Congratulations! When did you file? And when was your biometric date? Mine is about 49 days since the biometric date and still havent heard anything yet. My i-485 is still "Fingerprint fee was received".

Yeah I believe it took almost 90 days for me as well, but not quite. We got NoA1 on November 10 I believe? Then NoA2 at the end of January, so almost!

Reasons that I think delayed it:

    1) Some internal stuff, because I guess the Obama admin wanted to make sure a lot of things got done before Trump admin makes big changes on immigration (this is the conspiracy reason lol)

    2) Just the amount of holidays that were between November and January.

    3) The overwhelming amount of filers because they were trying to avoid the increase in fees.

Good luck with your petition! Feel free to ask us if you have any questions.

I was K1 November filer 2016. And yes, sounds like the process runs very slowly after October. I think the biggest reason was the gorverment changed the fee, more $200 at the end of the year, so lots of people tried to send the packet before it. And the second, people are afraid of Trump will have some ideas about immigrant and it will effect them, so they filed the file before he became a president. And I guess the third, K1 seems pretty easy, the processing time is still shorter than spouse visa, and people want to reunite with there beloves one quickly. I think thats why lots of people choose K1.

    Just my opinion

It has been a while again since I was here the last time. Congratulations to all those newly-issued visas and a lot of energy to those still waiting.
Meanwhile, I have arrived safely at my new home, and currently, we are busy with last minute wedding preps. Being her permanently hasn't fully sunk in yet though, and when I wake up, I usually still frantically try to calculate how many days I have left as I used to do when I was visiting. Having no return date makes the time together so much more relaxing.
Good luck to everybody! And again, thank you all for having helped me "survive" the agonizing half year leading up to my moving here. I am finally home.

The packet should be on carry on bag. When you enter the port of entry in the US you have to go through the custom first and give them the sealed packet before you take your luggages...

Please follow these step on my website, unfortunately it doesnt have english verison yet, but you can send it to your fiance, she can do it by herself.
You need to send the inquiry email to the Us consular first to get the instruction letter via email, they respond very quickly, after you receive the instruction letter, now you can start filling out ds160 and you have to pay for the fee before looking up the schedule

Yes you can, but you need to know lots of information about her in ds160 form, and the Us consular suggest the beneficiary should click the "submit" button, it's the electronic signature, because she will be the person who has responsibility for all the informations were written in the form.

No you can't. You have to wait 7 days for NVC to send your case to the US consular then check your case stt, if it is said "ready":
1/ Send an inquiry email to the US consular, ask them to send you an intruction letter via email. Print that letter because you will need it for the interview and medical exam.
    https://vn.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/immigrant-visa-inquiry-form/

2/ Your fiance needs to fill out the ds160 online form, submit the form and print the first page.

3/ She needs to send her visa application : ds160 first page; 2 pp style photos with her full name, dob, and her singature at the back of the photos; photo of her passport. Send them to US consular.

4/ Creat an account to pay for the visa fee at: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/vn/

6/ Follow their instruction and after you go to the HSBC bank or VN post office to pay for the fee. COme back to her account after 11am of the next day, she will be able to look up the schedule.

6/ After booking the schedule appointment, she can book the immuzination exam and medical exam.
