For those of you that already did their interview, what questions did you get? I noticed not much is shared about the process of the interview from those who got approved.

Good morning!
Last week I was feeling ill and I was diagnosed with Covid and was told to isolate for 5 days. I'm fully vaccinated and I'm feeling ok now but my interview is on the 25th. According to the letter if you're diagnosed 14 days before your interview you have to reschedule. The thing is on the 25th it would be 15 days after the day I got the test done. I went ahead and requested to reschedule to play it safe but the agent on the phone told me if I am feeling fine I am free to attend my original appoinment but he mentioned I might get rejected at the office field.
Anyone else with the same issue? Should I go to my interview or wait for them to contact me to reschedule? Does having a pending reschedule request will impact if they let me inside the building?
I don't want to keep waiting but I would hate to travel over an hour to get to my field office to be rejected.

I finally received my interview letter! Now I have to study.. those of you who did the test. Was it hard? 🤔

I’ll be applying next month under the 3 year rule too. Can you please share what documents did you upload ?
Thank You
Hi.
I included everything that is requested in the website. Green card, proof of husband citizenship, 3 years of tax returns, proof of name change, proof of marriage, proof of time away from the country. The application online is very user friendly (in my experience) however I think some questions are worded in a certain way to confuse you.
Best of luck

I'm not the person you asked but I figured it would be good to share what evidence I uploaded. I didn't upload TOO much because my RoC was already approved earlier this year.
1. Joint bank account statements (1 each from 2021, 2020 and 2019). For ROC, I had included 4 bank statements for each year. I got lazy for N400...
2. Taxes (2020, 2019, 2018)
3. Property deed with our names on it
4. Marriage certificate
5. Husband's birth certificate to prove his US citizenship
I also finally applied for a state ID card (I'm not a good driver so I don't have an actual license yet) because I think they will ask for some kind of state ID for the N400 interview. I'm in Los Angeles and my interview was scheduled only 1 week after online filing. 😬
That was so fast! So Happy for you!

Hi, I filled last night online, I have not received a notice of reusing biometrics, they did reuse biometrics last year to remove conditions, maybe they want new ones. Hopefully this process will move forward quickly.
I apply for the 3 years and married to US citizen. Do you guys know the time frame atm?

Thank you for all the responses, I know I am still a legal resident but I was planning to wait until I was a citizen. I guess it is safe just to have her come and visit.

Hi.
I'm wondering if it is possible to apply to bring my niece without having to apply for her mother. I do not have a great relationship with her and my niece suffers while staying with her. She's over 18 and I'm not sure if it is possible. I'd like her to live with me but if not we are considering at least a tourist visa so she can come and spend a few months with me every year.
Any advice would be great.

The amount of bank statements you might have for a K-1 application and the amount of data required for an I-751 are very different. The instructions on the I-751 form state very clearly that the data submitted must cover the time from the marriage to the time of submission - so that, by default, covers two years of data.

Nowhere in my message I said that this is what I did for a k1, I am speaking about my ROC and I didn't even need an interview. Everyone's experience is different, I had a strong case so bank statements were not as important.

Hello everyone,
I’m preparing my I-751 with supporting and the packages is getting quite big! I printed bank statements for the past 3 years (since the day of marriage) and it’s like 3-4 pages per month. 300 pages only bank statements! Is that normal?
I might have to use a box to send it out!
I really don't think you need that much, for bank statements I only sent the last 2 months received. I don't think they appreciate over documenting. What other evidence will you be sending?

Hi guys!
I just received an email update saying there's been an update to my case. Online says a my new card is being produced. Does this mean they approved my petition? It seems quite fast since I filed in May.
Anyone has seen something similar?
Thank you!

No problem and yeah we've got similar timelines (I applied August 2017 and was approved October 2018). I JUST applied for RoC and I was complaining to my husband about having to pay higher fees for citizenship. But we are also lucky that we got AoS and RoC out of the way too. AoS total costs are going up by almost $1000 because they're going to start charging for EAD/AP!!! Anyway, just write down when your N-400 application window begins in your agenda or day planner and file when you're ready.
As someone else pointed out, your K1 visa period does not count towards permanent residency. The green card is the permanent residency, nothing else.
Oh wow, they really want our money. I hope our ROC gets approved without interview and to have it soon. But every time I'm about to do something with USCIS the timeline gets worse.
So frustrating!

Yes you can definitely apply for N-400 when you are ELIGIBLE. According to your signature, you became a permanent resident in 2018. You can't apply for citizenship until 2021 (90 days before your 3-year permanent residency anniversary). Do not apply for it now. They will take your money and then rightfully deny you.
I totally forgot about that. Yes the card was delayed and I've been a green card holder for 2 years and counting. It's such a shame I guess I'll just have to pay the higher fee and wait a little longer.
Thank you again for your help!

Thank you everyone for their input! I will begin to prepare my package for naturalization!

Hi.
I'm kinda lost here. So I have been a legal resident for 3 years and happily married with a US Citizen for 3 years as well. I believe I can apply now to become a citizen. I received a NOA saying my current removal of conditions is pending and have the 18 months extension.
Is it safe to apply for Citizenship now or do I need to wait until I have my conditions removed?
Any word of advice would be great.
Thank you!

Yeah just found that out now. It’s still there I was wondering how and why they removed it but checked and it’s there.
I sent the request and today I received a response that they will send me a copy of the notice within 30 days. I hope it arrives sooner than that.
Thank you for your help!

I tried to select any of the options and the system would say it is not possible:
This is so frustrating... What am I doing wrong???

I am trying to fill the request online that I didn't receive a document but the option I need isn't there...
Anyone else had this issue????

It was my NOA! Thank God!
Did you email them to request a copy of it? Or just arrived normally?
-
I was planning to just wait for them to catch up but I need to find the most effective way to ask them to give me a NOA or at least the passport stamp. I'm less than a month from a expired green card. I've seen mixed reactions so anyone who has received their NOA after reaching out to them. Who did you call/email or what did you do to finally obtain a NOA through the mail?

Which Service Center was assigned your case?
Who did you email or who did you call to receive this answer?

So no NOA. This is insaine. It was just a notification about them using the biometrics.

I believe is a letter to let you know that your fingerprints are been applied.
Hopelly I am wrong and is your NOA
keep posting! Good luck 🤗The fingerprint mailing should come after the NOA. So I'm hopeful this is finally the NOA. I really need the extension, card expires next month.
Fingers crossed!

I am a U.S. citizen now!
My interview was on March 1st. The process was fairly simple, the officer that did my interview was professional (Polite but not friendly). It didn't take more than 30 minutes. Prolonged silent moments while she typed in her computer. Civid and writing test were easy and also some basic questions about how I arrived to the U.S.? Who petitioned for me? Do I share the mortgage with my husband? Then after a while she said she is going to petition for my application to be approved. The Oath Ceremony was scheduled to take place the same day an hour later so I stayed.
It has been a rollercoaster 🎢 with USCIS but I'm glad it is all over.
Now I have to get an updated SS card and a new Passport.
Hopefully everyone's journey will end soon with happy news!
