Sometimes it is sent automatically, other times, you have to request it! Are you receiving any benefits from it, if yes then request it from Vermont! Are you using an attorney? Then they can get it done for you!

No no benefits and I don't have an attorney..  How do you go about asking for it..  Will it be a big issue if I don't have it?  I have my work authorisation..

  2. Good day everyone..  Hope all Is well..  I have a question.  I want to apply for advance parole and wanted to know what the procedure is..  Is it free..  How long it takes.. How to apply for one that allows me to travel at any time (not just for a one time use) Because I don't know what specific date I'll be able to go to see her .. My grandmother just had stroke today she's very old IDK if she'll live or if she dies I want to be able to attend the funeral (I'm praying she push through this as I hold bk tears)  but I just want to know that either situations I want to go see her..  I'm still waiting on my vawa to be approved..  But got my work permit but haven't gotten lucky finding work yet....  Any information would be greatly appreciated..  P. S congrats to all the ones who got vawa approved..

  3. Goodnight all. Question has anyone worked with just their ead who didn't have their ssn.. And also how long until your ss card comes in the mail after you've received your ead..  I checked on my i756 that i wanted them to share my information with social security so that i can get it. I was thinking it would have been printed on the ead or came at the same time ..

Wow congrats dear! Welcome to the good life! Lots of blessing on this new journey!😊

I haven't checked the mailbox yet but thank you .Lord knows I've shed tears and had sleepless night and stressed everyone out around me.. Lol..  I owe them all a bottle of wine for putting up with my emotional depressed behaviour.. This is definitely the toughest battle I've had to fight my adult life coupled with the abuse and everything that followed there after

I just received a notification with the tracking number. I think the cards come from the distribution center in Kansas City, MO. So as per the the tracking info, it’s still in MO. The card goes to my lawyer, so I will let you know when it reaches my lawyers office.

Same information for me  today as well.. And i got the tracking number and put it in the usps and checked the box for updates to be sent to me and it was saying the same in kansas when i first checked. And i got the email from usps that its in my mail box a few mins ago.. You should check the box on usps to get updates on when your lawyer gets it.. Im excited.

  6.  Finally.. The long wait is over.. Sadly the login uscis account isnt showing this update but when i went directly to their website and put in my receipt number this popped up.. Why have an account to check the status if they're not updating it respectfully?  This is my very first ead filed in November after i realized that the category my former attorney filed (c31) meant i would have only gotten it once my vawa was approved. The received date was november 23 2018

@Islanderk, Hi. When I experienced delay with my own EAD (same thing happened, associate attorney first filed under C31, and then a month later, the attorney refiled under C09 late October), in mid March of this year, last month, I emailed USCIS directly through my USCIS account to inquire why it was taking so long, and 2 weeks later my case status changed to card being produced, and 3 days later, approval letter went out and card went out a day after that, I received card in hand last week. So, I would suggest you try contacting them directly, they seem to respond faster that way, at least in my case they did. Good luck.

    Thank you I'll try this

  8. Hello all is anyone here still waiting on their first ead? My vawa was filed may 23rd my attorney filed under c31 i got my pf in August. I started my process using Catholic charities and shortly after that the attorney resigned Catholic charities. when i realized that i wouldn't get my work permit until my vawa was approved i filed under c09 November 22 2018 and got my receipt and it stated that they'd use my old biometric. March 13 i sought help from my congressman but no update from the congressman or uscis.. Is there anything i can do to get my work permit.. I really need to work

How can I get a congressman to inquire about an RFE the "Post Office couldn't deliver" ?

After sending them 3 letter asking to send again, they haven't. It's been almost 3 months and I know RFE's are time sensitive.

Make sure your name is in or on the mailbox.. I had a issue like that.. I called uscis and they explained that the mail man/woman didn't deliver it because they weren't sure i lived there as my name wasn't on/in the mailbox. So i placed my name in the mailbox and he delivered it..

I often check the USCIS case processing time online for VAWA. I checked yesterday that the Receipt date for a case inquiry was 2017 June 18  but today I noticed it’s 2017 June 9th. Can anybody explain this ?

I just checked today and noticed that they pushed all the dates back but still showing in months how long it should take.. Its not adding up to me.. I haven't gotten my first work permit yet i filed back in November.. I went online to check the processing time to do a case inquiry because i checked everyday patiently waiting.. Then boom the case processing time went from november to October.. Felt like a slap in the face.. I still tried a case inquiry and it said my case is still within processing time so they won't do one for me.. Man this is getting very depressing.. I mean all i want is to work.. Anyone know why they're doing this..i know on the website it said they can change the data at anytime without reason but i just thing given the circumstances of vawa cases it should be handled a bit more delicately.

You son is a US citizen, and it appears that USCIS agrees. However, all US citizens is required to use US passport to enter the US. You son entered on a foreign passport. You need to go to that appointment and bring the same proof that you applied the N600 with. If the father can go with, that's probably best. It's not the end of the world, but it needs to fixed somehow.

What you should have done, prior to bringing him to the US, was to take him to the US Embassy with all the documents proving him is a US citizen. They would issue a US passport then

Ok... Thank you for the shared information.. I didn't know it was another option ..i though he needed his n 600 to get his passport.. The application is in my husband's name on behalf of my son.. So he the one uscis asked to come in to pick up the certificate.. As for the passport my husband and i were going through the divorce hence why we came back to the USA. He's the U.S. citizen not me.. The divorce was denied in all the courts we filed so we decided to make it work late summer of last year.. During the process of divorce proceedings we had no form of contact outside of court happenings and as we all know divorce is extremely messy and cut throat.. Sadly my son got caught in the cross fire (getting his passport was the last thing thought about). but happily he made it right and applied for his n 600.. Hopefully all goes well and they hand him the babies certificate..thank you for the insight..

Well, this is a mess. It appears that your son entered the country on the visa waiver program, which is the incorrect way of doing it. Where does the letter say that you have to bring the documents to? Does it give you an appointment?

Yes april 19th.. Can you Explain why you said "incorrect way of doing it" please..

  13. Good morning all.. My husband applied for our sons n 600 months back. My husband is a U.S. citizen by birth, lived in the USA all his life.. Hes a veteran. A little back story. I gave birth in my home country, at that time my husband and i were estranged so he did not notified the U.S. embassy of his birth abroad... I got my son his passport from my home country and we came back to the USA.. Because of the relationship between my home country and the USA a b1/b2 (or any) visa is not required to travel back and forth via airplane, all he (anyone) needed was a passport and a police certificate. When we go through we do have to deal with custom and immigration. So it's documented that we are here. I have my b1/b2 visa (it is only needed when going on cruises)  fast forward we amended our relationship, Yesterday we got in the mail a letter stating that the n600 "application has been granted." The letter goes as followed

" you must bring with you your child's permanent resident card, form i-551, prior to certificate issuance. If your child's permanent resident card , form i-551 , was surrendered with a U.S. passport application, please bring your childs passport with you.. My issue here is the child has neither one of those things.. Will they not give him his certificate of citizenship? We submitted all documents to prove that he's the father.. If this helps my son has been living in the USA from. September 2017..

  14. Has anyone here have any experience with newport news social services? I applied for Medicaid and food stamps and i had my phone interview just now and the lady denied my medicaid and said it was because i wasn't a U.S. citizen. But will let me know if i get approved for snap.. Im confused because i thought we would get approved base on prima facie?

  15. Hello all Has anyone successfully gotten their ead expedited.. My attorney, At the time when he applied for my vawa placed it under c31 in May 2018. Back in November i sent in the application to place it under c9 and I got a receipt saying that they received it.  Im in dire need to work to get my life back on track. I have no means of income and its a very depressing state..
