  1. Yes. It is normal to have complete silence until the time you qualify for citizenship. In our extreme case, our I-751 took 44 months for approval (4 months after wife submitted her N-400). ***Moved from the IR-1/CR-1 forum to the Removing Conditions on Residency forum area***
  2. Thanks. Nothing speaks louder than personal experience.
  3. I remember you very well. I am happy to see that you are navigating that tough road strongly (I lost a spouse 11 years ago). It really is a difficult journey. I am also happy to say that filing for US citizenship online is pretty easy. It really is the easiest USCIS process. Good luck.
  4. I agree with @OldUser, Just get on a plane and return.

  6. Seems Jack Smith has started the process to stop Trump prosecutions: Special counsel Jack Smith takes first step to halt Trump prosecution - POLITICO "“The Government respectfully requests that the Court vacate the remaining deadlines in the pretrial schedule to afford the Government time to assess this unprecedented circumstance and determine the appropriate course going forward consistent with Department of Justice policy,” they wrote."
  7. Something I find odd, but not really surprising: All the leftist Youtubers, who I trolled for the last several last weeks, are no longer to be found on Youtube.....at all. I stated "Trump is headed for a landslide win" on numerous channels. Today, I can't find them at all. They don't even show up in my viewing history.

  10. If he has a 10 year Green Card, he can just board a plane and return to the US. I think there is very low risk if he returns very soon.
  11. This is dems' worst nightmare. Trump has had 4 years to formulate a plan of action to get his plans on track....and it looks like he is going to have a friendly legislative branch to help. If MAGA screws this up, it will be the fault of no one else.
  12. I think this just a harbinger of things to come. I head a former Obama official say that he expects Trump to direct efforts toward: illegally present criminals Sanctuary cities Visa overstayers Foreign countries (specifically Mexico) I also think this would be a prime time for Congress to make reforms in the INA.
  13. Federal judge declares Biden immigration program for spouses of U.S. citizens illegal - CBS Miami
  14. Your joint sponsor MUST be domiciled in the US. I would find another joint sponsor and gather the required documentation before the interview.
  15. ***One political comment derailing the thread removed***
  16. That is not correct. There are no immigration checks when exiting the US for anyone.
  17. ***Comment and replies totally inapplicable to OP question removed****
  18. Completely aware. I obtained one from a foreign consulate.
  19. In some cases, marriage and Direct Consular Processing would be a pretty fast route, too.
  20. The OP stated "and we both live together in Brazil,". In Brazil, I know of no problems with a Utah online marriage.
  21. That is no longer a barrier. The Utah online marriage eliminates those hoops.
  22. Not applicable to the current, real world. I wouldn't start implying that K-1 journeys are that short now.
  23. Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation. K-1 More expensive than CR-1 Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork) Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 3-6 months) Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 3-6 months) Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed. A K-1 might be a better choice when 18-21 year old children are immigrating also In some situations, marriage can affect certain Home country benefits, making a K-1 a better choice A denied K-1 is sent back to USCIS to expire K-1 entrant cannot file for citizenship until after having Green Card for 3 years. Once an I-129F has been approved, delaying the case is difficult to impossible if the need arises. CR-1/IR-1 Less expensive than K-1 No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required. Spouse can immediately travel outside the US Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival. Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport. Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US. The clock for citizenship filing starts immediately upon entry to the US. A CR-1/IR-1 case can be delayed indefinitely at NVC if the need arises.
