  1. Yes. ***Moved to Adjustment of Status from K-1 & K-3 Visas forum***
  2. Yes. If an I-751 is pending, spouse should attend. The officer may or may not question both spouses.
  3. Here in Dallas, they wife's oath was about 6 weeks after interview. They gave her about 2 weeks' notice of oath date.
  4. My advice: File the N-400 . After waiting 40 months for my wife's I-751 to be processed, she filed her N-400. 4 months later, both the I-751 and N-400 were approved in our combo interview. I-751s are a low priority for USCIS.
  5. No, I am not getting a refund. I had to pay in extra to the IRS again this year......but I just adjusted the Federal tax withholding from my military pension which will let me avoid owing in the future.
  6. Depends on the local office. What is the status on "My USCIS" site?
  7. Are you still generously officiating marriages for free for VJ members?
  8. If she takes the oath, they will take her Green card. She will then need a US passport to exit and enter the US. Fortunately, emergency passports for imminent travel can be processed very quickly. Another option is to reschedule the oath ceremony if needed. ***Moved to Working and Traveling during US Immigration***
  9. Thanks for posting. The form states exactly what they want. Follow their directions and upload quality evidence that your relationship is bona fide. Then notify them that you have done so. If you don't do this within a year, they will deny the visa. Good luck.
  10. I'm surprised the clinic didn't start sputum testing or prophylactic treatment.
  11. Post marked before today, correct? Fee increased to $750 for I-751s (with biometrics) post marked today forward. Good luck! I hope the extension letter is issued soon. It's time for something good to happen.

  13. Can you post a copy of the form (after redacting personal info).
  14. It's free to file an I-129f after an I-130. Best case scenario is they close the I-129f, then immediately approve the I-130 to continue. Worst case scenario, in my opinion, is they actually issue a K-3. Who would want to have to adjust status? To my knowledge, only a very, very few K-3s are still issued.
  15. Yes. Once you enter the US with a valid immigrant visa, CBP will stamp (endorse) the visa. At that moment, you become a legal resident (Green Card holder). Your endorsed visa then becomes a temporary, Full Fledged Green card until the plastic one arrives (or 1 year). You can immediately return to home country to tie up loose ends before returning to the US. I would not tell CBP that is your plan...but it is perfectly legal to enter, then immediately exit the US.
  16. I think those are a very, very small fraction of I-130s as a whole as I don't think that technique works as well for shortening the I-130 processing times as it once did. But, for those who are successful at that technique, it makes the CR-1 even faster than the average....by months.
  17. VJ data is calculated using information entered into member timelines. Error prone only if users enter the wrong dates...which I would find odd. However, sample size could come into play one way or another. I guess VJ timelines based on consulate might be helpful. Maybe I should ask Capt Ewok which dates he uses for the overall average calculations.
