

USCIS just selected me for a survey! They wanted to know how they could improve the process. OMG, I let them have it!!! I told them that it's horrendous and downright unethical keeping us in limbo for months, years, not knowing if or when we will see our loved ones again. I feel like I am back in freaking kindergarten.

That's why we are here to help ease the immigration stress. We are a hell of a lot cheaper than a attorney.

JayCee17 reacted to Scandi in What's next after NOA2? 2017
When we got the i-129f approval the wait time for NVC to receive and create a case was around 30 days, it might be different now. I bet you can start calling NVC around 2 weeks after the petition approval to see if they have a case number for you.
Once you get your case number you can check the status here https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx
The earliest status you can see there is "at NVC", simply meaning NVC has your case and still hasn't sent it to the embassy. The next status would be "in transit" and then "ready". Ready means that the embassy has received your case.

There were files being processed from other months and February cases had not been touched. All of a sudden ONE box of cases from February 6 were being touched. It was out of the ordinary...unpredictable order. So everyone started calling this the "rogue box". We were hoping there would be more "rogue boxes" finding their way on someone's desk so the cases would be processed. I hope this explains it.
