Hi, Thank you for your kind replies. @NuestraUnion It was a post I posted myself and thanks to @Steeleballz I was able to find it the only thing is that it didn't say "my activity" it was more like "reputation activity" I didn't know it was there.

Thank you for sharing, I want to know, was the NOA letter the letter that extends your GC? or do you receive a separate letter extending Greencard? does the new "extention" match the same date as your old expiration (ie: older jan-1-2018, then new jan-1-2019)?

Hi, do old posts get deleted or archived? I was trying to find an old post I wrote about my own interview experience and I can't find it anywhere, I checked my content, my profile activity, and forum topics in my profile the oldest pot I see is from February 2017 and the post I wanted to find is from Probably January 2017

Looking at the ROC thread I see many people send their I-751 (Removal of Condition Application) at the same time of their N-400 (application for naturalization).
How does this work? I thought you had to be married to a US citizen for 3 years AND be a legal resident for 3 years (ROC means you've barely had a GC for two... right?), I thought both conditions had to be met in order to apply for naturalization, Is that not the case? because most of us got the GC many months after marriage so how are ppl able to file those two forms at the same time? I don't understand
Can somebody please explain?
-
Hi Everyone,
For all of you who already did the removal of conditions, How did you know the exact date to send out your application?
So my Green Card expires on Jan 31 2019, but I don't know how to calculate the "90 day window" is it all regular days or just business days (no holidays no weekends)??

Did you ever find out why it was not returned?? I just got the same notice and I'm freaking out! Was it automatically resent? Or did you get the notice on the 22nd because you did the e-request? Also, did you phone the post office to fix the issue? Help/reassurance would be fantastic!
@msw1992 sorry I didn't get the chance to read your post before. I sincerely hope your case is all good by now .
To answer your question, No. I never got a "reason" as to why it was lost. I dealt with USCIS only. I never called USPS because I felt like the post office would be the most frustrating dead end, since they would probably "Start an investigation" but couldn't send me a copy of what they lost let alone find what they lost .
Yes, I did receive a "copy of interview letter" BECAUSE I placed the e-request as soon as I realized there was a problem AND pestered the USCIS agents on the phone. Multiple calls, multiple 1st tier agents will tell you that all you should do now is wait for the copy, don't despair. Call again and try again, you WILL get a different agent. I talked to at least two 2nd tier agents and another handful of other 1st tier agents, I did not desist until they offered a solution to the "what if it doesn't come in time?". One of the 2nd tier agents asked me to wait until 7 days before my interview, and if I hadn't received the copy I requested (through the e-request ) by then, he offered to give me a case number where he wrote down instructions to Fax me a copy if necessary. Knowing that I had the option to request a faxed copy made it a little easier to wait and see IF the copy would come through the mail in time. and it came eight days before my interview.
FYI, 6 days after my interview I received my greencard without any problem at all. Same address oh USPS
Good luck and best wishes!!!

Can't Believe it's been 255 days since I started the AOS June 2016 Filers forum.
Yesterday afternoon I got the pleasant surprise of finding my Green Card in the mailbox...no email, no text message, no app notification whatsoever. But I will say that I am so incredibly relieved that I have it in my hands. So much, that my hubby and I went out to celebrate!! Date night...yeiiii!!!!!
What a different experience from the K1 Visa process.
The AOS process was sloooooooooow, and with no update information at all. It was nerve wrecking!!!! I stayed in "Fingerprint fee received" limbo for the majority of the process. I am grateful that I was not required to have an interview, which would have prolonged this more, and that I didn't get a RFE. But most of all I am glad I kept myself distracted enough, not to get overwhelmed by the prolonged wait.
My focus now is on continuing enjoying life with my wonderful husband and to be ready for the next step which is the Removal of Conditions in a year and nine months. Let the countdown begin once more!!!
I wish everyone the best of luck and a happy life!!! Hope our paths cross once more in this great site and its helpful forums.
Take care!!!
@Jannina Congrats!!!

anyone else still waiting? or is it just me left?
My wait ended today when I received my green card on the mail !
It's a long process and I wish you the best of luck, just hang in there and hopefully they will get to your case soon.
Call them and inquire about the reason of such delay.
My AOS was a total of 258 Days

Yes ours said if we didn't receive it by February 3 then we should place an inquiry so I did.
Still a little frustrating when most people receive their cards a few days after getting the notice that the card has been mailed.
@Russell&Maria Best wishes to you, and hopefully they will send you your card soon

Got my GC Today!!! I think my mom heard my celebration screech all the way to Seoul

Hey June filers, we attended my wife's AOS interview December 21 in San Francisco. We received e-mail and text notices that she was approved on December 29th and then received another e-mail and text that the green card was supposedly mailed on January 4th. Now 1 month later we still have not received it. I put in an inquiry and they gave the standard your request will be answered within 30 days. Just checking to see if anyone else has been approved but it took over a month to receive the green card. We have received every piece of mail sent up to this point and the EAD/AP card only took a few days to get to us once it was sent so there has been no issues receiving anything from immigration. Strangely we never received a USPS tracking number for the green card though we got one for the EAD/AP card. I'm hoping this just means it hasn't been mailed yet. Hopefully they are just slow mailing these things out right now.
Sorry to hear that. You can request so that they send it again or send it period here is the link: www.uscis.gov/e-request
Did the email say the deadline until when to wait for the card? mine literally says:
QuoteIf you do not receive your card by March 4, 2017, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request that we send your new card to you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

We sent a copy of our marriage certificate, husband's 1040 (taxes) for the past 3 years, a copy of his birth certificate and copies of both our passports. Everything else we brought it at the interview. If you already have the evidence I would say, send it, otherwise just bring it to the interview, you should be fine. Regarding the filing fees, it's best to go by the official USCIS.gov website to verify you have included what they require.

Overstayed on tourist visa?
Regardless, he has a 10 year ban. The petition will get denied and waivers will need to be filed. A lawyer will best be needed. Will be a long and somewhat expensive process.
On 1/29/2017 at 6:14 PM, zuluweta said:The person overstayed a visa and is currently doing AOS. He is in the U.S. and the 10-year ban does not apply since he's married to a U.S. Citizen.
@NuestraUnion There is no 10 year ban. His application won't be denied over an expired/overstayed visa. I think what you've described applies to
a) people who overstayed and left the country, meaning they are outside of the US
or
b) people who border crossed their way into the states.
@zuluweta is right. no ban for someone who overstayed but it's still in the US and married to US citizen.
My student visa was close to expiring before we knew for sure when we could file for AOS and I had read up on this. As long you can prove you've entered the country legally (be it student visa, tourist visa, H-1B visa) you're okay as long as you don't leave the country since you entered legally. The difference is you can't or shouldn't apply for advanced parole because your re-entry would not be guaranteed.
In other words, if you've overstayed your visa, until you have your green card in hand, don't even consider traveling outside the U.S.
Regarding Drump, or as I call him, Lying Cheato... No one knows. True Americans feel uncertain and it sucks but I choose to believe this country is greater than a single person and his groupies. It'll pass and we'll heal. As of right now, Cheato's policy don't directly affect your friend's process but that's not set in stone.
Lawyer? that's up to and how informed you are about the process. I didn't feel like we needed a lawyer but that's a decision on a case by case, person to person scenario.
Best of Luck and Hope for the best!!!

Since I filed at the end of May I stuck around June filers just now found this thread.. oops.
Yesterday I had my green card interview (on day 252) It went well and we got approved within an hour of leaving the interview.
To those from May who are still waiting, Just hang in there and best of luck. I'll try to update my timeline on this post in case it gives anyone some hope.

I wanted to make an update for those still preparing for the interview. I did post my full detailed account in this post
But here are the straight questions they asked:
- Have you traveled outside the US since your arrival? for me
- Have you applied for US residency before? for me
- where do you work? what do you do? for my husband
- Have you sponsored anyone else before? for my husband
- How and when did you two meet? for both
- When did you start dating? for both
- She asked to see the original certified copy of my husband's birth certificate and then asked if I had photocopy, I did have one so she took it.
- She asked where was I born for me
- The first name of both my parents for me
- She asked if I was working. for me
- She asked for my social security number for me
- Then she asked if we brought any pictures for both
- Last, thing she asked was we had any other Proof that we were living together as a married couple both

If you're curious about what the interview was like, I've posted a painfully detailed topic of how it went. I warn you it's long so yeah

I wanted to share with you our experience going into the green card Interview.
We were scheduled for Tuesday January 31st at 10:15 am, at the Miami-Kendall office. I've known this date for over a month and we thought we prepared accordingly.
Below is a list of things I brought to our interview:
QuoteSUPPORTING EVIDENCE:
- BANK STATEMENTS OF JOINT ACCOUNT
- INSTANT MESSAGES PRINTOUTS (VIBER) [ I printed 30 pages of each year since we started dating back in 2014)
- COUPLE AND FAMILY PHOTOS (These are very important, also even if you bring a photo album choose a couple of nice ones and bring them loose, so that the officer can add it to the file)
- WEDDING PHOTOS
- Itineraries of all trips we've been to as a couple
- Lease agreement with both names on it
- PHONE BILL SHOWING BOTH OUR NUMBERS
- Uhaul Truck Contract copy
BRING ORIGINALS AND COPIES OF:
- Birth Certificates
- Passports
- SSN CARDS
- I-94
- Certified copy of marriage certificate
- Medical Examination sealed package
- DMV issued Driver License
- EAD/AP combo card
- Joint Credit cards (3)
- Car INSURANCE CARD
- Health INSURANCE POLICY with both our names
- JOINT TAX RETURN 2016 (1040EZ)
- CONTRACT FOR wedding venue and a couple of other wedding vendors
- PHONE CONTRACT with both our numbers under same account
- Wedding Invitations and Save the Dates
- Wedding congratulatory cards
- Wedding Guest Book
HUBBY’S DOCS
- Copy of Affidavit of Support,
- 4 recent pay stubs
- employer letter,
- W2 2016
Some may have thought this list was a little overkill..... and it was . Yes I brought every item in that list plus, a complete copy of the package we sent initially and a second photo album, altogether I brought a little over 200 photos (our wedding album, a second album and 100 loose photos).
The night before the interview I went over my checklist obsessively until I thought it was all good, I left everything prepared and ready to go, and the morning of the interview I made it my goal to leave as early as reasonably possible.
That's tip #1: Don't be late. not if, no buts, you can't be late for this.
Our appointment was for 10:15 am
We got to the place a full 47 minutes before interview (9:28 am), taking all the time we gathered our things and walked in. With interview letter in hand we passed security and they told us where to check in. At the check-in counter they asked for my name, interview letter and ID (my passport) they kept the letter and told us to take a seat. They said nothing about our phones, we had them all the time (SILENCED), so during our wait my husband and I were mostly on facebook and other SNS. The first time they called our names was at 10:00am (we had been waiting about 30 minutes or so) the lady from the check-in counter was the one who called my name to give us back the interview letter and said they will call us again shortly and she pointed to a door telling us to take a seat close by that door. The door kept opening and closing as they called other people and as the other couples left their interviews, When it was our turn 40 minutes later (10:40ish AM) This time the door open, a lady called my name and then we followed her into her tiny windowless office.
Her attitude was not at all friendly, not mean, just very not none-sense kinda of thing. It was clear that small talk was not an option.
First thing she said once we were in her office was "stand up, lift your right hand", and then she swore both of us, ( we did have to lift our right hands and promise we were telling the truth) after that she asked for the interview letter and Both our IDs, she then started to go over my application, The one I sent back n May. There was so much silence, as she used a red pen to check and write stuff down not even looking at us she asked me "Have you traveled outside the US since your arrival?", I Haven't, then she asked "Have you applied for US residency before?", I haven't and then still looking at the application, she said my husband's name then asked him "where do you work? what do you do? " he answered "Have you sponsored anyone else before?" he hasn't. Then she asked him if he could verify our address so he did, next she asked me all the default list of "are you or have you ever worked as a prostitute? are you part of the communist party, do you plan to be a terrorist? bla, bla, to which I answered NO to all of it .
Here is a list of all questions we were asked:
How and when did you two meet?
When did you start dating?
She asked to see the original certified copy of my husband's birth certificate and then asked if I had photocopy, I did have one so she took it.
She asked where was I born
The first name of both my parents
She asked if I was working.
She asked for my social security number
Then she asked if we brought any pictures :
First I gave her our wedding album, as she flipped through it her attitude relaxed for the first time since ever. We had a wedding at a Banquet Hall with 70 guest and 6 bridesmaids a ring boy and flower girl. The album itself looks very professional since it was put together by our wedding photographer, I don't mention this to brag, I say it because looking back and thinking of her attitude, from my perspective if it was not a turning point it was a key point. Both our families were in the pictures, more his than mine for obvious reasons. As she went through the album I tried my best to tell her who these people were, for example "oh, that is my mother in law, her name blank.... oh these kids are my husband's niece and nephew (cutest 5 and 6 year-olds you'll ever see) They were our ring boy and flower girl... That's my cousin "Blank" she was my maid of honor and she signed our wedding certificate as a witness... you get the idea. I also showed her one of our wedding invitations and the cards we made for "save the date" (she kept both) I did offer to show our wedding guest book and a couple of congratulatory cards from the wedding guest but she said it was okay and didn't need to see those. Next I brought out the Loose pictures which I had pre-grouped and separated by categories, these were pictures from our California-Vegas honeymoon, Family events and Birthdays, just the two of us at different dates (museums, las vegas roadtrip, restaurants etc) and she actually laughed at the halloween pictures of us dressed as pokemon (Halloween 2016 I was pikachu and hubby was Ash) for Halloween 2015 we were the King and Queen of Hearths . I said Pictures were important, I brought over 200 altogether and she didn't get to see even half of that. This is why is soooo important you make a point of selecting the "must see" group and show that first (Family pictures, Trips, places and experiences you've shared together, Holidays, major events like graduations) , from this group I can tell you she kept over 35 pictures for her file even the Halloween ones, she never saw my second album.
Last, thing she asked was we had any other Proof that we were living together as a married couple
For this I handed the following documents:
- Joint account Bank statements
- Phone bill with both our names
- Rent receipts with both our names
- Rent Lease with both our names
- Car Insurance Card with both our names
- 3 years worth of instant messaging on Viber (we have A LOT! so I selected only about 30-50 pages per year for a total of 100 something pages, I printed this and put it on a tabbed by year folder)
With this, the interview concluded as she explained to us that we would know the decision within 30 days and if approved, my green card would be under conditional status for 2 years and that it was our responsibility to file for form I-751 within 90 days BEFORE the expiration of my temporary green card. She USCIS wouldn't send any kind of reminder, it's something completely up to us.
After leaving the interview and as my nerves settled on our way back to the car, I was mortified to realize ALL THE STUFF I FORGOT TO SHOW!!! I never gave her or showed our joint tax return for 2016, or the copies I made of our joint credit cards, I didn't show I was on his health insurance plan, or his letter of employment, and most of all and to my horror I forgot to bring up the fact that back in July I received an RFE because my medical exam was missing a signature so I was supposed to go back to my doctor fix it and bring a fresh copy sealed to the interview, I DID this, I had it and because I was nervous and the officer didn't ask for it I forgot .
So my husband and I get in the car and on the drive to a place to grab lunch we keep telling each other "it didn't go so bad, we knew the answer could probably not be intimidate, we answered what she asked bla bla" now it's a waiting game we can add more evidence later if they ask for more it'll be fine. Our attitude was mostly "Please don't freak out yet" but by the time we made it to the restaurant I check my phone and lo and behold there two almost identical emails from USCIS as a "Post Decision Activity" one for the i-130 and one for the i-485 and it said our Application Was approved!!!! I read 4 times before I showed it to my husband and then we had Mojitos!!
I'm still waiting for the confirmation letter on the mail but it's only been 24 hours, the weight I've got off my shoulders can't be measured right now. I hope this helps you get some perspective and give you hope in your process. Thank you all for all your support!!!

This is a good list, and we brought a lot of the same information to our interview. The one additional item we brought was a copy of our K1 package as well (I didn't see that on your list). The IO did not look at much of what we brought other than the photo album, a birth certificate from my adult step-son, and our updated taxes since our interview occurred after we filed our updated taxes. Most of the information on your list will be very relevant for the ROC (I am assuming this interview will be for a two year GC), so make sure you save it for that filing.
Good Luck!
yes you are correct, this is interview for green card but I'm adjusting from a student visa didn't do the k1 process but thanks!!!

in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
Posted
Hi!
It's day 191 since my ROC priority date (12/11/2018) I called USCIS and it's still within normal processing time but I am confused about biometrics, Will I need to do Biometrics for this? I thought there was a fee for it? , also does anyone see this on their online account??? :
What do they mean by "waived" the check was cashed as per usual, are they talking about Biometrics???
