I am so sorry for what happened to you. I am Iranian and under administrative processing after my interview on August 23rd (master in computer engineering, IT job and my nationality caused it). They gave my passport back and I know we have to wait for a year or so.I received a blue slip and administrative processing box was marked. We got married in May 2016 too.
Officer asked me why we got married on first visit, But when she saw the passport stamps of 3 trips and i explained that we've known each other 2 years before marriage and that we did not want to have a long term relationship out of marriage (because of our religion and culture) she was convinced. She did not even ask for our pics together nor for chat history. My husband and i have same educational degree, same religion and he is just a year older than me and I was still questioned about the marriage on the first visit.
As a young couple i totally understand the money issue for taking more trips, But in Islamic and middle eastern culture men are considered as family provider, so it might be suspicion if you tell you had to save for the trip and you don't have the money for more trips, there will be a question why your husband did not pay for the second trip (I am sure you had your own reasons, I am just trying to help with the possible concerns).
The officers usually get more suspicious about the non-USC spouse and his/her intentions. I know it hurts and sometimes it seems to be unfair.
I really hope the reply you got from the website will help and convince them and your husband gets his visa. Fingers crossed for your family.

Don't take the off-topic tangent personally...it went off topic a bit because the issue surrounding the officer thinking of possible fraud came up earlier on in this thread...not that you and your husband were being fraudulent.  Sometimes in a forum of this size, side-conversations can happen as different points are brought up, debated, debunked, what-have-you.

It's sad and stressful for you and your loved one to be going through this right now, especially when you know you have an honest relationship.  Unfortunately, there are bad apples in every corner of every country that spoils things for the rest of us and makes the immigration process much harder on everyone trying to do things "right".  Be comforted by the knowledge that you ARE in a bonafide relationship, and have nothing to hide by giving them the further documentation they require.  I wish you both well.

In my opinion, I would submit that along with a letter again explaining how you met and that you were a visitor at the time...not signed into an account where you could save the conversations.

If they kept his passport, that's a good sign. Try your best to get the specific chat they requested. If you can't get it, try to get an email or letter from the site explaining why they can't provide it.

Hi @DianaB -- sorry to hear about your situation. I have actually heard about this from a friend of mine and what she told me her husband (fiancee at the time) went through, well it was degrading, intimidating and went on for hours! They called him a liar, laughed, drilled him, asked the same questions over and over, they were aggressive and tried to trick him while questioning him (changing dates, names, places etc.).

This is not a common everyday ordinary interview method, like the one we recently had, where everyone was professional. It is more like interrogation (which is a profession on its own), which means that they can and will create a hostile environment in order to get some useful information for their case. I cannot say that I agree with how humanity deals with many things, but when it is about protecting the country, these tactics are deployed, much to my dismay.

That said, what your husband has gone through is a good indication on what can (or might) happen when a couple is lacking substantial and quality face time (time spent together) coupled with a first time meeting and getting married (unless it is customary such as an arranged marriage).

What can be done at this point? Send your findings from parachat to the Embassy and wait the 221G out. Once you hear from them, you can make plans for the future. If they approve, then no need to worry, but in case there is a snag, then plan for more trips and longer stays!

My best to you and your husband...

    LionessDeon,

Thanks a lot for your reply and words. Means a lot to me. You are right about everything you've said. I have to remain calm and stay positive for me and my husband through this. I will do everything they asked for and requested as soon as possible.
