from what i've seen, it's more concern about DEI, inclusion, etc ad vomitus instead of the focus on what the job really is - fighting multiple peer adversaries and winning. all of this other nonsense that has overtaken the military from the top down is just creating distractions from the real mission and is a threat to national security.
the afghanistan withdrawal did more to harm recruiting than many know - to be left to the wolves by your own country is on any potential recruit's mind.
