  1. We're now in the same boat, although for us it's only been 9 days so not nearly as long as you. But we contacted our senator and she said the officer said "that recently it has been around 7-10 business days to receive the physical card but due to high volume they are experiencing now it could take up to 30 days."

Unbelievable!! Does anyone know if we can leave the country with our NOA for our i-131 and not the card? I'm not sure we can wait 30 days for the actual card to come.

Do NOT leave the country without your card in your hand. You may have serious trouble coming back.
  2. Alright people...I'm seriously ready to go home and not come back.

Got back from vacqtion and called the USCIS this morning only to get an incompetent person on the phone that annoyed the ####### out of me as soon as he answered the phone (at this point I believe they are trained to be incomprehensible and have a low voice, so if you misunderstand something and call back the next time, it'll be on you!)

Anyway, after listening to his bs he did eventually transfer my call to a tier 2.

This officer was very nice (probably 100 years old, but nice). He told me that the hold up on my card production was due to the amount of applications (yeah right) and I should not look or compare my case to others that have already received their cards....true, but pffff..who doesn't!!? Also he told me to call back in a week or two if I haven't received the card by then (that's what I've been told last time as well).

When it comes to my I-485...this case has been transfered to my NBC center on Aug. 18th. He did mention an interview, but whether he saw that on the screen or just assumed I'd be scheduled for one, I don't know.

Well, at least I got a little more information this time. Though it doesn't really help or put me at ease. Especially when I see new people chatting in the forum because everybody I know is already gone and don't have to be bothered with this sh*** for the next two years. meeehhhhh

Ha! I'll be back too whining and bit*** about the same ridiculous stuff again. :ranting:

  3. @murple87

I did another SR this morning and of course did not receive a confirmation email (just like the first time). They approved my EAD & AP the same day I did my SR, so we'll see what happens this time.

I was going to call this morning, but since I'm out of town at the moment I decided to do the SR online and not ruin my vacation with their incompetence

Also, scheduling an Info Pass in New York City is impossible! (I live in Brooklyn) I tried to do it for a few days now but keep getting the same msg - currently no appointments available.

So, I'm saying 'whatever' now, but I'm passed as hell.

Ugh...I meant 'pissed as hell' and substitute  with

  5. Thanks so much for your quick responses, Soley and Jordan&Dan. That's good advise.

I actually was just able to get a hold of a tier 2 officer and she told me that everything was fine with my case but apparently there is a lot of backlog on EAD production at the moment. She said I should expect that the EAD will be on its way within the next 2 weeks.

That's still a while (I was originally supposed to start this week and given my approval NOA of Sept 8 thought I had a good chance of making that happen -- but I guess that was over-optimistic) but it's good to at least know that there wasn't any major screw-up with my case.

I also made an infopass appointment for a week from now (earliest appointment available). Good call, Jordan&Dan! I didn't even know of that possibility. I made the appointment in the DC field office, even though I'm based in Baltimore (b/c Baltimore didn't have any appointments available). I hope that's acceptable.

Still, it's so frustrating to see how most people who filed after me already have their EAD :( Very happy for them, but it's annoying to see how random this process can be at times. I think I was just very unlucky. Several of my notices got returned as undeliverable (at two different addresses) even though the address USCIS had on file in both cases was correct (still is a mystery to me - perhaps the postman is to blame?) -- and that delayed the process to begin with. (For reference, I filed May 31 and had my biometrics appointment August 3 and now EAD approved September 8 - AOS is still pending). So, I hope my status will change to EAD sent any day now.

In any case, this forum is a great resource and I appreciate everyone sharing their experiences and giving advise!!! I wish I had discovered it sooner...

I will give you an update once the EAD is on its way.

    Thanks again for your feedback!

You're definitely not alone. My EAD & AP were approved on 8/29 and that's the last thing I heard about it. Same thing here, people who were approved after me already got their EAD and I'm still waiting - very frustrating and extremely annoying :(

  6. Thanks!!! We are relieved. The IO specifically asked for our photo album, joint lease, joint bank account and utility bills. We showed him all those plus our joint vehicle insurances and mails addressed to each of us. He kept two photos from our album, all five months of our joint bank statements, vehicle insurances, and one month of each of our utility bills. I didn't realize he kept my I-94 until the interview over and I was in the elevator. He didn't keep my AOS-EAD card or any of my OPT-EAD cards.

My wife and I are 100% fluent in English. I think your spouse should be fine if he can understand and answer the questions on the AOS forms. If your case is complicated or you are separated at the interview, then you may need an interpreter.

Question about the I94. How can they keep it if it's electronically? Or is that not the case for everyone?
  7. First off, there is still absolutely no change to my case. I485 on 'fingerprint fee received' and EAD & AP on 'approved'. Can't do SR either because the 30 days have not passed yet. What the :ranting: !!

I won't bother to get in any more detail because they'd kick me right out of the forum for using such a foul language.

I will be calling USCIS in a few days and ask them what the :ranting: they think they're doing and definitely do another SR.

I do have a question about the infopass though:

Can I go to the appointment by myself or do I have to bring my husband?? Anything else I should know about it?

  8. You don't have to wait 90 days. You only have to wait 90 days if the RFIE was for the EAD.

You only need to wait 30 days extra if it was for the I485. So you should get it before day 120.

Maybe file another SR in a week or so. Or earlier if it was a bit ago.

    On another note.

Wondering how long it took for most of you, not you buzzz (sorry), to receive your EAD combo card after approval.

Pfff yeah...still no change on my end :ranting:

    Hope you get yours quicker!

  9. Called USCIS tonight, we should have received EAD and AP by now. Tier1 said they would put in a request and it will take 15 days to hear back. I was very courteous but expressed dissatisfaction that there are people who filed the same time as me, whom received EAD and AP, and also dissatisfied that some people who have filed at the start of June have not only received EAD and AP, but also received their green cards. I asked nicely to please let me speak with a Supervisor. The lady I spoke to transferred me over, it was 4:30pm, and the automated attendant told me someone will call me in 103 minutes (more or less) of course, no one called me.

I will call back in the morning and try again to get to tier 2.

Starting to feel frustrated now. My wife desperately wants to get a job. :(

I was so tempted to b*** when I called today too, but decided to be nice. I'm so curious to what they say. Definitely give an update once you talked to them!! I hope you get some good news.
  10. Have a little faith lol I've felt like you have before infiled start of April 11th I had the entire month of April and start of may filer surpassed me on the timeline which was super discouraging and I was always trailing me behind with everything from my NOA's to my biometric appointment and everything else... it's been hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel but last week I seen a glimmer of hope... I called cause day 159 rolled on by and I was still at "fingerprint fee recieved" only to find out my case got assigned to an officer and got marked as interview to be waived... granted it could still be a while til I recieve my approval but it's hope and a huge sigh of relief that everything is going to be okie!!! May I add my status still says "fingerprint fee recieved" Your time will come and I'm fairly confident the fact your still on fingerprint fee recieved you will probably get waived also... FYI the other 10 or so people on April filers who were stuck on fingerprint fee recieved all got waived also this past month and as always I'm the last 1 hanging in there waiting for my approval lol

Yeah, this sucks..especially when people that applied after you get approved before you :(

We'll see what happens. Cross my fingers that we don't have to wait much longer!

  11. The fact your still on fingerprint fee recieved shows a good indication your interview may indeed be waived... no updates on your i-485 isn't always a bad thing if your a k1... as teir 2 told me if you surpass the 4month mark and still on fingerprint fee recieved then there is an extremely good chance you will be waived

..with my luck...I don't believe it, but thanks for the motivation!
  12. This happened to us with our RFE. They told us we had to wait 30 days, but we knew something was wrong when it didn't arrive after 15 days. Calling USCIS and a SR didn't help at all. I would reach out to your congressman and schedule an InfoPass meeting. We did both and got copies of RFE within 2 days (before the 30 day mark). I'm SO glad we did this, because we eventually found out that our case worker never mailed our RFE. Had we not reached out, we'd probably still be waiting.

I know it's probably different for the combo card than RFEs, but if your situation is anything like ours, then don't wait the full 30 days! Although I'm a little paranoid at this point... :)

    Thank you!

I really don't know what's going on. My status update never changed either..so it's not like I got a confirmation that the card is being produced or mailed.

Either way I will have to wait. I'm leaving town in a couple of days and won't be back until 10/6. It's just sooooo frustrating and my I485 is still on fingerprint fee received.

The way it's going right now I bet it'll take them close to a year to process my application and after that I will have to wait another 3 months for the interview appointment. Ridiculous!!!

  13. Sorry, for replying so late. Wasn't it 30 days? And I think Service Request are more about when you think something is not right.

Which I think definitely seems to be the case with you. Worst case scenario they'll say that it's within the normal processing time.

Yes, you're right. I called them today and the 30 days were confirmed. I should receive the card 'any day' now (pffff....yeah right!). In order for me to do a SR I have to wait since I'm still on the regular processing time.

I seriously feel like I am the only one here this happened to. I am so annoyed!!!

  14. still no update on our case status, still no tracking number. myusps still says no packages are headed out to you. BUT!

this morning i went and got the mail and got 2 envelopes coming from lees summit! 1 was the response to the service request. wooptidoo right. the other one was a priority envelope, so I ran home, opened it aaaaand IT HAD MY EAD AP COMBO CARD IN IT!!! WOOP WOOP we are going to belgium!!

Awesome, congrats!!! Happy someone can leave this country :) maybe I should join you. I'll stay at my friends house...the American dream turns into a American nightmare
  15. I just received a text message and an email that my wife's card is in production... Now someone tell me what to expect in terms of time line.... Will I receive a receipt in the mail and then a receipt that the card has been mailed or how does this work.... Or it just appears?? Lol I wish

Ok... now you wait for about 3 weeks and wonder every day what could have happened and why you still haven't received it....you can come back here and b*** about it.... because we know how you feel. Once the 3 weeks pass.... you wait just a little longer for absolutely NOTHING to happen! Got it!?? :girlwerewolf2xn:

...I'm kidding, I can't answer this question but I do wish you the best of luck and hope you don't have to wait that long :)

  16. Hey Buzzzzzzzzzzzz.....I know you're frustrated but have to tell you, you just crack me up non stop which has been a welcome relief from my normal thoughts of: why do they hate me and other nutty things that happen when you are in a waiting pattern :P

    I'm glad you're having a ball! :goofy:

Though, I am really holding back. I don't want to be the one banned from here just because I can't hold my tounge

I've been following this site for quite some time now, reading a lot of frustrated posts...still, everyone is so polite and nice! Seriously, if only I had that :ranting: EAD in my hand I'd be a milionare by now selling my new dictionary - you'd be surprised how many new words I came up with (especially when you look under the definition of USCIS)!! :diablo:

Ugh, that is is ridiculous. How frustrating. You should definitely vent, that is what we're here for. Grrrr. I'm so peeved for you.

Have you signed your address up for the MyUSPS service? At least then you might be able to see if something is on its way to you as the package would be tracked on that system. Perhaps you already have or don't want to, but I thought I'd offer the suggestion to be constructive!

(note, the website asks to verify your identity, presumably using a credit file. I have no real credit file here yet presumably because my credit card companies haven't reported my credit cards to the credit reference agencies yet. As such, when I typed in my identity it came up with a load of irrelevant questions about financial products from years ago that I had never taken out. Instead, I got my wife to sign up and she just answered the questions herself... we log in on her account to check for incoming tracked mail, and we also signed up for text message/email alerts just so we don't have to check every day (but of course, I still do... cos paranoid).

Keep us updated :) Good thoughts in your (plural) direction! I wish I could just go for you to save you the trip haha! Luckily, there are a few options for you in this situation :) To absolutely slaughter an overused phrase in my home country: Keep calm... and (pack your) carry-on.

Thanks Simon! ...and yes, I have signed up for everything you can possibly find online. I also get a lot of messages from USPS, but all of it is from Amazon!

Somebody will get a serious bill by the time this journey ends.

  17. i really understand your frustration! it just makes you so worried about if they forgot about you! my card has been stuck on "card was mailed to me" for 2 or 3 days now but myusps still says no packages are on the way to me. a lot of other cases have an update with "card was picked up by the post office" but again, mine doesn't have that. it just makes me wonder if they dropped my envelope wity my card next to the box that goes to the post office or something!

have you tried calling them? if i don't get any updates today or nothing in the mail I am calling them tomorrow cause this waiting game is getting old and I just want it to be over!

I called them not too long ago, maybe a week or so and they told me it could take up to 2 weeks to produce the card. It's just funny that others get theirs within a week after approval. I'm moreso annoyed with myself that I let this get to me so much. Not like I have a job waiting for me. Besides I'm going on vacation next week.

The thing that frustrates me the most is that they are so inconsistent with what they're doing. Some of us have to wait forever (sometimes for no apparent reason) when others get approved almost instantly. Now don't get me wrong. I am happy for EVERYONE getting their papers, possibly sooner than later. The wait just sucks especially when you know they already approved half of your case, but don't seem to be able to finish what they started!
