On the following section did you initially select "Yes"
If so, do the following:
- Go to the above referenced section.
- Select "Yes" and then next button.
- Press all of the blue "delete" buttons and then back button.
- Select "No" and then next button.
I didnt select “Yes” since I have never left Guam. I will try to do it again 😊

But when exactly did you become a resident? When did you get your Green Card?

I came to Guam with my son on January 12, 2016, got married to a fiancee a few days later. We never travelled outside Guam. Now, I am trying to apply for US Citizenship online, it says that I may not meet the physical requirement. I dont know if I should continue filing my application online or should I just do paper filing?
Anybody here encountered anything like this?
-
I have been trying to file online, and when I was uploading documents, either it will only capture the first page or it wont upload at all. I am using Google Chrome. Now, I just decided to file paper and send it via USPS. Then after I printed all documents needed, I saw a thread saying to use Internet Explorer. 😖
Anybody have a problem uploading documents?

Definitely call selective service to ensure he wasn't already registered.
Similar situation happened to my husband. He was registered before being issued ssn and status check on the website came back negative. Only after calling we were able to confirm he was actually registered at 19 years old.
Hi, my son called and found out the reason why he cant find his name on the SSS website: His social security number is missing. He was registered Sept 2016. They updated his info ans now we can find his registration online.
Thank you so much, guys! I have been getting mad at my boy since yesterday because I got too worried.

Witha K the very first thing you get is a SSN.
It is his responsibility to ensure he registered.
I understand where you are coming from. We know it is his responsibility to ensure he is registered. But just like what Mike E said, “There was no willful attempt to evade the military draft. ”
I read this from SSS website:“Driver’s License: There are two forms of DLL, optional and automatic. States with optional DLL allow men 18-25 to opt in or out of having their information transferred to Selective Service for registration by checking a box when applying for a state learner’s permit, driver’s license or renewal, or I.D. card. States with automatic DLL process a man’s application for a state learner’s permit, driver’s license or renewal, or I.D. card as consent to have his information automatically transferred to Selective Service for registration if he is between the ages of 18-25.”
Guam DL application form has a portion where you can choose to Opt-in or Opt-out for Selective Service Registration. He said he chose to Opt-In:
“Guam
Driver’s License: Yes, opt-in
Education & Government Employment: None
On May 3, 2004, Gov. Felix P. Camacho signed a law stipulating that men age 18 through age 25 in Guam may opt to be registered with the Selective Service System when they apply to obtain or renew a state driver’s license. This law became effective on September 1, 2004. The start date was December 9, 2004, when Selective Service began receiving electronic data transmissions.“
Shouldn’t his information be transferred to SsS then? He assumed he is registered when he opted in. His only failure is to check it with SSS.
He will be calling SSS to check.

Normally adult male immigrants under age 26 are automatically registered. I know the I-485 form has stated that for some time now and it would have when your son was age 21.
i don’t know about a DS-260 though.
How did your son immigrate: I-485 or DS-260?
K2 visa. We did i-485 after.

Yup. The "Guide for New Immigrants (M-617)" that USCIS sends with the GC lists the SSS requirement very clearly in the Responsibilities section. DOS also provides Form DS-1810, "Notice of Duty to Register with US Selective Service System." And Guam also asks if male DL/ID applicants want to register with SSS: https://www.sss.gov/register/state-commonwealth-legislation/
Hi, I asked my son if he did choose the consent to register with SSS when he was applying for his driver’s license here in Guam.. he said Yes and he thought he will be automatically registered. I asked him to call the selective services tomorrow to check.

How old was your son when he immigrated to the US? Did he apply for AOS? If he applied for AOS, he might already have registered with selective service.
Your son can verify to see if he has already registered with selective service. https://www.sss.gov/verify/He came here in Guam when he was almost 21 years old. We just checked the website and sure enough he’s not registered.

My son just turned 26 years old and will soon file for the N400. While I am filling up the N400 form for myself, i read about “registering for selective services”. Has anybody encountered any problem applying for the US citizenship without registering for the selective services?
Thank you in advance for your replies.

My parents have Visitor’s visa (10-years), I plan to petition them once my US Citizenship is approved. Question: let’s say I am eligible to petition my parents and have already filed for their i-130, can they still travel to the US while their i-130 is pending?
Thank you in advance for your replies.

I am kinda worried.. if I do biometrics, they will be asking me to bring passport/state id/drivers license and green card, right? The problem is since I dont drive, I dont have a driver’s license. State ID? I tried applying for one but they denied me (I live in Guam) because my passport is under my maiden name - I even showed my marriage cert (what is the point of me updating my passport if I am going to apply for US Citizenship anyway and we dont have any plans to travel yet). So, in short, I only have my 10-year green card as my iD. Will they still let me do biometrics?
Thank you in advance for your reply.

Did you send two different applications for ROC for your son and yourself? or was he included in your own applications? The reason I am asking is because I included my three kids in my application since we all received our GC the same day. Thank you!
We filed separately. For some reason we got too nervous and was clueless on what to do. He turned 21 years old 3 days after my wedding so we thought he aged out. We went to USCiS field office to ask for guidance. Long story short, I filed first then after a few weeks he filed his adjustment of status.

I just got a letter saying they have transferred my case to the Missouri office. Anyone else? So originally it was California, then Nebraska, now Missouri. Not sure why it keeps getting passed around, especially after 16 months.
This is almost like what happened to my son’s case:
1. He received a NOA coming from Lee Summit, Missouri saying he will be scheduled for an interview.
2. After a few days he received another NOA saying his case is transferred from CSC to Nebraska.
THEN a few days later, the status said “New Card is Being Produced”
Im not sure what is going on but I hope everybody receives some good news soon.
Hang in there!

I just found out there was another update last night. My case has been transferred to another office which now has jurisdiction over it. I’m confused at the moment. But I’m praying for better outcome
Did you receive a NOA yet? I hope your case ends up like my son’s who got 2 confusing updates (1. scheduled for an interview 2. transferred to another office) and then got approved after a few days. I pray that you get approved very soon. I know how frustrating it is to wait for a very long time. Hang in there!

I was transferred from Vermont to Potomac May 10th
I’m praying for such a miracle!!!!! 🥺
I got approved first (i-751, April filer) then a few days after my approval, my boy got approved.
We prepared the docs needed for his interview then when he received the notice saying his case was transferred from California Service Center to Nebraska we were confused. Thank God he got approved instead.

I just got an update about a possible interview. I honestly don’t know how to begin processing it because that was not what I expected. 🤧
My son is a June 2018 filer, got the same update then after a few days it says it was transferred to nebraska. 3 weeks later the update says his card is being produced.

Did you have joint bank accounts or assets together for proof of marriage?
I submitted joint bank accounts, Macys credit card statements, water bill and insurance. The main document they were asking for my RFE is mortgage/lease contract or a will - we dont have that as we are staying in my husband’s family home. We just sent them an explanation letter why we cant provide that document - plus lots of photos.
Send them what you have.

Hi, we have never left the island since we came here. I made sure that I chose “No” to the question, but I guess I have to do it again just to make sure.
