I don't know much about I130 but from my understanding only K1 visa holders can get an interview waiver. Don't know about other visa holders when filing AOS

oh really? interesting because thats what it said in my letter for when they sent me info for my biometrics appt. so maybe im in the wrong forum :s coz we filed an i175 - which is removal of conditions. i feel like this process is back to square 1 like first applying! Thanks @KimberleyVDB

  2. Hello everybody - im back on here after going through my original visa approval i130. So now im at the AOS stage. my husband filed in March and I received a letter in June regarding the biometrics appt which I had in June also. I was notified that my residence status was extended for a year on the system but its not on my card or in my passport. so if I needed to do some international travel ie canada is this gonna pose a problem.

And second query is how long between the biometrics to get an interview? or is this a necessity i was told that sometimes the interview gets waived.

    Thank you all :)

  3. Does anyone know what they ask at the port of entry? You give them your immigrant packet and do they interview you again?? Please advise

We traveled by land at the peace bridge. The IO we had was super friendly and nice. He just asked when we were married and thats it. The rest was just him checking all the paperwork was in order and then stamped our POE. Hey didn't even check our car with all my stuff.

  4. Zirq that's so wonderful!!!!!! When are you going to do the POE?

    Congratulations :) :) :)

Thanks ChristinaG cannot explain the feeling once you are holding it! lol Monday!! my husband drove up on Thursday - this morning 8am the visa was ready to pick up and its a very short car ride from where i live. Now Im under pressure to finish my final packing :)

    Congrats Zirq.

    thanks akazmi

    Congratulations!

    thanks OLee

  5. hi christina i got approved and they said you will get your passport and visa week or so. Best of luck with to all my brothers and sisters whose having interview in the future. Just relax and be confident as long as you have all the documents you don't need to worry.

Congrats akazmi!! Lucky you didnt have to wait as long as us June interviewees...I just got notification that loomis has picked up passport so should have it today or tomorrow....best of luck with everything. :)

  6. Has anyone going through Montreal actually received notification from Loomis and if so how long before you were able to pick it up or have it delivered? Mainly looking for info on CR1's as it seems we have a number of people who were in "Issued" status. Just wondering if things have actually been printed for the immigrant visas...

based on another canadian vj-er =- hers was issued (final processing) June 26th - then she got the email from Loomis on Thu 2nd July that they had picked it up from the Consulate and then the following day it was at the Loomis location ready for pick up Fri 3rd July. She picked it up on Mon 6th coz they not open on the weekends.

So based on this timeline I am guessing it takes a full week. Hoping I hear something either today or tomorrow!

  7. Have you received your Visa yet?

Has anyone that got the "Issued" status for CR1 actually received their Visa yet?

nope not yet. Mine went into final processing on Monday 6th July and I still haven't received the email from Loomis that visa is ready to pick up - hoping today or tomorrow I have that as I am planning to leave on Monday!!

  8. Congrats! Hopefully you get it quick.

We interviewed a few days after you so hopefully we are right behind you, although it's still stuck on June 26th for us!

yeh I know how you feel it totally sucks how long this has taken. I was following closely Canadiangirl39 coz hers was a day before mine and as hers got approved i knew mine would not be far behind so that is comforting! we lost two days last week right because of the holidays so hopefully they will start dishing out the issued statuses this week. because if its july and they are still backlogged then july peeps interviews will be delayed too!

I emailed the montreal immigrant email add and when i did then my status date changed so maybe you can enquire?

  9. I'm in the same boat as you give or take a few days. It is literally stunning that they approve you a visa and then you have to wait weeks to receive it.

It has been 5 months since my CC at the NVC when I thought all the pain was over. But no, it's continued and unsurprising incompetence by US government systems.

What annoys me most is that people with their interview the day before me received their visas within 8-9 days. For me now it has been 12 days and CEAC still says bloody 'ready' as if I haven't had my damn interview.

I feel your pain...its like they stabbed you with a knife and now they just twisting it. I have had a few people with interviews after mine and they already have had their notification to pick up their passport....while I'm sitting her waiting and be like...are you for real? Its so stressful I'm like be done with it already! you approved me over 2 weeks ago....why am I still here??????? Mine even says issued but apparently there is more waiting after that.....and those after me - issued and delivery of visa within 5 days.

  10. We are just waiting for the portals to become available again to pay our AOS and Visa Application Fees. My question is, when sending documents to NVC, I understand we can scan and send copies to NVC except for the I-864EZ, aka Affidavit of Support, and the "original" must be submitted to NVC. If this is so, then how can a person have the original "I-864EZ" to present @ Montreal for the interview??

my husband filled it out online - he printed two copies off - hand signed both of them - sent 1 with the IV packet and the other gave to me for the interview. So technically you have two originals.

  11. Congratulations! :dancing:

    thanks bellez214

I think they like to just scare the heck out of folk. But maybe they had some issues with some folk who were trying to sneak by and act like they were a resident. ya know But thank you for verifying.

    Oh snap.

I forgot the Visa Delivery for Canada also is this correct (I thought it was Loomis).

Montreal now uses DHL to send your passport and visa back. No need to get the Xpresspost envelope that was previously required. When packet 3 arrives you will be instructed to register for DHL. You will pick the nearest location to you from a drop down menu. The waiting period varies.

It is Loomis not DHL. It says Loomis when you register for the location when registering your appointment online.
