Australia's humanitarian action has absolutely NOTHING to do with drones. Not a thing. Why is that so hard to understand?

I believe the OP was quite clear that many children are being blown to bits by terrorists. Focus! Yes drone strikes that kill children and other innocent people are a tragedy but you're trying to make a point not really related to the topic at hand.

I'm sorry you think I am happy anyone's dying, but in the real world sometimes bad guys should die. I realize that definitions of the bad guys are generally a function of which side you're on.
There are some pretty bad Muslims out there and they are killing other Muslims. No small number of those Muslims getting killed deserve help and or assylum. I don't pity the bad who earn a drone strike. But perhaps you have failed to notice?

Im glad you are joining this women's group. Your safety is number one priority.They probably document your sessions there so you have some kind of proof should you need it down the road. Abuse is abuse whether physical or verbal. It is seldom that the abuser will admit to what he is doing and seek help. Don't worry about him, focus on yourself and self preservation. Sounds like you are going in the right direction!
Another thing is, he doesn't care what you gave up. His goal is to demean and isolate you from your friends and family so he has the upper hand. Classic control freak.

I'd like to expand on what you said Maven without coming from a judgemental place. I have a British aunt who is 35 that our family just found out about maybe 5 years ago? She was a secret and given up for adoption, so while it might not have been super popular among adult married women, it certainly did happen when they went on an extended trip to "visit a relative." Mind you, this was probably a little before your time, but it is a counterexample.
Being that I made a different choice than you - 21, in the process of a divorce, and still in uni, I'm wondering why we made different choices? I've had several miscarriages as well that had they been successful, I would have carried to term even when I was pro-choice and perfectly fine with abortion as a concept.
I try to see things from the viewpoint of others, but I have real trouble with this issue because I've been in those shoes and the choice was so clear. Maybe you can help me understand.

I saw a bumper sticker on a car parked at our local catholic church on a sunday not long ago. It said it well. CHOOSE LIFE. By saying 'choose' it recognizes the right of the individual to have a choice! It exhorts readers of their rear bumper to make that voluntary choice in favor of life! Perfect! It does not say "Coerce continuing pregnancies" as the so-called 'pro-life' crowd stridently advocates for. Why can't catholics get behind this simple concept that in the USA we have freedom of the individual to make their own moral decisions and the farthest they may legally go in opposing abortion is to try to use their individual powers of persuasion to talk people out of it that are willing to listen. That, and like nola says, work to make it easier for women in difficult circumstances to have support medically, socially, and financially to be able to choose life.

I hear what you are saying though you must admit..... when a death occurs in an effort to save life it is not so dirty as when a death occurs when you are trying to snuff one out.

Even when they do suggest it(which happens rarely) they also say two other things...that in return Israel will get a long term "houdna", they stress that it will not be a peace agreement as they will never recognize Israel but rather a ceasefire(no thanks). The second thing is that they will not give up any part of the right of return which they know means the end of Israel.

The issue wasn't whether Likud says the same things or not, it was what does Hamas actually say. Do they say they want peace and want only a state on the 1967 borders in return for ending the conflict, which is what you implied, or do they say otherwise. Nor do they talk about compensation for the refugees like you, but as a right that they will NEVER abandon.
Btw, the current likud platform for these elections, especially after Netanyahu's Bar Ilan speech, does include an acknowledgement of a Palestinian state in the west bank. It might not include Jerusalem, they might not even actually mean what it does say, but at least it says it. Hamas' charter does not. Neither did any Hamas leader have a speech such as Netanyahu's Bar Ilan speech(again, we're talking rhetoric and not if he will actually stand behind it or not).
