  1. Thanks for your input. I have been waiting for the 90 day time period before inquiring about the K-3. I honestly haven't really been too concerned with the 1-130, seeing as the K-3 visa will be the one the most likely is granted first.

I am leaving to go to South Africa from November 16th through December 28th and am hoping to have an approval by that time. As each day passes, however, it seems less and less likely that is going to happen.

It appears that being proactive indeed helped your case AndyMisiu. I am glad to see you were able to get things together with the help of your local law-makers.

  2. Just wondering if it might be time for me to schedule some sort of appointment to talk to someone about my case, or if I should continue waiting it out. I realize it is not uncommon for these cases to take upwards of 6 months to get approved and if that is the case then that is ok too, but should I perhaps be a bit more proactive?

Has anyone who has had a meeting with infopass concerning their case actually found out anything useful or had any movement on the case as a result of this meeting?

Also what exactly does a memeber of congress do when they look into these cases and is that route worth taking?

  3. Did your attorney have any insight into whether or not your husband's heritage could be a factor?

The I-130 involves background and namechecks similar to what is performed during a stateside AOS.

It was alluded to you before that as your husband is a British National of Pakistani origin that he most likely would be subject to Administrative Review.

I wonder if your attorney is of the same opinion as some of our posters in that regard.

Could there be some sort of reason for the hold up in my case?

My wife is 29, of European decent and from South Africa.

  4. I agree -- I would be more then fine with waiting if it meant all those ahead of me got approved ! I just don't want to see those AFTER me get approved first :)

Unfortunately that seems to be the way of things for whatever reason. I can't imagine what it must be like to have a MARCH NOA 1 date and still no resolution. I really hope all those waiting before me get approved soon.

  5. Does anyone know what's going on with zimba, gemcote, S&S, and dhobee? I think I recall seeing posts recently from zimba and gemcote. I would LOVE to see something good happen for these folks.....SOON.

We need a lot more red lines than we've been getting lately. Semptember was a bit slow for most our K-3 family.

    COME ON RED!!!!!

I was wondering that too. Hopefully they simply haven't bothered to update us on the status of their petitions. as much as I would like to have my petition accepted, I would like for those waiting before me to have their petitions accepted first. Seems only fair.

  6. This poster has a history of posting run on sentences. Let me break down Hichamslove for you. Sorry if this sounds harsh but these are the facts. She.....

    1. Does not have a clear understanding of the process and has not bothered to read up on it, despite the numerous attempts to help her by various members of the forums, thus leading to the confusing posts.

    2. Seldom uses punctuation.

    3. Spams the same post across multiple forums in hopes of getting some sort of answer, even though she probably has no idea what the question is herself.

    4. Posts questions like "My friend wants to know if she should get divorced and file for K-1 since it is faster LOLOLOLOOL" When it is obvious she is the one asking it based on her total and complete lack of understanding of anything going on.

    5. Gets mad when people don't give her the answers she wants and proceeds to post a "Woe is me, I'm leaving the boards" post.

This pattern of behavior is as predictable as it is annoying and really contributes nothing to this forum.

I am going crazy over here. I got touched today! :D I wonder if I should tell my husband that somebody touched me... Well, I knew this was gonna be a good week!!!!!!!!!!

I just got off the internet with my husband  , he's gone to the mosque for prayer! Wait till he comes home! :P

I am just ready for the next phase!! APPROVAL!!!!!!!!!!!! BRING IT ON HOME!

Nice I hope I get touched soon. :)

  8. LOL...I thought it was a funny way to say "revert"..yeah I switched over to Islam. Like you switched telephone companies or something.

You switched religion when you got married? What do you mean? I thought you were Christian!?

Switching religious practices to please a spouse or create harmony at home isn't uncommon in the least, but usually indicates

    1. No strong faith in the previous religion to begin with

    2. A lack of capacity to formulate your own ideas and value system

    3. The lack of any sort of individual identity or happiness, thus allowing someone with whom you associate your happiness with to completely mold and manipulate you.
