  1. Thanks everyone for your answers! I used the green page, as directed to by the website, and was taken straight to the booking option once I had paid. The 22nd June was the first available date which has definitely thrown a spanner in the works for me in terms of wedding plans but I'm glad it's not later.

Thanks for letting me know, I guess they are filling up June interviews. Multiple spanners in the works here too. Still waiting for my case to reach London.

  2. You're lucky, appointments here are booked until early June.

That's crazy... our interviews are booked out until the end of June, I'm waiting to be able to book it as otherwise we will be moving much later than our anticipated date. I had hoped that we might be able to move on the 13th of July, but worst case I think it'll be the 20th. It depends on lots of different things. But I'm very happy my medical is booked.

  3. How old is your daughter? I wouldn't worry about the school files being transferred. My daughter's school in Florida had no idea how to interpret all the files (copies) and reports we brought over and we had to sort out a mess where they first assigned her to the wrong grade. The administrators were completely confused by the terminology in the school files and reports and essentially, disregarded them entirely. Have you contacted the new school in advance to see what they need? It can be pretty stressful trying to transition kids into a new country and new school system. On the up side, they actually cope much better than we expect :) Here's hoping your timeline works out favorably for you, but try not to get too hooked up on dates and self imposed deadlines We started out doing that and it almost always ended in frustration, stress and disappointment.

I sincerely wish you and your daughter the very best. You will survive, even though there are moments it doesn't feel like it :)

She's 8. I just want her to be there to start school at the same time as all the other kids. I'm sure we will be fine, I am just overwhelmed with the lack of structure in everything and having to do an international move on basically 'little notice' as such. People have done it before, I'm sure it it'll be fine. I'm just a planner and a lack of structure stresses me. I need to just accept that it is what it is and I shouldn't stress about what I can't change. Unfortunate I can't help it.

  4. the way i look at it is when you get your LND number the ball is then in your court, you can phone doctors get an appointment asap for medicals , submit readiness form and look to book you interview asap so long as you leave at least 7 days between medicals and interview. once you have interview and you get approved you should have visas/passports 2 weeks later, maybe 3. Bearing in mind your approved you get to immigrate get married start your new life with your fiance and new family. so it might be a bit of a rush/ stressfull at least your there you have your whole life ahead of yous as a family. enjoy. then start the new process of adjusting status in USA

Yep! I need to stop stressing about what I can't change. But unfortunately thats how I'm wired. Once I have everything booked etc I'll have an idea of whats going on and feel a bit more in control!

  5. Interviews have averaged 6-7 weeks from when you become eligible for one. I would think availability would still remain in that range whether they pick the date or you do.

The benefit of getting to pick your own--

    1) no more moaning about how long the letter is taking. Now the moaning can switch to how long LND number is taking. There will always be moaning.

    2) getting to choose day of the week that works better for you.

    3) getting to push the date out if you won't be available because of work, exams, a trip...

    4) being eligible sooner because you don't have to wait until your medical arrives at the embassy (??). Too soon to know on that I guess. Some people said it wouldn't let them into the system to pick. No clear reason why yet.

    Any more ideas of benefits?

Lots of pros, a few cons and I hate to complain. But I really want my daughter there before school starts 2nd week in August. A big move is more than enough stress as it is with out her going into melt down too. I'm a little bit overwhelmed now. But you know what I'm like by now, I stress over everything that hasn't even happened yet!

Currently filling out enrollment forms and getting my daughters school stuff in place.

  6. Have you spoken/ emailed your daughters future school, All schools seem to have different end/ start times. Ohio finish up first week June but there not due back till sept( new school building). My enrolling officer will book me in for an appointment first day they are back as i will not be there until at least end July/ August all going well. My school know we are intend on immigrating and new school will do paperwork for getting daughters records sent over( think its all electronic now so no real delay). Just make sure she has all necessary shots for school. it wont be long and before you know it youll be looking at flights to book at last.

I'm literally the state below you! They start the second week in August and my daughters school is being a nightmare about sending her paperwork. I am calling the school in a bit to find out if they can send it before she's enrolled. They told me I can't enroll her until we are there. Need proof of address from the mail office and have to take her vaccination records, her dental and medical and eye test info into the health department and have it put down there and pray they don't want us to re-do it all in the US. She's American so i just got her hep B done this year.

  7. Passport ready for pick up!!! Omg Thursday he will be here!!!! Prayers answered!!!

Prayers for you all to get what you need!! I'll still be around to help if I can even after he is here!!! So if I can help...

    Good luck this week!!!

Except that I am now short on time due to all my delays. Looks like a late June interview for me and the possibility that I won't be moving when I had hoped (July 13th). It's very likely that I'll now be moving much later in July. Just hope I can enroll my daughter in school ok.

So happy for you that he is coming so soon :)

  8. Same here need to get my daughter enrolled in school. Having myself a small pity party and cursing myself for not making my fiance type a longer explanation of how we met. Thanks to the RFE we are about a month behind.

  9. Yay, progress. Annoying that Knightsbridge need the LND number before they let you book...

More worried about the interview bit. Knightsbridge will be fine. Interview is cutting it thin. I need to get to the US to enroll my daughter for school. I think her school won't get her school files until September now as I won't be able to enroll her until her current school finish.
