Interview was on the 16th of Jan, they have scheduled me for oath ceremony on the 31st of this month itself! Guess this is it then. Pretty quick for New Orleans office. It took four months start to finish. Wait time at the onset was 11 months.

My ROC was transferred to the local office alongside with the N-400 application (without USCIS sending me a notice). I had my naturalization interview last week (ROC pending). I went to the interview hoping they might address both cases. The interview notice did not say anything about bringing my spouse along, but I was feeling hopeful based on all the comments on this forum. When I was called in for the interview, my spouse also stood up just to show that he was there with me, I handed him my coat and he sat down as I walked to the door. As soon as I reached the officer, they asked me if that person was my spouse, and if I could ask him to stay and wait for a while, so he could attend the second part of the interview. Perfect! 
 
Combo interview was a success, and both of my cases were approved. Today, I received a notice by mail on my ROC approval. They will not send me a new green card since I’m already in line for the oath ceremony. My journey is coming close to an end, which feels surreal after all these years of paperwork and gathering documents. Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone else still waiting on their approvals!

Finally I received an email from USCIS saying they have processed the Graan Card, so may be there is an end in sight. Though there is no such update on the online account I have.

Has my combo interview this AM. Was approved!

It appears the congressional inquiry worked... I just received a phone call from USCIS to schedule an appointment. I have my I-751 and N-400 Interview TOMORROW morning @ 9am.!!!

Looks like the immigration gods smiled on me today. Got a notification that new card is being produced! I think my case serves as an example that it isn’t always as plain sailing as some people expect. I’m glad I’m overly prepared for all eventualities and kept as much evidence as possible throughout. 

I was never asked to send in my expired card! 

Its something new, USCIS didn't asked me to submit the expired card. I had recently finished bimetrics and stamping on my passport!!

My dependent son never received his NOA1 or am extension letter so we had to go to local office to get a 551 stamp put into his passport. The took his expired card that day. My wife was never asked to return hers, but we are trying a Biometrics walk in tomorrow so we will report back if they are asking for it back as well.

Also, was anyone asked to surrender their expired conditional card to the USCIS? I was asked to mail it back. Wondering if this is something new they've started doing. I didn't think this was routine earlier. Thanks.

I had to travel internationally in the months of July and August, so I called the Uscis and spoke to level 2 officer and she made an info pass request on my behalf. I had already booked my tickets and since I wasn't going to be in the country to get my passport stamped in July, they stamped my passport in June itself. I did have to carry the tickets for proof, by the way. But I think this was becuase I was requesting a stamp in June instead of July as the norm is. So, in your since the extension has already expired, I don't think they'd require you to submit any proofs.

I am new here. Did apply in the month of Jan., 2018. Received an extension letter for eighteen months, which expired in August hence got an extension stamp on the passport which expires in March 2020. 
 
So, due to some goof up at USCIS, they reopened our case after I pointed it out to them. They had already sent our cheque back stating that my ROC request was not valid because according to them my marriage was already two years old when I entered US, which meant that they wanted to correct their mistake by now requesting me to fill form I-90 instead! This was based on wrong info as my marriage was not two years old when I entered the US. Anyhow, to cut the long story short, in trying to correct a mistake that wasn't there in the first place, they've basically taken over 20 months to give me an answer. Sometimes, I wonder why did I even bother to correct them!
 
Now when I wrote to them asking why is my case out of normal proceeding time, I got a letter saying that "security check is pending". I am not sure as to what this means. If anyone could throw a light on this, please?

A word of advice to all... When you land in the US do visit your local ssn field office to check the status of your ssn application if you had opted for in ds 260. Don't wait for it as you wait for the plastic green card. I realised when I went to ssn office after three weeks that they didn't have any ssn application pending from me and this is when I had opted for it. I filled in a new ssn application form there. After this it takes two days to get the ssn assigned meaning now you can get your number and get going with the things you immediately need the ssn for. And within two weeks the actual card will arrive in mail.
The plastic green card comes when it comes. Will enquirer with uscis field office here if don't get it in 60 days. Apparently 60 days is what you wait before making a complaint.

Omg! I so hope you get good news in the first week of Jan. This is insane.

i am still waiting for my interview to be scheduled.. my case is complete with NVC...
how much time it will take to scheduled an interview ????
