    Hi All

My husband was approved for a Cr1 on December 20, 2017, last status update was on January 5, 2017 showing ISSUED. Its been over 30 days and he still doesn't have his passport. Has anyone ever experience this? Also does this mean they are still doing some type of background check? I have sent numerous email and no response

Have you checked from the DHL office?

Hello can anyone tell me about filing taxes when my husband is still in Ghana with no social security number. I know the irs require that if you are married you must file married filing jointly or separate has anyone done file there spouse on taxes if so what was the procedure I research I must apply for ITIN for my husband through irs.

Hi so last year I was able to file taxes as married filing jointly with my spouse who is a non-resident and living in Ghana. I had to apply for an ITIN for her (submitted together with the 1040 by mail), and submitted her birth certificate and Ghana Driver's License (a passport is usually preferred). Then I had to include a letter asking the IRS to treat her as a resident for the Tax year. I got her ITIN after about 3 weeks of submitting the application

    Hello everyone,

I am new here. Very frustrated and wondering on the internet trying to find answers or advice as what I could do in my situation. My husband and I got married in in April 2015 and got the marriage in the Municipal Assembly and registered our marriage with a valid and legal marriage certificate. I returned back to the US and petitioned a then non-immigrant visa for my husband which was approved by the USCIS Vermont Center. When my husband went to the embassy in Accra for his visa (that was already approved by VSC) he was denied on 221(g) and placed in Administrative review. It is now 6months that we have been waiting. We provided everything we had and the lady officer was so rude and treated us as if we were not humans. I have never been this disrespected by anyone. Does anyone know any success stories on AP cases in Ghana? All our inquiries to the embassy are being ignored and we are after 6months, still no word as to what is going on with his case. That visa is only valid for 3 more months and I am currently a green card holder. Any idea what I can do now? I am really frustrated at this point after a 6month wait.

APs have no timeline to them... you'll just have to wait.

So you are a greencard holder and applied for a non-immigrant visa for the spouse??? definitely that visa would be denied because there is the "intent to immigrate" there... just my 2 cents

I appreciate you help so much

But I would like to know if I can go to any registered hospital to do the medicals or these are the specified Hospitals by the embassy?

This is because am currently at Kumasi Ghana and I want to know if I can do the medicals at Ge or komfuo Anocha teaching hospital.

Thanks n hoping to hear from you soon.

Nope you can't do it at "Gee" or KATH...

Medicals can only be done at either Akai House or Holy Trinity Health Centre in North Kaneshie...

You'll also need your interview letter to do the medicals

  5. The money and jobs would just be transferred over to the Embassies, where it would create jobs due to the increased workload. I don't see the problem with that at all.

I totally agree with the OP on this. Unfortunately, I don't think it's part of Trump's plan, though. We'll see but I doubt anything will be changed in B1/B2 policy since it's the bottom of the food chain, visa-wise. As you said, it seems like the goal is to take care of work visas and green cards first.

It might not be part of his plan but if we think it is a genuine concern we can echo that but writing letters to senators, congressmen etc

  6. *RANT*

Trump promised to fight illegal immigration vigorously including building the wall on Mexico-US border.

One thing that would be nice to add to the list will be scrap adjustment of status for the non-immigrant categories listed above.

We all know that for VWP, all you have to do is to not have an" intent to immigrate". All other categories require you to show hardcore proof but others skate through because they did not say exactly that their gf or bf here wants them to come, marry and adjust.

How about we all join the long queue? If you come in with no intentions to stay then you should leave just like you intended despite marriage to a USC. You can return and start the process from your home country. That would be fair to everyone who wants to come here legally..#my2cents

    I'm with you on this

  7. Can I be granted a Fiance Visa K-1 in Ghana when I get engaged without the presence of my soon would be husband so that we can get properly married when am finally with him in US. By so doing I can provide pictures to prove we are traditionally engaged without Hus presence. please help me

if you get traditionally engaged you are not qualified for K-1 visa. you'll have to file I-130 for a IR1/CR1 visa.

Why would you even be desperate to have an engagement without your partner just because you want proof for visa????

  8. HI GUYS,

I AM FROM GHANA AND HAS CURRENTLY WON THE LOTTERY ...I FAILED MATHEMATICS DURING MY EXAMS BUT AFTER A RESIT I PASSED WITH A N E8 ..I WILL LIKE TO KNOW IF I AM ELIGIBIBLE AND WILL NOT BE DISQUALIFIED OR DENIED A VISA.

    THANK YOU

The requirement is a High School Diploma (SSCE or WASSCE) with passes in English and Math. Once you were able to resit and passed you have nothing to worry. Just make sure you go to the interview with WAEC scratch card and your remedial exam results slip. Good luck

  9. after uscis approved our i130 about four months ago my wife having been calling both the uscis and the nvc to confirm when we will get our case number from the nvc to start everything but she doesnt get any good respond from both end but just yesterday she got an email from the nvc asking her to send a copy of our approved i130 document to their because they dont have any information about us so she did send the email to them, Has anyone here have this kind of experience before and how long did it take for the nvc to reply your email . someone should please help me

So far i know it takes some time before NVC gets back to you after receiving the approved petition from USCIS. Just be patient a little

  10. Best thing to do is first to get a police report of the missing passport and secondly (although this not the right way) get a trusted connection man to get you an express new passport for a much higher fee. if you decide to rely on the passport office or go through the regular route i can bet you with my last pesewa that you would not get it before the interview date

Last time i was in Ghana i had to pay a connection man 600ghc to get one in 2 weeks. it is not right but under the conditions you will have to compromise

  11. Sorry typo I corrected. Meant is. But still people are getting approved even with KM. There's a big lack of facetime together and well people need to fix that and stay together weeks and months and be there for interview even.

    okay good.

I do agree with you. I have always maintained that if you go there very well prepared with no red flags you are most likely to get approved. I dont think the COs have any interest in denying people

  12. Taking my post to be rude and none understanding isn't the reason I posted it, it was posted because the embassy in question deny people daily for what I take as silly, people have posted some pretty silly reason for denials for this embassy and this embassy does question what I posted, yes some couples are fine without having kids yes I know there are plenty of options venues for people who are pass their child bearing years, but this embassy didn't get the dubbed a high fraud embassy for no reason, there are plenty avenues for fraud from this embassy I just posted a topic on one

I honestly did not find anything wrong with your post
