The aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman is undergoing repairs after it collided with a merchant vessel last week in the Mediterranean Sea, according to the United States Navy. Images of the ship show damages to parts of its exterior, including a storage room wall, a maintenance area and an overhanging deck at the rear, called a fantail. Navy officials said the USS Truman arrived Sunday at a support site in Souda Bay, Greece, where emergency repairs began on its starboard quarter, which is the right rear section of the ship opposite port. "Damage assessed includes the exterior wall of two storage rooms and a maintenance space," wrote U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa in a social media post Sunday morning. A Delta Air Lines flight went belly-up after crashing at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday. Emergency crews confirmed they were responding to an “incident” at the airport and that all passengers and crew members had been accounted for. Delta Flight 4819, which took off from Minneapolis about 11:47 a.m., appears flipped on its back on a snowy runway, according to photos and video posted online. At least eight people have been reported injured so far, according to CP24, but the severity of their injuries could not be immediately confirmed. Power plant operator and co-owner NRG Energy Inc. is preparing to close down part of its Ivanpah Solar Power Plant in San Bernardino County, Calif., a little more than 11 years after it began operating. NRG agreed to terminate a pair of long-term purchase power agreements with utility Pacific Gas and Electric Co. for energy generated at the facility, which still uses technology the operator says has been surpassed by solar silicon photovoltaic generation. DOE provided $1.6 billion in loan guarantees for the project. Construction of the $2.2-billion plant started in 2010 with Bechtel Corp. as engineering, procurement and construction contractor.
